Just let you, upon seeing this. Judge for yourself just how serious Apple is as a company to being inclusive to all, and if you feel the words they say, actually mean anything in reality:

You give someone the head of diversity job because they are from a background that represents and understands what it's like to live in a Country that marginalises anyone who isn't white!
Yeah, sure. 8 years with black president that was elected by the majority of americans when only 12% of the total populations are non-hispanic black. What are you talking about? Who is marginalising the black population?
 
This decision has nothing to do with the fact she is white christian female and potentially heterosexual. She just couldnt do properly her job as she was born with white priviliges. The new chief of diversity needs to be a black transgender single mother born in Cuba that converted to islam several years ago. The curriculum is irrelevant.

Exactly.

Diversity of ideas, mind, experiences are what matters. Diversity of eye or hair color seems stupid, likewise diversity of skin color is racist on the face of it. Just ask MLK.

Hmmm ... I see several Asians, 1/4 of the group are women (No, I'm not going to play the cis/transgender whack a mole game), different age groups, and at least one known homosexual. Lisa Jackson might be blackish. I don't know. This is light years better than what Apple was just 7 years ago when these discussions first began.
 
Humanity being diverse has nothing to do with shoving incompetent people into workplaces so simulate it.

Only you claim that diversity = incompetence. So once you tell yourself a lie, you run around arguing with yourself.

If you have anything actually logical and true to talk about, great, am happy to carry on discussing with you. But I wont continue in any dialogye chat that promotes ignorance or lies - or hatred against miniorities, which BTW is what you are doing, when you offer us a lie that asking for diversity is asking for "incompetence".

If you start off so far behind that you are galaxies away, you can travel light years and be not remotely close to getting there yet.......
 
It's easy to say "pick the best person for the job" but that doesn't always happen.

People have biases whether they want to admit it or not. There are studies out there showing that resumes with "black sounding" names get thrown into the trash automatically, so how do you exactly expect minorities to get into the door? Harvard had a study saying minority applicants are "whitening" their resumes in hopes of boosting their shot at jobs. In fact, companies are twice as likely to call minority applicants for interviews if they submit whitened resumes...and this discriminatary practice is just as strong for businesses like Apple that claim to value diversity as those that don't.

I looked at LinkedIn the other day and someone had shared a "Black Lives Matter" picture....it had a ton of comments from people in HIGH positions in their company saying some of the most racist crazy things. I was surprised at how much guts these people had saying these things with their company name splashed all over their profile. But it made you realize how many people are in these positions to hire and fire....and they were saying these crazy things about minorities.
 
Makes me think that the best candidate for a role of diversity chief is actually a white straight middle-age man. As soon as he gets the idea as to why diversity is important.

That's the only chance to move forward - convince the majority that having diversity is a good thing for everybody and make sure those all those efforts don't alienate majority.

But I expect another LGBT/female/black filler with the only objective to hire more black people...

Ever thought the fault lies with the minorities instead of the company. When the pool of applicants do not have any minorities in it, then who's fault is it? Its not Apples job to go out and specifically hire people because of color. That's illegal just like firing someone based on color.

Well it turns out that there are cultural issues across the board in large organizations. Weather than be Indian, Asian, Black, White. Hell getting sales people and engineers to communicate properly can be an issue because lft brain vs right brain thinkers. It turns out that human beings and cultures are different. Which is why this whole argument is borderline silly. Various cultures around the world are WAY more racist than Americans as a whole due to deep religious and heritage beliefs.

Also in regard to whatever you read. Im sure some of it was poorly biased but I can guarantee that some of it was based on experience of working with people and what works and what doesn't. If they happened to hire a certain "race" of people that they had bad experiences with of course there will be bias against. Thats just the way it goes with just about anything in life. Usually if you get burned a few times you tend to stay away from fire.

LOL 🤣 Forced diversity does lead to lower competence, it is a scientific fact. And what you are saying is a blatant lie. In other words, what you are promoting is hatred for a society where people are chosen for their competence and ability and not their skin color.
 
Apple still has a discrimination policy against older workers. IF you're a boomer there is little chance you would ever get higher permeant ( I not talking about retail jobs)

Maybe they didn’t hire them because of their race. Maybe they hired them because they’re the best at their job and they just so happen to be whiteo_O:rolleyes:. To pick anyone else for their skin color is racial discrimination.
 
Guess she didnt tick enough boxes. I would assume she is a lesbian. Now if she was a black lesbian she might have been able to stick around.

Dollars to donuts I know what the person who replaces her will look like. Since there is no other category of human that can work towards a diverse workplace.
She replaced a black woman.
