Two huge differences through...

IPhone is more popular than the iPad.
IPhone starts at $199 compared to $499

Good luck getting an iPhone two days after its released.

you are making the assumption that Apple produced exactly the same number of iPhones as they did with the previous models, and unless you checked their inventory reports, you can't say that.

the iPad 2 was sold out for MONTHS after launch, iPad 3, which sold even more, was not. Maybe Apple learned something... maybe?

So, after getting up at 3 am CST to order... Up 90 minutes... no joy. This morning 7:45 am CST... ATT.com 4 minutes, 17 seconds from beginning to end of order...

Why'd I get up early?

So, I probably won't have it on the 21st... The aggravation experienced by myself and so many others, not worth it.

For the iPhone 6 in 2 years, getting a good nights sleep.

Prologue: Just received my email from ATT, "... thank you for ordering from ATT premier, you should receive you order on or about Sept. 21st..."

Ahh...

I pre ordered a 64gb with my telco company Telstra in Australia I wonder if my phone delivery will get delayed.

Also it's ironic for all those windows and andriod users the numbers of pre orders for the new iPhone it can't be just loyal apple uers, i bet there will a lot of new users coming over from other devices with this one.

Maybe they are just being cautious with their numbers.... What are the chances that I am set for two weeks (after ordering at 3:50EST) while my order is processing... But they decide to push out more to the pre-orders to meet the "unexpected" high demand, bumping some of the early 2weekers to 9/21?
Right? Right? There's a chance!! Anybody?!?! Please???
Gaaaaah!!! I wanted the option to pick up in a store cause I don't trust my apartment building with a package from apple!!!! So I was a panicky Pete!!! I'm ********* sooooooooorry!!!!

Holy Shnikes. Are there seriously that many families out there dropping $700 plus tax on three or more unlocked phones?

Come on. Give me a practical reason. I find it unbelievable that so many people would be ordering for a "family of three" that Apple had to limit quantities. This is due to scalping, plain and simple.

What's fun is that the carriers love selling unsubsidized phones, they get a free 19-20 bucks a month as you are still paying the subsidy that was built into your rate plan.

I'm not debating that people would buy 20 to sell, you simply said that you were curious as to why someone would need more than 2. The limit of two isn't just to prevent scalping but also to enable more people to be able to get their hands on the phone right away. Without the limit people would buy for friends or family that were unable to order at the release time. If they allowed people to buy even 4, stock would run out twice as fast, if not faster.

I think Apple shouldn't release their iDevices in the middle of the night. I don't want to take a plane today with a pilot or flight control dispatcher who woke up in the middle of the night to buy a new iToy.

I have nothing against Apple or their products, I use the a lot and this is only my thoughts.

There are still units available fr launch day delivery of the white iPhone on the Aussie store. Perhaps the white iPhone is easier to make or something ?

The iPhone 5 is not targeted at enthusiasts who want the latest technology. Apple left that market long ago, while still giving lip service to anyone who would listen.

Apples now like Walmart, it's about selling to the average Joe en masse.

Despite the hype, it's just a mass market phone.

LOL, hater to the bitter end. Do you ever have anything nice to say about Apple or the iPhone?

Yes, what a horrible company Apple is making a high quality product that appeals to the *majority* of the buying public. Huge mistake, nothing of interest to tech minded people, they'll never buy one.

For some reason it would shock me that those phones will really ship in 2 weeks.. I bet it is sooner, it just doesn't make sense regardless of the high demand.

I am pretty sure this has happened in the past where it shows 2 weeks and then all of a sudden some of those folks ended up getting it early..

Correct me if I am wrong.

At least America is still on 2 weeks delivery on every handset, the UK is slipping again, now both the Black 32gb and 64gb are showing 2-3weeks.

freakin Apple site said I had no account, regular ATT site wa sjust bogged down.. finally went thru premier site and it worked fine...mehhh

I ordered mine that way too, but looking at the fine print it says:

"Your iPhone has been reserved and should arrive as soon as Sept 21, 2012."

Let's hope that doesn't mean a month from today.

So no unlocked phones yet? Carriers gets first dibs I guess

When I ordered through Verizon (off contract) it asked me if I wanted the phone unlocked. But I think they will unlock it depending on how far along you are on your contract. I'm one year in.

Apple Care Add on

I just wish Verizon offered AppleCare+. I hope I'm able to call and add it as I was for the 4S.

For an ipad3 I purchased I had to make an genius appointment for them to "inspect" the ipad3 before authorizing so I can make the apple care purchase.

Since I ordered the ipad3 new for in store pickup they walked me back there and it was "signed off" as the ipad3 was still NIB.

They mentioned you have either 2-4 weeks from purchase to get this done to add applecare. In the past you were able to purchase applecare before the end of the 1st year and it would be covered.

It is not Apple's responsibility to make sure people get enough sleep. The pilot should be responsible enough to sleep an appropriate amount. That is like saying concerts should be at 10 am instead of 10 pm so that pilots can get enough sleep.

That reflects badly on the pilot and/or flight control dispatcher. Apple didn't force them to do anything.

"Apple is doomed because new iPhone is the same as old iPhone".......

First batch sells out in one hour in the middle of the night.

LMFAO! I know right all those b!tches that were complaining about the iPhone stayed there asses up last night and ordered the phone neways. Bunch of hypocrites !!!!
