I looked at the calendar last night, and this made sense. A 10/23 drop has leaked. Pre-orders 10/16. Event 10/13.

The bummer is the likely staggered launch of the standard and Pro versions. Just like 2017 when the 8 and X came out and the X debuted on 11/3. Hopefully the first shipments of 12 Pro Max units will be arriving no later than 11/6.

The bigger question that I have is, will Apple release a COVID-friendly iPhone with TouchID somewhere on the phone?
I've already decided that I'm not buying another iPhone until Touch ID makes a comeback as there's no telling how long we're going to be wearing masks.
I am hoping for Touch ID to return too. Even if it’s not under display but on the power button like the iPad Air.
The fact that it’s on the iPad Air gives me some hope but I still doubt it.

I wonder if the slot below the power button on the dummy models is some form of Touch ID but a horrible location. Better of integrating it on the power button.

As much as I am excited for the iPhone 12 I’m more excited for the new MacBook Pro’s. I hope they up the current MBP 16’s with 10th gens and maybe a new GPU, I held off on the current MBP 16’s in hope they release a mew MBP 16!

The m
I'd be surprised if there's a separate November event for the Apple Silicon Macs
The majority of leakers lately have been saying there will be three events. Each about an hour long. September already happened, with the iPads and Apple watches. October will be iPhones, airtags and AirPods studio. Then in November, Macs and HomePod Mini.
Mark has said there will be three events, John Prosser has said there will be three events, and L0vetodream has said there will be three events.

I dont think Apple would (re-) schedule an event depending on wether it collides with “Prime day” or not, which last time I checked is not an official holiday but an arbitrary private sale...
They aren't rescheduling anything. It's not announced they may already know the that and not plan it for the same day. Has nothing to do with a holiday but they don't want other high traffic events taking audience from theirs.

Better be fast with those preorder fingers. Just look at the Apple Watch which I would argue isn’t as popular. Even the Watch has a delivery window at the beginning of NOVEMBER now and the new iPad Air still does not even have a date!

gimme that dark blue iPhone 12 Pro Max matching my Apple Watch 👏🏼
Wow, that's rough. I'm glad I picked out the SE within an hour of the online store opening back up: I just got it yesterday (and the UPS guy said he had been delivering the boxes since Friday).

It will if Apple uses it; it does make sense.

The alternatives I’ve seen suggested so far have all been worse, but Apple may have come up with something better 🤷‍♂️
What other names did you have? :D

I was at the parking lot at McDonalds in Cupertino. I saw Phil in his SUV while he was speaking into his iPhone, he actually was yelling "we just have 12 days" and "we need space fuc..... grey" ... I'm not sure but I guess release will be on October 4th...
Glad to see the yelling at employees is alive and well after Steve's passing.

It does make it exciting to think about a future where iphones have touchID in the power button. But it will be worse in usability than both power button touchID and faceid. For one, you won't be able to unlock the phone without picking it up.... No more table unlock.

I got nothing 😂

I think I once posted iphone 12, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, but then someone pointed out it would be confusing for the 12 Max to be the same screen size as the (non-Max) 12 Pro.

Anyway, the 5.4” will be even smaller in (physical) size than the SE. So that tracks with the mini naming.

It’ll be interesting to see what Apple comes up with, maybe someone here already nailed it!!
