Ew! Touch ID won't force me to upgrade.

Hopefully no one will force you to upgrade at all. I know no one is forcing me to upgrade my iPad 2 but I am looking forward to having a faster iPad for some games plus the Touch ID; I have gotten so used to it on my iPhone 5s I keep expecting it to work on my iPad 2.

LOL at the people here who act like they've never made a mistake on their job and hoping to be forgiven for it. I'll bet they wouldn't like someone making fun saying they're gonna be fired. :p

I hope they keep the Mute/Rotate switch around. I don't use it as a Mute switch on the iPad, rather pointless. But a quick Rotation lock, very much yes.

Being able to quickly lock and unlock the screen rotation is very handy.

They could add it to the Control Center swipe-up thing.

PR Rep at Apple: How do we draw attention away from Google's event today? Let's see, we can "accidentally" leak product information in the user guides. Somebody is bound to randomly look there and discover it.

Other PR Rep: Perfect! *updates User Guide* Oh look, it's spreading like wildfire on the internet now, thanks to 9to5Mac and MacRumors.

1st Rep: Excellent, now let's take it down to make it appear to be this "accident" we created. Suck it Google.

Yup, this just happened.

On another site I frequent, an article about Apple accidentally releasing a preview of the user guide early has almost as many comments as the article about Google announcing the Nexus 9.

THAT is why this "leak" occurred.

Nexus announcements today were pretty underwhelming although the Nexus 9 actually looks quite nice, the new iPads are going to be better though for sure

why is it that if we choose no password, we still have to swipe after pressing the home button. Annoying. Touch id will be a fail on the ipad, too many household family members have to learn how to properly lay finger on home button. And you don't hold the ipad like a phone. Properly laying thumb down will be unhandy.

Wow, this is seriously bad. I imagine it'll be mentioned tomorrow. "Now, stop me if you've already seen this."

Not sure those names are the right choices, the numbering can get a little tiresome.

I can, however, imagine Tim Cook shouting at somebody in his office at this very moment.

Increased specs is pretty much all we are going to be looking at (along with them claiming how much better X is). Again though, I only hope the Mini is not gimped as I would like to upgrade mine since the storage is really low.

I doubt he would be but if he was, I really would be scared haha

Maybe he just invites you in and has you sit opposite him. Then looks down at the table and twiddles his thumbs, letting out a really deep breath. He looks up, stares at you squarely in the eyes and says, "Are you responsible for this?"

We've doubled-down on security - Tim

I think we misinterpreted "double-down"

Looks like I won't be getting to sleep tonight, thanks :p

Forgive him. He's 12.

Sorry, I'm just looking forward to this event ;)

Normally I'd agree and I think it's funny, but since the :apple:WATCH? C'mon... no one even knew HOW it would look. (except one blurry-weird pc drawing like half a day before the event)... pretty much doubled-down on that one, huh?!

For most leaks, I think it's its the fact that this stuff gets produced in China. Apple Watch is not in full production yet, with it's Early 2015 release, meaning no part leaks. Mac Pro was being produced in US, where Apple has a much tighter grip.

When you are producing something in the tens of millions in a foreign country, in a factory you don't even own or operate, it's damn near impossible to keep track of them all.

That's because Tim's more concerned about other things like getting scammed by GTAT.

I think the leaks might be coming out of Foxconn or the other outsourcing companies since they are probably the only people with pre production prototypes other than Apple HQ, which most likely aren't leaking the info.

You're not suggesting that Foxconn wrote the iPad User Guide? In China?

out of pure curiousity as i just checked the direct link MR posted w/ the article and its back to user guide for iOS 8.0 and iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina Display; anyone realize when Apple switched it back?
