Well for one thing Apple fanboys always keep on claiming Apple doesn't copy other people. What I see is blatant copying and no innovation.

Fact! They all copy each other.. Apple to Microsoft, Microsoft to Apple, Microsoft from Xerox, who really cares? Innovation or imitation, who presents the best products in the end and does it best wins, and Apple really has shown some awesome stuff which am quite impressed about

10:52AM "Because iAd is in the iPhone OS itself, we have figured out how to do interactive and video content without ever taking you out of the app."

What?

i Do Not Want Ads In Apps That I Purchase!

Keep in mind this is a service that's optional. Have you looked at the apps on the AppStore right now? There are some with ads in them like AIM free and stuff (and places like Netflix with their video ads). This is just another option for developers to use instead of making their own or using someone else's.

Anyway, I called it! :D I figured multi-tasking would be limited to certain things being set to the background (no need to update the user interface of Pandora if you can't see it).

Seriously. iPhone devs already have access to ad networks. Apple is just trying to get in on the game. From a users perspective, it really doesn't change anything. Apps aren't going to be any different with iAds.

Uh oh - the iPhone 3G and the 2nd gen. Touch won't be able to multitask. I predict a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth about this. Good thing I have the 3rd gen. Touch and will be getting the new iPhone this summer.

Oh, and the iPad won't be getting OS 4 until the Fall. This board may explode.

Apple sells and hosts the adds, 60% revenue to developers... sounds like good incentive for devs to slap iAds in their apps, even paid apps. bleh.

My take is that there isn't really background multitasking of apps, just a bunch of OS services that new apps can request to be run in the background for them while they are suspended/frozen.
Nope, if you had followed the news it is the opposite. Probably there i a limit or or battery will explodes!!! But music will play, localizations, gps will continue, and many other things. Reread them

Oh, so Apple was the first bring a Live gaming service to a phone.

I understand now.

They just copied MS who were the first to bring the Live gaming service in general. Is it a good thing? Yes. It it copying an existing service from MS? Yes.

Time to retire my 1st Gen iPod. No 4.0 support. No multitasking on the 2nd gen, either...kinda surprising.

Do Microsoft phones currently have a game centre-type service?

I had no idea they did.
Technically Neither does iPhone... MS showed XBL running on WP7S. They actually showed a game that ran on all three of their platforms.

Uh, yeah... because no one else does game centers these days... especially on the iPhone. Oh wait, there's Open Feint... Plus+...

Does this run in the background ready to be access by the push of a button? No then I don't consider it to be a rip of XBL so much as a rip of P+ with matchmaking for online games.

11:02AM "And, we're bringing OS 4 to the iPad this Fall."

Well that was a fun event! Good to see that iPhone owners will be getting some cool features.
