Apple's iPhone 5 Pre-order Shipping Estimates Slip to Two Weeks

I can't seem to log into my account to pre-sign for my deliveries. Was able to change the shipping address after the fact but want to make sure they'll leave them on the doorstep even if I'm not there.

I'm not sure about that.... People who got in 9/21 have gotten confirmation emails. Some of those people have claimed be able to change their shipping addresses once it has gotten confirmed. That's what I need to do...

Not many Apple-to-Droid converts, no. Brand loyalty is pretty strong in Apple country. What would be an interesting stat to know is how many *new* iPhone users came on board for this generation (and how many were up in the wee hours to order), as well as how many Droid users have been assimilated.

I have an S3 that's sitting shelved right now. If I (& my family) weren't so locked into the Apple ecosystem it'd be easier to keep options open.

Crazily enough, even I want one. I'm a sucker for anything with an Apple logo on it. My SGS3 is a very good phone if not the best out there at the moment but I have a feeling once I hold the iPhone 5 in my hands it will be love at first sight. Something about Apple products always bring me back but it's going to need to be way better than my 4 to reel me in. And guess what? It is.

Like you I also got the 4 and the 5 is a significant upgrade in just about every part of the phone. That's like saying Porsche keeps releasing the same 911 because they share a similar/same shape.

I quite like this idea! similar to the '3G' on/off feature that was removed for some reason.

Would be great if you had a slider in settings to control data throughput, ranging from 0 (no cell data) to 'max' all out, perhaps with '3G' and 'LTE' being 'bumps' in the slider, something like this:

Cancel order or return at Apple Store?

Well I slipped in before the deadline and ordered a 16GB black through the Apple Store app. However, I'm now having second thoughts and thinking I should have ordered a 32GB. Do folks think it would be better to cancel my order and reorder through Apple? Or, should I try to exchange at an Apple Store once it arrives?

I understand I have 30 days to exchange at the Apple Store, but I live in NYC and wonder if there will even be a 32GB version any time soon after launch. How does the exchange process work anyway? Would I be without a phone for a long time? Any suggestions are appreciated.
 
Preordered this morning through the app. Says 21st deliver but still processing. Hopefully purchasing via that method doesn't screw things up.

I'm a bit in the same boat... i'm starting to think i should of bumped up to the 32, but i'll most likely stay at 16
 
i got in through the apple store app and it took 3 minutes. finished and got confirmation email at 2:47am CST!
delivers 9/21 (will actually arrive 9/20, day before just like every other preorder)

All but 1 maybe due to it says limit to 5 per online order...Did you place them all at once?

Problem with that statement is that nobody knows how many phones were available for pre-order.

Also, the associate said the 2 week date is from when the order was placed, not 9/21

That's a load of sheet because mine just went from "processing" to "Delivers Oct 2 via Standard Shipping"

Same here. Mine just went into processing with Oct 5th delivery. Going to cancel and try to get one from Radioshack pre-order locally.

Yes. I get this as well. Oct 5th is 5 business days after the 2weeks.
 
Ordered at 6am

I didn't want to stay up all night or stand in line for hours. I don't feel like I have to be the first to have it.

I had no problems ordering on Apple.com at 530 Eastern time but I will have to wait 2 weeks. Not a big deal to me though, I like to keep things in perspective and it is a phone not a kidney.
 
Anyone with the "as soon as September 21" email from AT&T know if/when a shipping date might be confirmed?

Did anyone who ordered through Verizon check thier cc online? Usually the transaction is "pending" or "preapproved". Nothing here yet....

They debited money out of my debit card, and it says preorder processing when i check it online. But i havent received a confirmation email. What does that mean for me??? :confused:
