 So don't blame Samsung (the maker), blame the phone (made by Samsung).

I think he/she meant that if you don't like your current Samsung, it must just be a fluke, and not really Samsung's fault. So don't blame the company, just blindly go out and buy a different model of Samsung as it will likely be wonderful.

Battery life always depends how the user, uses the phone. Simple as that.

Also has to do with how well software is written (using unnecessary CPU cycles...), how well hardware is integrated, and also that AFAIK, LTE chips currently gobble a lot more power than GSM or CDMA 3G.

Yes, you can do things to maximize your battery life, but you can't polish a turd. If a device is badly designed power-wise, you can only make the best out of a bad situation by turning everything off.

Yea that's what I meant. I not gonna blame Apple if I have a 3G phone running iOS 3.0.

And that's what the other guy is doing in a sense with his Android phone.

I'm not trying to be a downer...but this means we'll actually get our hands on it towards the end of October.

First it was delayed from its normal summer release.
Next everyone expected early September.
After that everyone said early October.
Now it's the end of October.

They better have a damned good update for making us wait so long.

Thanks for getting unnecessarily technical, I understand that. But if your on your phone all day, doing "stuff" it's gonna die quick. I don't care what phone you have.

I was referring to the review on the phone that lasted 6 hours but my point was, did the reviewer state exactly what he was doing on the phone.

What about IOS 5???

Will they release it on the 4th, the 5th, the 10th or the 15th? C'mon now!! :D:D:D

Unless it's common for board members to attend events like this, I think Steve should stay away, if only so Apple Inc and Apple fans can get solidly behind Tim.

Considering Steve's health condition, and we see so little of the man, I think he should make his last big public appearance, just to say thanks and handing over the baton to Tim before he just disappears and never see him again. We'll just read about him on Page 7 in the newspaper.

When Apple transition from Steve to Tim was all done internally. Steve never made a public announcement. But maybe he wants it that way.

He doesn't have to say or do much. Just his presence is heartwarming. The applause and appreciation he'll get if he appears, will strengthen his health mentally i"m sure. He's done so much for Apple. I would hate to see him go without him saying goodbye. You know it'll be taped and viewable on Youtube.

Perfect opportunity, especially if it's gonna be the iPhone5 instead of 4S.

Just like the Nike slogan - Just Do It - Steve!!!

well this is what Engadget said about the Epic 4g Touch (not sure if this was the new Samsung phone he was speaking of but most likely is)

Our standard video rundown test yielded 5 hours and 15 minutes before shutting off, and with 12 straight hours of moderate use (emailing, taking pictures and videos, social networking, playing a couple games, making a few calls and keeping 4G and push notifications turned on) we still had just over one-third of our battery remaining. You'll never have to feel uncomfortable leaving your charger at home for the day unless you plan to watch videos or play graphics-intensive games all day. This is still highly competitive with the latest Android devices on the market today.

My guess is that Steve will ignore standard board of directors protocol and do whatever he damned well pleases.

Don't forget, he's the guy who told Disney that he did not want any compensation for being on their board. They actually had to change their by-laws to comply with his wishes (all other non-executive board members draw a stipend).

Steve Jobs was arguably the most hands-on CEO of all Fortune 500 companies during his tenure. It is likely that he would end up being a very hands-on Chairman just due to his personality.

Apart from maybe his wife, I don't think anyone really tells Steve what he should or shouldn't do.

Maybe so. But I've read and watch tons of reviews online on that phone cuz I'm really considering getting it, if Apple disappoints me in a couple of weeks, but they ALL say different things.

One person says it sucks, another said it's great. Actually no one said it sucked. Battery life could be better but a lot of other people said battery was great. Like i said, depends on what your doing and running all day. And ya know, that's everything you get in life... there's always gonna be back and forth especially with technology so to each is own.

Right, because Apple owes you.

oh definitely, like when I have to work in our bottom floor, thats basically underground, theres no signal there so battery drains big time, too many variable go into battery life, hell even the temperature outside can affect it

so have the invitations gone out? not that it matters but just curious. I hope we get a hell of a show because i think Tim will be remembered as a bad ceo if the iPhone ends up to be suckish, i won't be remembering him like that but i think other will. As for Steve he probably will give some speech to into Tim and then just sit for the show, either that or he won't be there (maybe he will hide backstage or something). Cant wait :D

we have a rumored date as to when we will finally know the actual release date of the next iPhone.

This suddenly feels like an awfully lot of waiting.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8H7 Safari/6531.22.7)

Sweet! Finally something substantial about the iPhone 5 lol.

I will give you my take, the iPhone 5 will be same form factor, it will not do anything different than a 4 with iOS5 installed, it will perform better because of A5 chip and some additional memory.

Analysts will declare it a failure.

Fanboys will weep in dispare and tell everyone they are buying an Android.

The iPhone 5 will sell more units at a greater margin than any device ever making it the most profitable device ever made and sold by any company in the history of mankind.

Amen ..

Does anybody else not believe any of this until the invitations go out? I've heard dates before, I've heard a lot of things...as we all have, and I find that I just can't get excited about this until the invites go out.

If this announcement stands true, perfect timing for me, since my upgrade is this OCTOBER :D

Looking forward to having a brand spanking new iPhone 5 in my hands!

Hopefully with a larger screen, more iPad 2 like design (tapered). Obviously the A5 processor and 8MP Camera!

lol, yeah you tell em.

Apple can give two squirts a piss about missing 'delays,' even when Apple has no obligation whatsoever to notify anyone of pending release dates.

Face it, even with the supposed delay, you're gonna be gobbling up the new iPhone, whether its a minor update or not. You're still gonna end up buying it.

hate it when people expect things from other people, like they deserve it...

also, its been stated repeatedly for months that the next iPhone iteration would be coming in October.
