I'm getting tired of the marginal updates. The ipp is amazing BUT I really had to think hard about it because I have an air 2. Bought the ipp and used it through the trial period and found that it is amazing and I can finally leave my 15 at homeI was wondering what was going to come up interesting in the near future. Last 18 months I've been up for the iphone 6, then retina imac, rMB, watch, couple of ATVs and ipad pro. Can't see anything of interest to me coming up any time soon though... certainly nothing we know of in the next year
I was researching just that, apparently http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/appl...rs-release-date-arm-cortex-processor-3606039/ has better intel on it than over here.
There is a good chance it's going to be a S update, but the question remains if they'll showcase it and launch by April, or wait till September and thats a good 6 months wait! But as far as I know, with it taking time for health sensors + perhaps a round watch/new design, am hoping the 3rd watch will bring it in with 7S/+ in 2017 but again nothing is certain as we've no idea what refresh/product cycle Apple chooses.
I had Withings Activite Pop, it was surprisingly accurate for steps tracking and with the addition of no charging whatsoever plus added benefit of sleep analysis. (really detailed awake/light/deep)
But it's a hit or miss, with the cons being that without any luminescent watch hands it's really hard to read when not in a lit room and then there are the software glitches/updates from them, I believe a late November one made the internal battery die out which apparently was a bug that sent the false alerts, which reminds me when you do change the battery there is a slight chance you'll scratch the back (it's really not effective method even with the tool provided) and my watch now is either 20 mins ahead, or behind, even with constant resets and syncs it won't stay on proper time.
Sorry I rambled lol.
My 2 cents, it's worth a try till the battery lasts for 6-7 months, also I won't recommend spending on the more expensive versions just yet.
I would really like an Apple watch 2 but I can see the motivation to hold a 'super September' event and release the redesigned IPhone and Watch together.
Oh good. So when Apple releases the follow on version, they can "simply" call it the iPad 2, right?I think what will happen eventually, if not immediately, is this. There will be only two lines: iPad and iPad Pro. The current mini 4 will drop that designation off and simply be an iPad (7.9"). The current Air 2 will drop that designation also, and be simply an iPad (9.7"). The iPad Pro line will consist of the current 12.9" model, and the new 9.7" model to be introduced. The mini 2 and Air will cease to be sold. Maybe a "price surprise" for the better for consumers to kick start sales again, and that's about it. Making them all Wi-Fi plus cellular at WiFi-only prices would be one way to give us all a break, instead of the shaft....er, instead of the Apple tax! We'll know soon I guess.
Highly unlikely since Intel has yet to release a mobile skylake part with iris pro.15" Skylake rMBP or bust.
Apple will be really screwed if that ever happens.
Typical Macrumors. The device hasn't been presented yet, but people already know that it is pointless. So another iPad also dubbed as the iPad pro and also 9.7"?
Customer One: "Well I have the iPad Air 2, what do you have?"
Customer Two: "The iPad Pro."
Customer One: "But it looks exactly the same as mine, what's the difference?"
Customer Two: "You can purchase a $100 Apple Pen to use with it, and it costs $200 more than yours."
And meanwhile, the "rotting" Mac is still gaining market share. And how is this any different than the past 3 'events'?
Thinner, faster iPad, iPhone something, Apple Music this or that, some accessory.
Meanwhile the Mac lineup rots on the vine.
Can't wait for the stock to skyrocket...
We have some VERY exciting products to announce today!
iPhone SE: It's almost as good as the 6S, but smaller, with an older design!
iPad 3: It's almost as good as iPad Pro!
One Last Thing!
More Watch Bands! Also, we've updated the software so you can (buy and) wear multiple watches that do the same exact thing!
Can you imagine how disappointing this event will be if there is no Macs?
Thanks for the update. So that goes to my original point, at most it will be a processor bump, and that typically isn't even a footnote at such events.
Personally, I don't expect the rMB to get an update until the iPhone 7 comes out, and they replace the 3.5mm jack with a Lightning port. That will be news.

What do you expect from a new Mac? Faster processors? Really? There's a reason why people don't buy a lot of new PCs anymore: For quite a while, processors have been fast enough for the vast majority of mainstream applications. So if Apple introduces a new generation of faster Macs, what exactly can they do that the last generation couldn't?
I got the fastest Mac Mini from the previous generation's lineup, and I can't see myself needing anything faster anytime soon. Apple introducing a new generation would just mean that in a couple of years, a new OS X version will obsolete my Mac. I am not unhappy if that doesn't happen.

if the 9.7 will be a pro will the current ipad pro become the ipad pro plus?
it'd be ironic to see them in starbucks, then.
Most idiotic comment ever.Best. Comment. Ever.
Think of it akin to the rMBP line. You have two sizes - 13" & 15" but both just called rMBP. And no numbering system either. It's time the iPad / iPhone branding take a page from Apple's laptop line.
They would be fireworks - not in the CPUs but in the GPUs. But of course the new 16/14nm GPUs could appear only at the higher price points.Exactly. My riMac 2014 is still very quick indeed. The 2015 update was tiny and I hardly expect fireworks from the next one. Obviously if you're in the market for a serious new laptop then a Skylake rMBP is worth waiting for, but I can't see anything earth-shattering coming up for either rMB or riMac, both of which are absolutely fine and not worth ditching for 10-20% speed increase. I'm not even convinced yet that the iphone 7 will be worth ditching the 6 for...
apple would be fine. They would just have to change their business model
"Re/code has confirmed the new date"
I am sorry but the only one who can (has the ability to) 'confirm' is Apple. Anyone and everyone else can ONLY add to the rumor.
Remember when the first Retina MacBook was the 15"?Wait a second. 9.7 inch iPad called "iPad Pro"? Huh?
Not sure why you think we'd ever know the official date from anyone besides Apple. Hence why the website is called MacRUMORS, not MacOFFICIALNEWS. Don't be so uptight![]()
