Apple's iPhone 5 Pre-order Shipping Estimates Slip to Two Weeks

Glad to hear you're home and ok. Not to get personal on a public forum but if sleep walking is new to you, and you've started taking any new medications, let your prescribing doctor know. Some medications cause this and can be a very dangerous side effect, as you've already found out.

Word to the wise
My experience with pre-ordering the 4s and then getting put at the back of the line while AT&T sold their existing stock to walk-ins taught me never to trust these phone carrier stores again. I'll buy mine directly at Apple when I'm good and ready to upgrade. I need to see and hear good experiences and a lack of hardware issues before I buy (I'll hand off the 4s to the wife and use her upgrade option).

Order 32 gb white and silver for Verizon at 3:55 am eastern time. All through checkout said delivers 9/21. Then bam I get an email saying 2 weeks until it ships. Now my order status is that it has processed and will be delivered oct 2.
Btw had my email confirmation at 3:58 am eastern time so all was confirmed before 4 am

I have the same deal, tho my confirmation is earlier than yours, but my delivery says 10/5. I'll wait till apple sorts it all out before I get angry tho. Not like u can speak with them anyway, they aren't accepting calls

All is good now. Definitely just a cut that needed stitches and nothing worse. And despite ordering way late, I checked the order status and the delivery date is Oct. 5th. (That may still be true if you order right now, but I'll live with that...3 weeks isn't too bad).
Well I initially got my confirmation email at 3:22am EST but had my cc denied cuz of red flags so then got it sorted out at 8:30am EST and got another email confirming my order was in process, I wonder if that's gonna put me in the bottom of the pile? Let's see how long their update is gonna take. Sites down for updates now.
Fortunately I live in a smaller city that has multiple ER's available, so the wait wasn't horrible, but still felt like a long time as precious pre-order minutes were vanishing! haha
Thanks for the tip on checking local retailers. I assumed everyone would be sold out, but its worth a shot to check them out!

Unfortunately it can't be linked to new medication, but I do appreciate the feedback/possible explanation. I'll certainly enjoy the upgrade to 5 from 4. Hope everyone else can be patient and enjoy theirs when they arrive as well! (Of course, I'll be tracking it every step of the way...but no need to pout over a couple of weeks)
Well, to their credit, 2 weeks from the street date is Oct. 2-5 week.
Here's hoping I don't get bumped back, still at 9/21 delivery...
Don't know why he couldn't choose unlimited data. I have AT&T, and ordered an upgrade through the Apple Store, and it didn't even ask to choose a data plan since mine already had the unlimited data. Ordered 2 phones around 2:05 a.m. Central Time, and they're both still showing as shipping on the 21st
What's funny about the order process was I had two laptops fired up to order both phones, but only one of the laptops actually let me into the online store. Even after I ordered the first phone, the other laptop wouldn't let me in.....I ordered both on the one laptop with no lag or issues. Apple must have a network management service that only allows a certain number of connections in, and once they're in, that IP or MAC address can stay in for a certain amount of time. That's all I can figure.
As for AT&T, I'd call AT&T and make sure the metered plan doesn't roll onto the account. You should be able to get it fixed, if not, call the retention/save department and start threatening to cancel.....that's the best way to get what you want with AT&T.
I'm going to stop by the Apple Store later today and see what they think. Will post what they recommend.
They'll recommend you buy the 64GB with sixteen extra cables, three cases just in case (no pun intended), and an iPad so you can connect the two.
just got pushed back to 9/28 for verizon
My order was in at 12:03 Pacific Time and earlier when I checked the status, it moved from 9/21 to 9/26, and I just checked again and it is 9/21 again.
Any other AT&T preorders get a text saying that their order has been processed and that they'll be notified when the order ships but the website still says processing?
I received order confirmation from AT&T at 9:27 AM EST

The website still says processing though. I haven't received anything to suggest a non 9/21 delivery so my fingers are crossed...
EDIT: just checked my Amex and I do have two pending charges from AT&T one for $1, which im assuming was something related to the hold, and one for the amount of the phone, Amex doesnt show the times though, just that they were both today.

I got a reservation at 12:15 pst and came back and got slipped to 2 weeks, too. However, I went in to change my shipping address and I now see the 21st as the delivery date. I guess it took a bit to update the reservation.
I ordered two iphone 5 64GB using my debit card. Holy cow! The total amount was ALREADY DEBITED by Apple Online Store!!!!*They used to wait until the product shipped before doing this, right? Or is that only if a credit card is used? Anyway, if people are using checking debit cards to order, look out! Check your bank account balance or your order will probably be cancelled if you don't have enough cash in your account when ordering.
