Android users: "Let's give this app one star just because we hate Apple and iOS and not because we have a legitimate reason to give it one star!"

I know right, it's unbelievable... there are tons of fandroids writing that they downloaded the app only to give it 1 star... I feel pity for them, really.

Come on let's be fair Apple fanboys are just as bad. Fanboys are fanboys on both sides of the fence.

No, Apple fanboys are nothing like this. Okay, maybe a few are but not thousands like this. Show me the comments and/or reviews from Apple "fanboys" attacking an iOS app simply because it's developed by Google.

Some commentors here are getting as rabid as those 1 star reviewers. And to be fair, you would do the same to a move to Android app.

14k out of 17k of the reviews were 1 star, according to the screen shot posted above. I think it gives an idea the percentage of the insecure fanboy bunch. It really is sad.
No disagreements on the insecure fanboy part. But my point is that a very small percentage of the overall number of Android users left reviews. As with most groups of people, the rotten apples (pun kind of intended) spoil the whole bunch.

That said, I do think the behavior of Android fanboys is worse than that of Apple fanboys, as a whole. Most Apple fanboys would rather religiously promote Apple products, while most Android fanboys prefer to bash other products and the people that use them. And yes, sometimes it is vice versa.

But again... most Apple/iOS and Google/Android fans are normal people that don't take things to an extreme.

To be fair, we're talking about an app that's somewhat insulting to Android users, in essence saying "your platform sucks, come to ours". Google apps by contrast are well designed and useful to iOS users.

Just had a look myself on the Apple App Store at Google apps. Here are the review scores. Bear in mind 'Move to iOS' is currently rated at 1.7/5

Youtube - 3/5
Google Search - 2.5/5
Google Maps - 4/5
Google Earth - 3/5
Chrome - 3/5
Gmail - 3.5/5
Google Translate - 4.5/5
Google+ - 4.5/5
Google Drive 4.5/5
Snapseed - 4/5
Chromecast - 3.5/5
Hangouts - 4/5
Google Docs - 4/5
Google Sheets - 3.5/5
Google Authenticator - 4/5

I'm willing to bet Apple Music will be rated similarly to 'Move to iOS' when that comes out on Android.
Did you even read my post? I never said Google apps didn't have good ratings. But Apple users have left the same ridiculous reviews that Android users have. Apple users are not immunue.

If 17k have downloaded and installed and used the 'move to iOS-app'. Then obviously they want to swap to IOS. Or what's going on in their heads........

True. Of course you're going to get sour grapes on both sides. The difference here is the proportion of one to the other. Proportionally, Android users have proven to be worse, which is reflected in the rating.

I just read through a bunch a of reviews of Google Search and didn't find anything as insane as the ones left for Move to iOS. So whatever point you're trying to make, its' incorrect.

Most android haters on this forum haven't touched an android phone for more than a few seconds, if ever. It doesn't prevent them from spitting ******** about it.
How is that different, exactly?

Apple Music for Android should follow Material. This app shouldn't follow Material, it's a person's first step into iOS, transferring their data to their new iPhone. They aren't even downloading this app unless they've already purchased an iPhone. It makes much more sense to make it look iOS.

A community should not be judged by its zealots. The vast majority of Android users don't care one way or the other, just like the vast majority of iOS users don't care one way or the other. The fanboy is dumb and makes very little sense except that they will bash what they do not understand.

tl;dr nothing to see here move along.

Agreed but I doubt they will for Apple Music. I can't imagine how bad Apple Music will look on Android with the iOS design language...

wow...bet Apple music on android wont see the light of day or be really bad. There are many conflicting reports of the success of amusic.

Also, for you iOS people that dont know anything about Android. Motorola, Samsung, and HTC make programs to move you from iOS to Android. Motorola from what I heard being the best.

A rebranded app just shows that apple is not committed to anything outside their products. Taking shortcuts (again) where it can. Have some pride in your work.

Google shows that it can dominate both systems with their services/apps. Dont kid yourself by saying the Googles services are bad. If they are delete your Google ID along with your services. Sounds like the same argument that you have with MS Office. Try to get things done with the outside world with iwork.

C'mon man.

Just b/c its an Android app doesnt mean apple should half ass it. In fact it should be one of Apple's best apps as to give prospective customers an example of what Apple is all about.

Throw that same logic to Microsoft who for years has purposely screwed over Mac users with horrible and anemic versions of Mac Office while charging the same price for an excellent and full featured version for it's Windows customers. Hmmm.

I'm a teenager and most people in my school use iPhones, and almost everyone who has a tablet uses iPad. And although there are some cheap androids, there are alsp expensive ones as well, on par with the iPhone. Also, how does an OS show how technically savvy you are? Both android and iOS can get complicated.

Yhere's a LARGE market outside US, and also a large population outside suburban upper middleclass high schools.

And iPhone is not the most prominent smart-phone among teenagers here, mostly because its so expensive, not necessarily because people wouldn't want one.
Some parents don't buy their teens the most expensive gear.

Yes, I'm aware that there are expensive androids. That's what I said in my original post. I just said that apple doesn't have such a large market share among people who look for a a more affordable option. And I didn't even imply most of expensive phones sold are iPhones anyway.

OS doesn't show how technically savvy are you (did I really imply that?), but it is probably linked to your education which is probably linked to your income/social class.
And age group as well. Not every teenager has their own income or parents that can afford it.
