I agree - and the price tag simply isn't justified for what it is. They've left a gap in the market where the old nano used to be (for form factor, not price), which is a shame.

For me the best nano is a toss-up between 4th and 5th gen. 5th gen has radio + camera, but I preferred the interface on the 4th gen :)
 
at least ill be able to get a 5th gen for really cheap now....
 
no camera, no accelerometer, smaller screen, worse interface, + clip and multitouch that you cant use in a useful multitouch way = amazing. also does it have a mic and speaker anymore?
 
Camera!?

Wow the iPod Touch can capture an HD video but not a photo. This is ridiculous!
 
I have been waiting to buy an ipad since april, the biggest thing I am waiting for is facetime, when do you you guys think next gen will come out? and will it have facetime?
 
That's a lot of games I'm never going to buy.

I'll see if Fry's has a fire sale on the old Nano since it has the camera.

The commercial did it. I just ordered an iPod Nano. 16Gb in Silver. And of course, refurbished previous generation.
 
Interesting

Love the touch. Continues to an amazing tiny portable computer. The addition of facetime heralds the end-around for the telcos.

Don't understand the nano...seems weird and useless to me. The clickwheel is still a better interface than touch. My iphone is a worse ipod than my classic was (despite being awesome in a ton of other ways). Apple went wrong with the shuffle when they got to fancy and dropped buttons, and they fixed it. I suspect they will fix the nano again next year, because this year is lame.

And the shuffle now returns as the greatest exercise companion.

With Airplay - can you stream your movies to the iPad? Is this competition for the peerless Air Video?

The goal was to create a greater gap between the Nano and Touch. But the memory and price are the same as the previous gen so no one lost anything. You just expected more memory and didn't get it.

I'm happy the old shuffle is back. I love the design. Anytime I head out to cut the grass or go for a run I clip it to the back of my hat and put the earbud cords in my hat. LOVE it. :D

Everyone expects memory to double year after year. Who doesn't??

I love the shuffle too. That was a perfect design for that thing, and I'm buying one next week for lawn mowing as well.

That is what having a concealed handgun is for as you run on the park -- mostly young beautiful women. Heard it best like this.

Entire town undergoes genetic tests only to find the rapist is not in the DNA database since he is an illegal immigrant. She undergoes state sponsored counseling and put on bunch of mood calming medications. Lady gets on a few daytime television shows and is recruited into a victims political group.

One of the 38 Right to Carry States in the USA: Woman on runs in park. She is attacked. Woman pulls out handgun and shoots rapist dead. Woman gets cash reward for the rapist since he was on the lam for over a year. Woman upgrades handgun to one that is more lady like with some pink and bling on it.
 
People actually watched video on the iPod nano? I have a 3G iPod nano and I've never watched video on it. Never. Music only.
 
The iPod nano is a POS. No video, no camera, and the size of the shuffle.

The iPod touch, OTOH, is AWESOME!!
