I couldn't even imagine, even trying to get it streak-free. I'll wait for the job listing on Apple's site.

Hey all,
Thought I'd say hello from inside the store! I got to see Steve (right in front of me actually, I didn't even notice at first!), and got some pictures of him. James Woods and Kevin Bacon are both here as well. It's pretty damn crazy in here, and a lot of fun. The glass staircase and cube is amazing! This whole thing was worth the wait. I was outside since 2 in the afternoon, and braved some absolutely horrible pelting rain for a while, but I was #68 in here!

Cheers! Mark

Just stopped by the new Apple Store on the way to dinner. The line is insane! To give you an idea, the store entrance is on the west side of 5th Avenue between 58th and 59th Streets. The line goes back and forth three times in front of the store (the took out a lane of 5th Avenue for this) then east down 58th Street, north on Madison Avenue, west down 59th Street, across 59th Street and back west, finally ending between 59th and 60th Street on Madison Avenue. Streched out, that's about 10 city blocks.

Have you considered therapy? You have serious anger issues.

Ya know what fascist? People have a right to an opinion.
And because I don't think everyone should have to work everyday of their lives and not have to spend time away from their families on holidays doesn't make me "angry" or "need therapy". You don't know what anger is.

I know lots of people need jobs and would work retail if they had to. But, retail is a crappy job most of the time, and if you have obviously never worked with the general public a day in your life if you don't think so. Retail is a living hell because the general public at large are morons, and it already has a crappy enough schedule. I sympathize with anyone who has to work retail greatly, and if you like working retail, more power to you.

I wish an Apple Store Manager lurking here would IM me for an interview in the Bay Area of Northern California.
And, actually, they probably wouldn't hire you because, from what I've read, they really try not to hire Mac fanatics.
And, if you would "gladly" work every holiday of your life.....you need therapy because there is something called a work-life balance.

Maybe I'll check it out in the wee hours.

Thanks. Can you hook me up with an Apple Store Manager in Northern California for an interview? I can't wait to work in living hell. It's my kind of dream job.

It's this kind of thing that fuels the myopia of New Yorkers when it comes to anything outside of the city.... From inside, it seems like it's the only city that exists. Not that I mind being at the center of so much, but it's weird. I love it, actually. Where are you located?

Word seems to have gotten around about the Macbook giveaway. A few people I talked to in line seemed to be there because of it. Frankly, I wouldn't stand in line. Its fairly cold and windy atm. I'm going to swing by after dinner and see if I can get in to look around. I feel particularly bad for the employees standing outside and cheering every time a group goes in. Its kind of cold for t-shirts.

I am posting this from a MacBook at the 5th Avenue Apple Store! :D It has officially been confirmed... this notebook is one sexy computer!

By the way, Steve Jobs was here earlier and I got pictures of him. :D Kanye West also just strolled in a few minutes ago. This place is CROWDED! I waited in line for about 2 1/2 hours if you're wondering. I got myself a free T-shirt and it was definitely worth the wait. Definitely come down here if and when you get a chance!

By now, the line is probably longer. I personally left because the line was too long, and tomorrow morning I will call them, ask if they have any MacBook's left in black, if they do, I will go down there, and buy one.

Lots of celebrities though. I bet they didn't have to wait in line…
