Anyone with reservations from the middle of the night in the US getting emails to complete your order? Any better ship dates?

Just one that updated mine to 4-6 weeks rather than the quote I got the moment orders went live at midnight. Which I kind of expected. I'm betting like last year, it gets up to at least 8 weeks.

Pretty sure it's 1GB, which to me is disappointing. iOS could really benefit from an increase to at least 2GB. Apps are getting larger and more demanding and the hardware is going to bottleneck at some point.

I really wanted to get a 5.5" iPhone but I'm just not impressed with the hardware. Still dual core, no 2K resolution, still the same 8MP camera from the 4S and paltry amount of RAM. I mean this is 2014 going into 2015 and Apple is pushing out a phone spec'd for 2012.

Bring on the 6S.......

All the people whining about how much RAM the 6 has: Please just go away. And don't buy one.

Preordered through Apple Store app to pick up in store on 9/19. Does anyone know if you have to wait on line to pick up online orders?

Preordering on Verizon showed deliver by 9/19 and the confirmation email shows deliver by 10/7.

Order status for AT&T preorder shows Expected Ship Date: Pending confirmation.

Im pretty sure you'll have to wait in a pre-order line at least. I doubt you'll be able to just walk in with your hand out and have your phone dropped in it.

Thank you. Ditto on the sapphire screen too.

RAM and resolution are fair criticisms but camera and chips have been vastly improved since the 4S. The "dual core" chip is about 2.5 times faster than the 2012 phones and the 8MP camera has likewise been improved significantly.

It's a common mistake because "dual core" doesn't tell you how fast each core is, nor how fast the GPU and other parts of the chip are. Also the "8MP" doesn't tell you how good the camera actually is.

Anyone try to change the shipping address after ordering from Apple? Can't do it because of AT&T, but is there any way to change it after the fact?

This.

It'll come when it comes. Bitching doesn't make it happen any faster. Last year I got an email from Apple when I ordered my 5s the moment it was available, saying I would have it in a few days. Then I got one saying sorry, 2-3 weeks. Then another saying "sorry, 4-6 weeks". Then one more saying 6-8. It arrived the last Friday of November, and I was still glad to see it. We all want to get our new toys right away, but that's just not how life works.

Time only moves slow if you sit and watch the clock and calendar. Find something to do, something else to obsess about, and it'll get there.

Couldn't agree more. My order was created at 8:44 gmt, according to the email. As I clicked through it said delivery 19/9 and by the time I'd finished the check out, it was saying 10/10-17/10. I could cancel and shuffle off to the store next Friday, but at the end of the day, it's a phone.... It'll get here when it gets here....

I don't think the screen is a fair criticism either. I agree with the rest. I'm sorry but what kind of eyes do you have that need better than 400ppi?

after spending an hour in the middle of the night i wake up to see that I could have just ordered the same phone and got the same delivery... sigh

I don't think you'd have slept very well if you were worried about getting one. I think I could still get what I ordered at 3am but I'm fine with it. Was worth the hassle. Apple undoubtedly have a shiitload of 4.7s available.

I am extremely disappointed in what occurred last night....Took nearly 45 min to successfully place and order, and by that time the 6 Plus had slipped to Oct. 1st delivery.

That is ridiculous. There is nothing more we could have done to ensure delivery on the 19th. Apple really let us down.

fail

I finally got through on AT&T's website around 12:10am PDT, ordered, and didn't my confirmation email until 4:22am....with a 3-4 week timeline. :(

Soon you'll be able to access your order to make the change in Apple.com. Be patient. I was able to do it on the 5.

I was up and in front my mac all excited 10 minutes before Apple scheduled to open their online store at 8am in UK. This is my 1st time pre-ordering an iPhone. Since I want a 6 Plus and this is reported in short supply, I setup express checkout the night before.

However, the Apple store was still down at 8:30am, by that time, I had to leave for work. about 10 minutes since I left the house, Apple Store went live. Thanks to the UK thread on this forum, I was alerted to this right away.
The time frame for the 6+ was already at 7 to 10 days. But since the express checkout did not work, and navigating the Apple site using a 5" screen. When my order was done at 8:45am, the delivery time slipped to 3 to 4 weeks.

So I done all the preparations, still end up with the longest delivery time because Apple don't know 1st thing about hosting web service.

Spent £700. NOT HAPPY!!!

Yep. My 5s is still perfectly fine, no scratches, scrapes, problems... I'd be glad if the 6 plus arrived tomorrow, but I'll be just as happy with the phone if it arrives in October, November, whenever.

I know some people are using phones that are on their last legs and really need a replacement.. But this is the way it goes with high demand smart phones. You either accept it, try your luck in store on release day, or get something else that'll arrive tomorrow. If you're already bitching, you've picked the wrong type of phone to order. This is how it always goes. Not only with Apple but with any premier/super anticipated phone, tablet, or computer. Shouldn't be a surprise.

The trick is actually to change your billing address on AT&T before ordering. But don't worry, you'll be able to change it on Apple.

Not happy with ATT right now

First, they logged me into someone else's account. Then, after trying a couple more times, they wouldn't let me update my email address in my profile due to being a new customer. Which is somewhat amazing since I have been with them for at least 15 years.

Then, when I got my order in at 3:03am EDT, I received a shipping estimate of 14-21 days. And last but not least, at the end of it all, I got a little notice on my receipt that says my new mobile share plan (that I did NOT select, since I have unlimited data) will start within 48 hours.

And now, I can't get through to ATT to try and get that reversed, although I'm pretty sure they will tell me there's "nothing they can do."

Should have just waited and gone with Apple, even though I never got in to the website.

Same here, i thought i was getting ahead. I was able to place my order on At&t for two iPhone 6 pluses at 2:40am EST. Got my conformation at 2:44am EST. And was shocked to see a delivery date of 10/02-10/13  Here i thought i was jumping ahead :p.

Guess i will just have to wait it out. Seems like it will be a gamble to get a 6 plus in store, you will prob have to get inline way earlier than i would want too. Hopefully my dates stay the same, if not maybe get pushed up a tad with people needing to cancel and credit cards declined. :D

Should have also used Apple, but i thought i was jumping ahead ordering with att 15 minutes ahead of the official pre-order.

I wasn't able to complete my order with AT&T until 4:05 Eastern. Beside my confirmation email, I received another email at 7:30 confirming a 9/17 or 9/18 delivery date.

Whew.

See, I knew it would be like this. I'll wait 4-6 weeks and get one then. I don't want to order in a back order.

Still, I'm surprised a technology company always has so many issues (like with their site going down).

I am assuming you got the 4.7" and not the plus right?

The 6 won't be a game changer, and yes I'm disappointed that they didn't go to at least 10mp but it really is a good sensor and megapixels aren't the only thing that matters.

I think the phase detection AF is one of underrated features of the iPhone 6. The iPhones already have been one of fastest smartphone cameras around in use and the improved focus time will really make a difference in everyday usage as a camera.

I do wish they have used a larger sensor but the fact they decided to add an extremely useful improvement rather than simply increasing the resolution was very nice to see.

Yes. (Not interested in the larger size.)

I would have ordered from Apple, but the app would only allow the gold version to be selected, and I wanted space grey.
