See, I knew it would be like this. I'll wait 4-6 weeks and get one then. I don't want to order in a back order.

Still, I'm surprised a technology company always has so many issues (like with their site going down).

Scracity creates a buzz.. No one has ever heard of Samsung running out of phones to sell or lines anywhere. Heck, I don't even know what their latest phone is. OTOH everyone knows when Apple's phones are releasing with all the fanfare, publicity and even anger!

- Ordered at 0037 hrs PST on the iPhone Apple Store app using the 'upgrade eligibility path.

- Grey 6+, 128GB, ATT and it came out to estimated shipment of 7-10 days (10/1-10/6)

I'll definitely going to order via App from here on out.

I didn't realize the email would arrive hours late, so I just ordered this morning without using the reservation number because i was never sent a link. Can I fix this after the fact?

Not sure. Can you try canceling your other order?

That's why my 5S still takes better pictures than the new galaxy devices from this year... haha

I wouldn't exactly go that far, considering the Galaxy S5 had and still has one of the best cameras on a phone today. Don't know how it compares to the 6+ tho

My country - Switzerland - used to be amongst the first wave served by Apple after new releases. Now we get pushed back, even though we've always been a bastion for Apple, even during very tough times. Really disappointing. I'm not even sure when we'll get the iPhone 6; I'll probably only have my 6+ in December or so :(

Sales start on September 26 in Switzerland.

Quick sellout of Plus

I ordered two plusses back to back right at the start of sales from AT&T. The first one is already scheduled for an Oct 19th delivery. The second phone ordered just a couple minutes later is scheduled for November 1st! Wow that was a fast sellout.

In my experience both the 5s and the S5 have identical cameras. Neither worthy to a Nokia camera though. I expect the 6 will be really good, but will wait to see if it rivals the true leader in smartphone cameras right now.

Great, so the apple store had 4 hours of product and AT&T had 1 minute, I ordered right at 3 am on AT&T and 4-5 weeks. Just great

I'm starting to think that AT&T actually had zero of some of the 6 plus models. There was rumor of a manufacturing delay on these...

Pretty sure it's 1GB, which to me is disappointing. iOS could really benefit from an increase to at least 2GB. Apps are getting larger and more demanding and the hardware is going to bottleneck at some point.
......

It's just not needed. Both Windows Phone and iOS use a very different memory model than does Android. Android's memory model is VERY old and VERY outdated, so more memory does help it. With the other 2, the memory model allows for addressing and secondary storage (think swap file, but much much better.) that is extremely well done and very fast. I doubt you'd see a difference in performance with more memory right now.

I've seen several posts where people couldn't get the silver. I wonder if Apple went heavy on the gold and light on the silver since the gold sold out so quickly last time?

No because Silver is still available this morning. I think their system was messed up. Anyway, I decided to just keep the gold. Not that big of a deal really.

Keep checking the in store pickup option, I think it updates every night at 10pm. That is how I got my 5s - my ship date pushed, so I canceled and monitored the apple store pickup on the app and ended up getting the 5s 1-2 weeks after it was released, via in store pickup

good looking out...i'll do that...thanks.

Just going to throw this out there... Not griping, as I understand the supply chain, but wanted to bring up some discussion.

OK, Apple is the biggest company in the World right now financially. We put a man on the moon decades ago. (et al... etc etc...) Yet, the biggest company can't build enough product to meet demand? Just saying... :)

I really wanted to get a 5.5" iPhone but I'm just not impressed with the hardware. Still dual core, no 2K resolution, still the same 8MP camera from the 4S and paltry amount of RAM. I mean this is 2014 going into 2015 and Apple is pushing out a phone spec'd for 2012.

Bring on the 6S.......

No 2K resolution? Oh boy. The difference between 401ppi and 500+ serves nothing but to look pretty on a spec sheet and spout to your friends about "2K" resolution. Literally makes no difference in the experience of the phone at those pixel densities.

Tried apples website until about 3:15am Eastern Time then went to Verizon with no problems got a 64GB 6 plus SG with 9/19 delivery.

I am in central time. AT&T's site actually went live about 4 min early. I had my order completed and had a confirmed order number BEFORE 12 a PST. my ship date shows 10/22... + 128 space grey. Not happy. Will try physical store Friday morning.

So what if it's dual core if it performs as well or better than quad core androids?

And the camera isn't the same as the iPhone 4S. Megapixels hardly matter.

Anything more than 1080p on a screen this small is pointless.

You have a point with RAM though. 1gb is a joke if true.

Do you think the shortage of 6+'s has more to do with:

A. More people want the 6+ than the 6

or

B. Apple manufactured less 6+'s because they anticipated less people would opt for the 6+.

Probably a little bit of both.

I don't think the screen is a fair criticism either. I agree with the rest. I'm sorry but what kind of eyes do you have that need better than 400ppi?

I agree, I just think Apple should've gone 1080p on both and gave both models the benefits of the bigger screen the 5.5 got. Weak move not doing it.

I just got back from the ATT store. I went in person because of questions about my plan that the website couldn't answer.

Ordered iPhone 6 / 64GB / Gray. Shipping 9/22. I thought I would be picking it up at ATT store, but she said it was being shipped to my house.

Maybe I was lucky...but I've never pre-ordered an iPhone before. I went to the spiny store at 945. (They open at 10) pre-ordered a 16gb iPhone 6+. I was 2nd in line, out of 4. Maybe I was just lucky?

it sounds like apple is pathetic.
