In 2.1 you should not need a app killer/task killer... android sleeps/wakes apps on demand... I have no idea how it is handled on previous versions

Oh you mean the version that HTC was taking it sweet ass time to release for the Hero? Yeah, that is why I sold it.

Read the above. I am hardly a "hater." I bought the damn thing didn't I?

Folders?

But, but...the message boards were all just complaining that the UI isn't changing!

So confused!

 (seriously, people. They're not showing everything at once, ok?)

Am I the ONLY person pissed about the UI looking the EXACT same except the dock? Even the lock screen looks the same.

You're assuming it hasn't changed. They don't let one announcement trump another. So any early demo will always be on a system configured to look like the "current" way.

Wow, that's a great feature I've never thought of or seen anyone mention. A little thumbnail folder of apps for less home screens.

So in Ver 4.0 it will finally be able to do stuff my Pre has done since it launched? Awesome!

At least my touch will be more useful around the house though.

Folders for Apps! COOL

It's cool that you can control Pandora and thusly every audio app through the lock screen. But I'm surprised there isn't a thumbs up and thumbs down on the lock screen for Pandora. Maybe they just didn't implement it yet.

You guys can talk about me and my family and how confused I am about my products.....

BUT DON'T EVER TALK ABOUT MY RED TEXT!!!!

Watch out

There are two things that I am really interested in here,

1) this is major upgrade so I want to see how many of the new services are going to be available only to the iPhone 3GS this will begin to tell us how long apple are going to let us run with an iPhone before bigger and better services demand an upgrade. Remembering here that in the computer business in general their products have a longer lifespan that their PC counter parts. Will be interesting to see if this is going to apply to their new and growing mobile business.

2). This will show us hiw closely the iPad and the iPhone operating systems are linked - when will the iPad see multitasking?

Surely there are things the iPhone does that the Pre doesn't? If the Pre didn't do anything the iPhone didn't then it would have no purpose for existing.

OK so
  • multitasking -- good
  • folders -- good
  • changing the springboard wallpaper -- easily the best 4.0 feature! ;)
