still the same 8MP camera from the 4S

Do you know how cameras work? I'm going to go with no, otherwise you wouldn't have said what you just said :p

From someone who works with nice cameras, the iPhone 6 is going to have one of the nicest cameras out there thanks to the sensor in it.

It's the demand. And people in the heat of trying to be the first to purchase this device don't rationally think about it. Or they simply don't understand the "law" of supply and demand in the first place, perhaps due to age.

No man I don't need attention but to be up all night for nothing...why you don't go back to apple store and give everyone a hug and a kiss because it look like you very submissive how this pre-order was carried by a bunch of idiots at :apple:
Hey, dude, thanks for proving my theory.

It shouldn't be a huge surprise that the plus is in short supply. There were many prelaunch rumors of production delays and that it wouldn't launch until sometime after the 4.7. They decided to launch both models with what they had and I'm sure the factories are cranking out more as fast as they can.

No, we talking about me been up till 4am princess
Someone who stays up until 4 to buy a phone might be considered a princess. Someone who comes to an internet forum and throws a fit and lashes out defiantly a princess.

----------

I'm convinced they do this on purpose.
Whom are we talking about?
Apple
AT&T
Verizon
Tmobile
Sprint
MacRumors
and all the other companies that had their websites crash from demand in the middle of the night.
Yeah you nailed it

Slipping

Times are slipping fast.

I ordered my 128GB Silver 6+ from AT&T around 3:05 am (EST) and my email confirmation said it would ship in 14-21 days. Now the Order status page "Expected Ship Date:" changed from "Pending Confirmation" to 10/31/2014 To 11/11/2014.

I have a feeling this isn't the final ship window.

Anxious to get new tech but good thing I'm still enjoying my HTC One.

Dang, I hope this doesn't happen to me:eek::eek::eek:

I just checked my status as well with AT&T and it now shows the same thing. I'll have to think about what step to take next. Not sure I want to wait that long.

My country - Switzerland - used to be amongst the first wave served by Apple after new releases. Now we get pushed back, even though we've always been a bastion for Apple, even during very tough times. Really disappointing. I'm not even sure when we'll get the iPhone 6; I'll probably only have my 6+ in December or so :(

This was such a botched release compared to the iPhone 5 launch. It was a pain in the butt trying to get through last night but luckily I did and got a 64GB Silver 6+.

Has anyone tried to access their order status on Apple's site? I keep getting an error message "We're sorry. Something went wrong with your request." I would like to change my shipping address.

Yes, same thing is happening to me. Store is probably limping along still. I did a google search and it seems pretty common. Keep trying.

I ordered a 16gb 6 plus w/AT&T next last night at about 12:15am pacific time. This was through the apple store app. No option to pickup in store though. It looks like I was able to keep my old unlimited plan though... Figured with the switch to AT&T next I would lose my plan. Anyone else see this happen?

you are SO WRONG.... iPhone 6 won't have the NICEST camera...it will be iPhone 6s plus.

Apple sucks...can't even live up to high demands....
I thought they would have up 30-60 millions of iPhone ready....but i guess not...it's that same crap again..."shipping delay till 2 months" crap.

I placed my 6 Plus order 10 minutes after the page went live here in the UK. I'm on the 7-10 days list. Was there ever a 'Delivers 19/9' batch?

I struck out on pre-ordering last night, so for those who have lined up on launch day, I have a couple questions:

1) in general, how early do you need to get in line?
2) is there a limit to how many iPhones you can buy? I would need need one for me and my spouse.

Thanks.

Just my opinion, but I think it would be good to stop by the store when it opens and see how big the line is on the first day versus how many reserved spots they give out to people in line. I stood in line for 3 hours once only to find out that they were only going to give out like 4 reserve cards for the day. This was for 5s, which had some production shortages, might be better with 6, but save yourself the aggravation. Maybe wait in line the 2nd day.

Seems like a lot of people went the carrier website route and are now looking at delivery change times. Why was the apple site so much better? Mine is set to arrive on the 19th, I ordered around 12:20am pacific time

And this is a perfect example of why people preorder thru Apple Store.

why did anyone order from the carrier? this happens every year where their stock runs out in seconds and people who ordered through apple get their phone.

it's like you people like flogging yourselves

I ordered through my carrier and it's good thing I did, considering Apple's website crashed all to hell

Keep checking the in store pickup option, I think it updates every night at 10pm. That is how I got my 5s - my ship date pushed, so I canceled and monitored the apple store pickup on the app and ended up getting the 5s 1-2 weeks after it was released, via in store pickup

mine showed the same. so I attempted to cancel the AT&T preorder to preorder from apple instead. but the cancellation process is "pending" and apple won't let me preorder because my upgrade eligibility has already been used up.

This is a mess now. I'm done.

Megapixels DO mean something!

But just like Retina displays, once you hit a certain threshold, there is no need to keep increasing.

8 MP photos are more than big enough. Apple's focus is driving the quality of that 8 MP photo higher and higher.

Well, what I meant was MP mean nothing in a phone application beyond probably 6-8 MP. There's no difference. The sensors aren't big enough to need more MP. This is a phone, not a damn DSLR. I'd rather have less grain/noise than a useless higher MP count. My DSLR (1DX) only has 18 MP, and guess what? It's the best thing Canon makes. Better than their 22+ MP cameras. At a certain point, it's nothing but marketing. I'd rather they work on front facing camera quality at this point.

I guess I got lucky. I ran into some problems with them trying to charge me full price even though I was eligible for subsidized because I didn't realize my AT&T bill was due yesterday. I had to quickly pay my bill and then go back to the ordering page for the sub. price to come up.

I ended up getting the 64g iPhone 6 plus in silver with delivery on 9/19. My confirmation came in at 12:51am. After that, I decided to get one for my husband even though he wanted to wait and I was given a reservation for his because Apple couldn't connect to the carrier. Got his reservation link this morning and ordered at 8am.. silver 64g plus also with delivery on 9/19.

I did all of this through the apple store app on my iPad. I'm happy!

I was trying to order between 12:35-1:10 PDT last night. What a mess! The Apple Store App wouldn't take my verizon password, and neither would Verizon. I finally got the App to give me a reservation number, but there was no email.

Everything was working on Verizon when I woke up so I just ordered a phone, but it won't be here until 21 Oct (Maxed out black plus). Then I checked my email and they finally sent a reservation number

Question: Can I use this reservation number to speed up delivery of the phone I ordered this morning?

I was helped by one of the Apple store specialists (who was great btw) as he generated an order for me minutes before the store was available online and sent me the link - I placed the order immediately - they must have had no stock at all of the 128GB models as I was told 3-4 weeks.

Very disappointing when you make the effort to "get in there first" -

Ordered (from the UK) an iPhone 6+ with 128GB....

I managed to order the iPhone 6 Plus, Space Gray, 128GB at 8:32am, and I was told by e-mail "Delivery: 19/9 in most areas by Standard Shipping".

So I am a little concerned now after reading this forum post. I mean I didn't manage to get on the Apple website until 8:30am, but as soon as I was on the website it was straight forward and I had no problems at all.

All times are BST (British Summer Time)

Yes. Whatever the delivery date was when you made your reservation will be the delivery date once you process the order.

I didn't realize the email would arrive hours late, so I just ordered this morning without using the reservation number because i was never sent a link. Can I fix this after the fact?
