If it has a 4" screen and a headphone jack, I'm buying regardless of everything else. These big screens are so hard to hold that people are attaching little posts to the back now. Edit: Also want gen2 TouchID at least; forgot it had the sucky gen1.

nope because CDs then USB sticks and blu rays then HD streaming are inherently superior technologies.
FaceID on the other hand... is a sidestep.
Off topic, but streaming is not better than blu-ray by any stretch. It's more convenient, sure, but the quality is a compromise.

Agreed about FaceID though. It just seems kludgy and inconvenient and I'm thankful that as a "budget" device the new SE most likely would not feature the expenseive and hard to produce sensor package that makes FaceID work.

I recently sold my iPhone 6s Plus for a SE. I found that the size of the Plus model was not very easy to use one handed. In addition to the size, the rounded edges made the phone hard to hold, and would "pop" out of my hands.

Since the "downgrade", I have been much happier with my iOhone experience. The biggest downfall of the SE for me, is the noticeable slower first generation Touch ID.

Assuming that a new SE would have at least the second gen of Touch ID, that would probably be my next iPhone.

Lmao - I know right?
I see people at coffee shops with little tripods on their iPhones because they are so large...

Cracks me up

I love my SE. It is the perfect size for me. It has all the features I need. I’d like 3D Touch, but I don’t need it. I prefer a phone that fits easily in my pocket. I personally don’t want a larger screen. What I’d like is a longer lasting battery (not that the current battery is bad but more here is better), faster chips, and better cameras (again, not that the current ones are bad).

The larger phones sell well, so I know I must be in a minority. But there has to be a sizable minority that simply doesn’t want a larger phone. I want to stay with Apple but if they forced me to choose a larger phone I’d seriously consider another maker. Some of the Samsung phones are nice.

If the rumor is correct, the source says the $450 SE2 targets India, Indonesia, and SE Asia.

I would not expect an A11 or fancy features. To save costs, I would expect it to be a de-featured iPhone 7: TFT 4.7" display, A10, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, no 3D Touch, no official water resistance.

I can read. Thanks for asking.

You SE fans are acting like it is a 6s. It isn't as anyone who ever used a 6s can attest.

Lets say you all get your dream of 8 "internals" in an SE form factor. So what. It will still feel like a childs toy and will have a screen suitable for texting and selfies. But hey, its cheap so...
Why do you seem so upset that someone would have the gall to desire a different phone than you? It has nothing to do with price.

I know some rumors pointed towards the SE using the same body as the current 4.7" phones. That is a mistake IMO. At least in the US, I think a lot of people buy the SE for the form factor.

The rumors indicate SE2 is targeted at India, Indonesia, and SE Asia.

I'd strongly dislike a 4.7" chassis. If apple does that, I think I'll finally jump to Android, yuck. The Sony Xperia Compact series are small and nice though.

It will be on par with the 7 at the most, se is always a generation behind
There's only one SE, this isn't a recurring thing so let's not speak in absolutes as if that's what has been established.

I'm hoping for an upgrade to the 8 internals, no head phone jack (leave those 3.5's back in the past like 8 tracks), but maintain its more rugged and smaller form factor.

We'll see - I think Apple sort of targets (at least in their minds at one time) the current SE at that as it is.

For some reason their corporate bubble was surprised by how many of us here in the US love that size and feature set.
