Can't wait for E-SIM to be implemented on the iPhone. Being stuck with removable pieces of plastic in 2018 is mind boggling.

Eventually it will happen. I know some people would be upset if the archaic SIM card disappeared, but in the era of disappearing buttons and jacks/ports, inserting a tiny piece of plastic in the side of your phone should be seen in the same light as something that really shouldn’t exist anymore. It’s a transition that people will adapt to and eventually at some point appreciate. Some of us will appreciate it from the start.

Whats with the jumbo sizes? I would really appreciate keeping the current 4.7" form factor with an edgeless screen.

Anyone remember the nexus 7 tablet?

We're almost there...

Any thoughts on an Apple Pencil 2 working with the largest model of iPhone in the next generation? I, for one, would welcome this. I don't want the existing features to be crippled in any way, but rather make the addition of the pencil unlock or improve upon usability. I would also love to see some sort of picture-in-picture mode on the largest of the three models.

I'm curious. . . at what point does a phone screen become ridiculously large?
1: When it can no longer fit in your car
2: When you start considering using a luggage carrier to transport it around
3: When you have to turn sideways to walk down a hallway
4: When you rather watch TV on your phone than using your 70” TV screen at home
5: When you’re not allowed to turn on your phone at night because it’s a hazard to planes flying overhead

So help me understand this: they need to use cheaper parts like an LCD screen instead of OLED and an aluminium frame instead of steel to offer a slightly cheaper phone when the phone markup is like 50%, the design will be a year old and Apple is massively profitable with an ever growing hoard, paying hardly any tax?

Seems to me they’re simply extorting the customer. They can afford to offer the latest technology and premium components for what are still very premium-priced phones at a price that is more affordable without having to use lesser components. Apple is just greedy.

Any mention of 10-bit extended color space capture in the original article, via BGR10A2Unorm ???

If NOT, then it's DOA !

The market isn't gonna wait another year for Apple and/or Samsung !

What has been Off the Radar of most, will soon be smack in the middle !

That's what happens when the entire world becomes Sheep !

This puts the X+ at about 451 dpi which conflicts with a previous rumor that it would be between 480 and 500 dpi. For comparison, the current X has a dpi of 458 and the iPhone 8+ has a DPI of 401.

I think the 1242-pixel width makes a lot of sense for the X+, though. This puts the X+ at 414 points which is exactly same as all the previous plus-sized iPhones.

Similarly, I think the cheaper, mid-sized TFT iPhone will have 1080-screen width but with a length a bit longer than 1920, so it will be just a longer version of a 1080p display. Also this will keep it at 414 points wide.

I'm sure FaceID 2.0 will be better. Let's not act like Touch ID v1 didn't have any flaws when it first was introduced with the iPhone 5S.

You make a valid point. I Read all the time how others are ridiculing Face ID for not working all the time or it’s not accurate, etc. But touch ID started off very similar with its own flaws. And touch ID refined nicely over the years, just as Face ID will mature and three years from now, others will look back and realize how advanced Face ID has become and it will become more widely accepted following the technological changes from each iPhone generation.

GAH! I wonder how much this is going to cost me!
Unless there’s a price reduction for the 2018 models I would guess:

iPhone 9 - same prices as current 8 Plus

10s 64GB - 999
10s Plus 64GB - 1099-1149
10s 256GB - 1149
10s Plus 256GB - 1249-1299

Better pricing in my opinion:

10s 64GB - 799-849
10s Plus 64GB - 899-949
10s 256GB - 949-999
10s Plus 256GB - 1049-1099

Dual Sim, to me, means nano sim and apple software sim added capability. So the transition has started. Apple cannot force the worldwide telecoms to changes to esim all at once. So is clever to allow both for some years before totally remove the nano sim.

I like the idea of bigger iPhone X since I have not changed my iphone yet because iphoneX do not convice me enough Specs/Price. I am afraid they will go much more expensive adding +$150 for X Plus and if they add 512gb then another $250. that would be $1500 before taxes.

I think they will grow the product lineup to 700 - 999 - 1499
