Apple's iPhone 5 Pre-order Shipping Estimates Slip to Two Weeks

Ordered @ 0115hrs via Apple, resulting in 2 week shipping ... But says it delivers on 5 Oct. 3 weeks! Oh well.

My buddy at Apple said they are at Batch #3 which is at 5 weeks shipping. Eek!

Lightning to USB cable is at 9-15 October shipping. =\

Ha. I'm basically going to ask if they will have a 32GB I can swap for my 16GB within the 30 days following launch. Will do my best to resist additional purchases.

I paid by AmEx and have only seen a $1.00 charge from the Apple Store so far. I guess they take debit cash right away?

I ordered from at&t and have both the $1 charge and a charge for the full amount on my amex.

Does anyone have a firm ship date from at&t yet? I got my confirmation saying 9/21 and a text saying it had been processed but the website still shows processing with no date.

Same here, it's kinda good in a way I think, because sometimes when I have a pending charge, it'll still stay in my available balance and throw me off. But needless to say, I was surprised this morning when I noticed.

Did you get in on the 9/21 shipments? I'm not until the Oct. 5th so maybe that's why I'm still only showing the $1 charge?

I received order confirmation from AT&T at 9:27 AM EST
I received the text saying that the order has been processed 12:50 EST

The website still says processing though. I haven't received anything to suggest a non 9/21 delivery so my fingers are crossed...



EDIT: just checked my Amex and I do have two pending charges from AT&T one for $1, which im assuming was something related to the hold, and one for the amount of the phone, Amex doesnt show the times though, just that they were both today.

I got that text as well. No email and my status is "processing". I just started chatting with a rep online so I'm going to ask what the deal is.
 
Finally my 2:50am CST order was "processed" by Apple (was at the 2 Week Shipping), and so it'll be October 3rd per the store now (thanks to AT&T's "Upgrade Eligibility" server not responding to the Apple Store app I got the "reservation" e-mail at 2:25am but Apple didn't receive confirmation from AT&T until 2:50am that I was eligible). Oh well, just have to wait an extra week and a half longer than others who got through after I placed my order lol 🙂

So it appears some may be October 3 delivery date....maybe sooner, who knows really... =)

Please report your findings. I was excited to get the text but the fact that the site still says processing leads me to think that they're sorting through a ton of orders and we may not know for a day or two.
 
Mine is now preparing for shipment! Also, I haven't had any of the update emails people have mentioned, only the initial confirmation of my order.

The same exact thing happend to me, but I got the reservation email. I'm going to AT&T after work and seeing what the hell is going on! Lol I got the iPhone 4 on launch day so I should definitely be eligible. Instead of paying that crazy amount.
 
Mine is showing processing online under AT&T's order status details page. I ordered a 64GB Black from att.com at about 2:15 AM CST. I got a confirmation e-mail that it would be delivered on 9/21. I got the confirmation e-mail at 2:23 AM CST. I have received no text message about the order, just the confirmation e-mail.

Here's the transcript of the conversation -

me: well I got a text saying my order has been processed, but when I checked my account online it said that it is still processing

me: I have not recieved any confirmation emails

Jason: I am more than happy to check that for you. Just a moment please.

Jason: Based on the information that you have provided, it shows here that the order was placed properly and the order is being processed. Due to the overwhelming responses for the new iPhone, confirmations via email will take some time to receive.

me: How long will it take to receive a confirmation email? I figured it was an automated process.

Jason: Thank you for waiting. I will be with you in just a moment.

Jason: The emails are generated the same day. When the systems are required to generate over a million orders, it creates a delay which also resulted in problems with our website. Although, The site is currently back up and the emails are still being generated.

Jason: Is there any other questions I can help you with today?

me: Do you think Matt Forte will start next week?

Just checking in again, seeing if anyone else has gotten their confirmation and delivery date. I ordered mine last night around 3 or 4 am and am still waiting to see when i may get mine.

I also got my order in around 3:30 or so. It says Oct 5th for me under the Apple Store App (haven't been able to access my Apple account on the actual Apple site once.) I feel like these are estimates and once they sort the orders out and process them, some of the dates will move up. Maybe I'm just being an optimist. 🙄
 
I ordered last night at 3:08am EST with delivery on 9/21. That is still the case but I wanted to see if anyone who ordered on Apple.com/Apple Store app has anything other than "Processing Items"?
 
Ordered mine as soon as premier came back, which was about 650 EST.

No confirmation email. Just an email acknowleding that i placed an order.

It says as soon as 21st. No sure if thats a good or bad thing.

Paid amex, full amount pending.

I used the app and it all went through at 2.59am EST (7.59am BST) and mine is preparing for shipment!
