These folders look cool! Especially the icons! Nice work apple...you're gradually catching up with jailbreak apps...just with a nicer UI :p

Bit confused over local notifications....
Is it like this:
say for example the flickr app....it would send a local notification saying "upload complete" when it's done uploading?
What other uses are there for this?

I was thinking that - it is getting increasingly complex, and is moving away from being the 'simple' tool it started out as.

I will admit the iphone is much better hardware than the Pre but it can run chat/pandora/email etc at the same time plus it has an awesome notification system in the bottom tray that lets you see what is open and you can close/open anyone one you want.

Too bad Palm is in charge of it so that means WebOS will probably die but I would love to see more features included in the iphone OS.

They'll talk about how Apple adds things that their products should have launched with, while ignoring how these gradual upgrades allow for pretty much seamless experiences, no crashes, great integration with iTunes, etc.

LOL, there are many that agree with you. I can't tell you how many times I have had to argue with people in theses forums who said multitasking wasn't needed. Where are they today?

And yes to whoever said it'll make the iPad even more awesome! It certainly will!
