Apple's iPhone 5 Pre-order Shipping Estimates Slip to Two Weeks

how are people checking their verizon order status? I got confirmation, but status check isn't returning anything.

Just got off the phone with AT&T (after being on hold 45 minutes) and they said the following. I have to call their order status department (good luck doing that today) at 1-877-782-8870. They can provide you with exact details of your order as soon as they're available.

On a side note, I just got a text from AT&T saying "iPhones are expected to arrive on the 21st of September, but b/c of high volume of orders, may experience delays."

Anyone else get this text?

My delivery in the email says 9/21, but when I check status it says ships 9/21. Any difference?
 
So now when i log onto AT&T i see this, so maybe it is progress for me? Before it couldn't even find my order earlier. Still doesn't give me an exact ship date though. :(

What makes you so sure? It was a good THREE MONTHS after launch day before most people could easily purchase an iPad 2.

just received the same email...will get mine on the 21st. oh happy day.
 
How do you check your order status with ATT?

The only thing I notice is the link now is not clickable for cancellation. It was cancelable a few hours ago.
 
Yea! Shipping date moved up to the 21st

In the middle of the process of ordering from the Apple web site, the delivery time for my iPhone 5 switched from the 21st to 2 weeks before I could finish and hit "buy". :eek: :(

I was seriously thinking about canceling my order and waiting (camping out) in line (overnight?) at an Apple store.

But I just got a "good news" email from Apple saying that the 2 weeks delivery previous sent me "was not accurate", and to expect a delivery on the 21st.

Yeah!! :D
 
Just Talked to an Apple Rep after a 30 minute wait, All the orders from 3:00 am to 3:45 AM EST has delivery guaranteed on the 21st. This is from Apple.com or App Store. Any orders after the 3:45 am mark are on the 2 weeks shipping (Business days) 21+days
 
Standard Shipping

If ordered through apple, got the order in for the first wave, and standard shipping was selected will we be receiving the iPhone on the 21st, or will it ship out on the 21st and we will see it within a couple days after?

I saw on the forums that if you got in the first wave that apple does overnight shipping, is this true even though it says standard shipping?
 
Preordered within the first hour, got a 2 week wait, now its saying all my phones will be delivered day of sept 21 yayness i love all these new apple mistakes

Will Receive on 21st. Asked the Rep the same question, i am likewise in the first batch.

Do you know if that includes the "reservation" e-mail time? Or the time that Apple heard back from AT&T on "eligibility" for upgrade e-mail?
 
What timing is considered first wave? Had my confirmation at 3:58 am eastern time. While I was checking out it said delivers sept 21 then my email said 2 weeks???

Honestly i dont know, all he said was the time frame :cool: seems right on that 3:00 am to 3:45 am time period talking to a few people who order past 4:00 am are getting updates now to 2 weeks shipping

Just got this gem of an email from Apple:

I was one of those that got a "reservation" and then had to go back to complete the order.
 
Apple Store App Rocked!

Took less than 30 seconds to process an order on the Apple Store App from my existing iPhone 4. I was back in bed by 3:03am with a confirmation email. All the complaining about ship dates is a total joke. If you weren't up early and weren't prepared to execute with masterful precision, then you will have to wait and watch the delivery dates continues to slip. Apple is just counting dollars right now, they could care less about moving out shipping dates for late orders. Like I said, expect the shipping dates to continue to be pushed out......

Masterful Precision? :confused: Really? A keyboard and mouse don't require that much precision.
 
Cases

Anyone already order a case for their new iPhone, or waiting until the 21st to head out and buy one? Or do you know if stores will start selling iPhone 5 case before release date?

If so, where are you thinking about going to buy one? I am sure the selection is going to be limited, but I was planning on trying Best Buy and see if they have any cases in.
