I don't know why I can't find the value of iWatch. The technology of battery is not there yet for small gadgets like watches, glasses, etc. It the gadget is "smart", it won't last too long.

if you dont like go on the internet and complain.

Im pretty interested to see what apple has up their sleeve for this one.
Like it or not times are changing and apple is changing. embrace it or get left behind. :apple:

Watches are mostly jewelry and a status symbol these days. I don't wear a Rolex because it tells time better than a $75 Casio (it does not). I'm not going to replace it with a $200 plastic iWatch either.

And yet, Apple places their retail stores in similar locations to Tiffany & Co. and Cartier, with a similar walk-in demographic, and outsells both combined on a revenue per square foot basis.

True... Particularly, a $40 watch looks much more better... It just does "one thing" and does it well...

Why would you want anything else.

Apple should though re-think themselves.... They do make computers and everything else surrounding "fashion"

Maybe a company change ? It would be better suited. No need to mind the "true facts here"

This is not a situation unique to a smart watch.

Portable things run on batteries. Batteries hold finite charge. Deal with it.

Actually, my watch charges itself. It's worked non-stop for around 8 years so far.

There is a report that the rear facing camera requires a stronger flash and a macro lens to take photos of your forearm with stunning clarity....

I'm still not gonna buy it.
I hate jewelry.
It also feels like I'll be giving up even more personal data.
Insurance companies and the like are going to love this Big Data.

...plus advertising companies, following you round everywhere we go.

Its like your own personal snitcher.

(umm.. i always want done of those ) ...

Does Apple even care about reality anymore ?, or is it just "lets see all this new technology how much of it we can cram into a small device." Weather it sounds stupid, we don't care, just as long as you buy it.

Sounds like Apple to me :)

Damn, my imaginary iWatch only lasts 3-5 hrs between 100% and 30% of a charge, much like my real world iPhone 5 i have to be tethered to a charging point as soon as i finish commuting to work in order to make it home in time to charge over night

that's messed up. my iPhone 5 lasts the whole day. i charge it every night, but even when i forget, it makes it through the next day.

I'm not going to lie, as long as it lasts a full day with heavy usage I don't see it as a big deal. Throw it on a potential charging station next to my iPhone, pick it up in the morning. Just a very minor modification to my morning routine.

Do people still wear watches? With everyone running around with smartphones, I see this as heading in the direction of a downsizing market.
I think you're on to something. What the hell would you need an iWatch if you've already got all the same capabilities (and many, many more) on your iPhone or android phone. Also, trying to do anything on a touch screen that small is laughable. This kind of crap is destined for the kingdom of geekdom in a hurry.

I remember when this site was about Apple computers...:(

It still is about about Apple computers. Are iPads and iPhones not computers? Will this iWatch not be a computer? Just because they don't have physical keys, file systems, and dont run full versions of photo shop, doesn't mean they aren't computers.

I for one am glad that we are moving towards the wearable computer age. Apple and Google are innovating together yet as individuals. Those of you opposing either of these new creations(Google Glasses, iWatch) are what I call SAD.

The iWatch should be powered by some kind of fusion reactor coupled with the heat provided by the user.

Now I know why they changed the iPod Nano back to it's previous larger format.....

Not as a leap forward in design, but just to make space for another product..

It's funny cause I remember telling my friend that it was obvious why they they got rid of the square nano. Apple is about to do a watch. He laughed.....then I laughed too. Now here we are.

Running full iOS on this would be a huge error.

Running a full modern OS stack on a high volume product is Apple's monster competitive advantage. Palm, and the companies that copied their idea of a more primitive OS are dead or recovering from near-death experiences. Samsung is doing well because Google pivoted from a BlackBerry copy to more of a full iOS copy. Consumer electronic companies (and phone and TV and watch companies) can't just become great platform software companies. If the volume is big enough, profit margin high enough, and software done right can produce a valuable difference for the customer, that product area is ripe for Apple to attack it.

Do people still wear watches?

Currently, somewhere over 50 Billion dollars a year worth sold. You think they're only kept in drawers after spending that much?
