AT&T worked for me with no issues at all. Not one hiccup through the ordering process. Received two emails within 5 minutes. Second email had my phone numbers already listed.
You have to go to the store I was told I could do it over the phone. When the AT&T site and Apple site were not opening by 3:02 I went on the IOS app on my phone and got right in.
My confirmation email is time stamped 3:07am
The App was the way to go this time around.
Im using another upgrade within the family plan and all I had to change was the phone #. Of course I have to goto the AT&T store to have them switch it over to my phone#, done that a few times before. Man I know the line will be killer but at least I will have the phone and once I get to the AT&T rep it will only be a few minutes to get it switched.I must say they have improved in their knowledge a lot in the last few years... at least by me.
This is Apple creating the illusion that its super popular, and demand outweighs the supply. Meaning that they all sold out in the first hour means they limited the stocks to create this. Kudos to Tim Cook, he is a sales guy.
If my email says "Available to ship: Delivers 9/21" - Does that mean I was able to make it for the first wave?
Took me 30 mins to order, and was finally able to order around 3:30 set
"Apple is doomed because new iPhone is the same as old iPhone".......
First batch sells out in one hour in the middle of the night.
Say what you will about Tim Cook or how Apple is without Jobs around, but there are very few product launches that keep people waiting up late at night to spend a few hundred dollars. Not to mention the activity on multiple forums at such a late hour because of the anticipation and excitement for a product. Those are things Apple continues to do.
Should be. Wait for a bit till your order summery page (link in email) says processing. If it's still saying 9/21, you should be golden.
Well they've probably put a large number of phones aside for release day purchases in Apple Stores, VZW, ATT, Sprint stores, as well as Best Buy, Walmart, Target, etc. In the past its been way more limited places than this (meaning more stock available for preorder). If I recall correctly, it took the 4S until morning or afternoon time to start to slip. This release is going to be massive!
I own 30 shares of Apple's stock so I am staying up just to see how well it sells. I have the 4S and not breaking a contract although the 5 looks sweet.
AT&T's website was hit-and-miss. I got in once but then got kicked out and couldn't get back in. I ordered from the iPhone app in the nick of time to get it on the 21st.
att says my account is not eligible for upgrade until september 25 even though i haven't had a new phone since the day the regular iPhone 4 came out and it says contract has ended when i check the contract status on my account on att.com WTF?!?!?!?!
I'm guessing that stock will make you quite happy when Apple announces how many phones they sell over the first 12-24 hours.
Glad I got my order in. It still says delivers 9/21.
