Not at all. Im rocking' the 3GS and if a 4S is announced, I'm getting the Epic 4G touch.

Even if they also announce a 5? Why do you care that they are releasing a slightly scaled down phone for the lower price market. They did not give the 8gb 3GS a different name, but they did do the same thing then...

He's saying if they release a mainline product that is for all intents and purposes, a slightly updated iPhone 4, he is jumping ship. I am too, I haven't waited since February to get a year and some change phone that only has a slightly better processor and slightly better camera.

:confused:

For everyone arguing the generation of the iPhone will be 5th so call it 5, this is such a simply obvious statement.

YES we know it's technically the 5th iPhone, but like iv'e stated before, Apple will not release a '4S' like phone and slap 5 on it

When Tim Cook steps on stage and if he says "I like to show you the iPhone 5", beat your ass it will be a redesign.

Think twice though, even if its a 4S, its gonna be better than the 4. And I think a 4S is going to be better than the plastic Samsung (Wanna Be) E4G Touch.

Apple IPx has better quality, user experience and App Store. You'll be happier sticking with Apple.

But I think its ganna be a 5

I'm in the same boat. If they only release a minor upgrade to the iPhone 4, I'm going to android.

Grass isn't always greener. Look before you leap. And I'm an Android owner.

But what kind of android do you have? A flagship device, or a budget device? Do you have cygenomod 7 on it?

The next phone I buy will either be a very revamped iPhone 5, or an android phone that has LTE (on AT&T).

This is my plan, altertnatively, if apple keeps yanking my dick and by October 6th there is no media event, I'm just going to buy an android.

I think when iPhone 5 is finally here, we'll be saying it was worth the wait. I think the biggest factor was making sure that iOS 5 and iCloud are ready for primetime before introducing EVERYTHING at the same time. That way, it's not just piecemeal: Bring "this" out but, wait for "that". Bring "that" out, wait for the "other".

It'll be "here it all is! Enjoy!"

So....who's first? The Chicken or the Egg??

So who's going first???

Sprint Announcement??? or Apple's Announcement???

You would think Apple announcement first, then Sprint follows, right???

Both are anticipated immanently. Maybe both on the same day???

Apple hasn't waited this long to only release a 4s. The iPhone 5 will also be announced. Common sense prevails.

Apple will announce the supported carriers during the conference in which they announce the iPhone 5 and 4S. So, if Apple is the Chicken, the Chicken before the Egg :D

I have a Samsung Galaxy running Froyo.
Hardware = POS
Software = POS
Battery = dismal

There is NOTHING I like about this phone except for the screen. But even the screen sucks in the sunlight and attracts fingerprints like nobody's business. My iPod touch isn't nearly the fingerprint magnet and I can read the screen easily in the sunlight.

Exactly! I read that they decided to work a little last-minute magic to somehow consolidate the various user IDs that you may have accumulated with various services (such as Game Center, supposedly iCloud itself, MobileMe, etc.) into one single sign-on.

That in itself is worth the wait it's taken for a couple/few extra weeks!

The processor means little to me from a 4 to 4S. Hell it doesn't really matter to me now because I have a 3GS and I will be able to run iOS 5 just fine. Better camera? Yea it will be way better than what i have now but I don't buy cellphones for it's camera purposes, let alone the only reason to get a "4S".

Let me tell you, I have big hands and I like things bigger and better and the iPhone screen size isn't cutting it anymore. I love watching video playback on my phone and 3.5" is not good enough anymore. It was awesome in 2009 when I got my 3GS but not now.

"Wanna be" Epic 4G? Plastic phone? You obvious take phones too seriously and this means nothing to me. Like I said, I'm on the market and I'm weighing ALL my options.

To the moment few secrets surprises about iPhone 5, is well know the device will have an A5 cpu (sames as ipad, maybe at lower clock), 8pmx camera, slimmer body and bigger screen close to 4".

Possible surprises are about NFC and the Gesture-enabled home button.

More intriguing is the iPhone 4S (4+ or 4e depend on which you bet), Plastic, Aluminum or Gorilla Glass back?, a 8 GB only model? NFC? A5 cpu? sure will be cheaper than iPhone 5 but that really cheaper ? (some sources figure 350$ carrier unlocked, free on contract and locked)...

And no iPod touch 5G... just a white 4G iTouch.

No wonder you hate Android. Look at your hardware and OS.

But I have a 3GS and feel the same way. Blame the phone you have, not the maker.

Don't know. I'm with TMO and refuse to go to ATT (sucks in AZ), and I'm not a Verizon fan. So I'm in a bit of a quandary. I'd hate to go back to a Blackberry, but I'm just not feeling the love for Android.

Say what you want about RIM, but Android can't hold a candle to RIM's email performance. And the battery solution I hear from everyone....... turn off 3G, turn off GPS, turn off widgets, only pull email. What a crock of crap. Why have a smart phone to only use dumb features.

I was reading a review on a new Android phone (Samsung I believe) is some Mobile news rag and they gave this new phone 4.5 stars. The reason they didn't give the phone 5 stars was because the battery only lasted 6 HOURS. WTF? A phone with a battery that only lasts 6 hours is a ONE star phone, I don't care if it makes me dinner. Android and the hardware it runs on blows.

Unless it's common for board members to attend events like this, I think Steve should stay away, if only so Apple Inc and Apple fans can get solidly behind Tim.

But, but, wait a minute!?!?

If Apple originated the iPhone wouldn't Apple be the egg?!?
And Sprint is a Carrier, wouldn't Sprint be the Chicken?!?!
So, egg before the chicken?!?!

Who started this thread response anyway???

Oops, it was me! Haha! :D

Thought I'd have a little fun.....

Yeah, I think Apple would have to make the iPhone5 announcement BEFORE Sprint can utter a word. ;)

Battery life always depends how the user, uses the phone. Simple as that.
