That little nano is kind of cute. It's growing on me. I don't need it, though. Well, maybe I could use it. I like the all touch-screen miniaturized mojo. Yes, I need one! So, um, so I don't run down my iPhone battery listening to music!

The RDF...too strong...cannot resist...must buy...

Yep, I caved immediately, got the orange one. Square, so cute, like a shuffle with a face!!

I wonder how these will see, now there are two "shuffles" out. I personally prefer a nano with a clickwheel, but I don't really care much for the video camera. I wish it had a built in accelerometer though, switching the screen orientation every time seems kind of annoying. Plus I don't have a lot of album art, not interested in this new nano.

Well, I might be not from the States and live very near England, but if I was the judge, the woman would get caught for murder. If she just made the rapist unconscious, now that's another story. But murder is still murder in my eyes.

* And no, the rapist wouldn't either get out free. Imprisonment for X amount of years. Or therapy, which I think helps more.

On-topic: Something says me if I buy either the iPod Shuffle or the new and often joked iPod Watch, it'll get lost quite soon. Those things are small. They can get everywhere when my house's a mess. (and that is often. :D )

Not in US courts. In the USA many people have not even been changed when it was discovered that they were being attacked with intent to rape or kill. If the attacker has any form of fabricated or improvised weapon or a criminal history, shooting to kill in self defense is perfectly legal and in fact a "privileged act" where they cannot even be sued by third parties for any damages defending ones self.

Many states also have "stand your ground" laws where if someone is trespassing on your property with malicious intent, you can legally shoot them dead without the need to retreat to another room. This makes people polite and think twice before doing any crap like that.

hey quick question

does the ipod touch have fm radio?

No it does not. That was I was hoping to hear with the upgrade. There are many third party attachments that have FM radios for the iPod Touch. I think one is bundled in with a larger battery for and extended life. They may have not put it in over the "Antenna gate" issue.

Can you imagine if they enabled comments to those official ads on youtube. Thankfully they turn them off.

I have owned Ipod Nano generations 2, 3 and 4.

Only reason I didn't get a 5 was that my generation 4 was 16 gig and the camera ect was not enough to upgrade. Memory is the key. I hoped with no memory upgrade last year it meant there'd be a big one this year. Sadly no.

I will not get the new Nano. For me memory is key. I assume for most it's the same.

I have an ipod touch and I hated the touch for a music player and the size was too big. The exiting Nano was a perfect size and design. Why couldn't they have just put more memory into that?

Even though I like the click wheel I probably would have been suckered in to buying the new nano if it had more memory.

Seriously a nano 4/5th generation with 32 gig would be perfect!

Touch and Classic are too big for pocket use. Once I got a nano I could never go back to a classic.

Am I wrong in wondering if they're trying to push a push to the touch because of things like the app store?

Two straight years with no Nano memory increase is pretty bad. Moore and his law would be rolling around in their grave.

If it is not in development yet, a wristwatch band made for the new Nano should be made. Hell, this gives new definition to the big belt buckles worn in the western States.

THIS IS AN INSANE IDEA! OMG OMG OMG... i want to get one just to have like a watch thats an ipod nano... fkn gangster

I will be sticking with my iPod Nano 4th too as thats 16GB. Im not sure on the new design myself, but its wild as promised!

Funny isn't it? File sizes continue to increase yet apple tries to squeeze by year after year with no capacity updates. Perhaps a 32GB version will come by as a mid year update.

Yes they are pushing iOS devices because its a continual profit platform for apps as well as music and videos.

A bit disappointed with the iPod nano...

But at least the iPod touch got a camera. ;)

At least they didn't go backward in memory size like the Shuffle did. I can't believe they are still giving it 2GB - a step back from the 4GB last gen.

?

Antennagate affects 3G signal - it has nothing to do with any other reception, this would not affect an FM radio in anyway, and the iPod doesn't feature an external aerial. I'm pretty sure the FM radio will be there on the iPod touch if it exists on the nano - will wait for my new toy to arrive before confirming.

Am I alone in hating the new nano? The last generation finally got it right. The previous generation with that touch screen would have been fantastic, but to remove the video camera and form factor is a big turn off for me.

The form is not significantly different enough to the shuffle, it's tiny to handle and I think Jobs would have had an issue with that screen if he wasn't able to hold it by the 16pin connector plugged into the bottom.

It looks small, cheap and difficult to use - i was not convinced by his scrolling at the demo, it looked to be a nightmare with a large music collection.

The clip makes it feel even cheaper, like a shuffle with a screen.

I don't think this one is a keeper.

Cnet.co.uk says 0.7mp according to the max resolution of the lens.

Yes, I laughed too. And it explains why the pixel count isn't listed anywhere! Still going to buy one though...and only £60 (or £20) more than a nano...you get SO much for that extra coinage. Seems ridiculous to consider a nano actually...although it is cute.

It actually is listed on the Apple website.

No built-in mic on iPod Touch - what were they thinking??!?!?! Now have to use headphones to use FaceTime - WTF!

Apart from that ... a good update I think! :)

Uuh what? It has a built in microphone. Right next to the camera. Where do people get their infos from?

Nopes you're not alone. As a huge nano fan, what I want is more memory and the design and size of the last couple of generations has been perfect. I even really liked the gen 3 one.

Design is one thing, but you know what if it had more mem than the last 3 generations of nano i would have gotten one and dealt with it.

As someone that bought 3 nano's 3 years in a row, held of last year because of no memory increase.. it's just yeah not appealing.
More Memory is what I want.

The appeal of the shuffle was that it was small. Yes there's the price point but it seems nano is now for people that want as small as they can but with more functionality.

Nano was a practical small size with good functionality and decent memory. That's now gone.

RIP iPod nano. Now it is like a rich iPod shuffle, with no video playing capabilities(REALLY?), no video camera... the 5th generation was the best.

Yup, completely agree. The nano ad screams, "Look at me. I'm a clip-on shuffle with a touch screen!"

Checked Best Buy's prices on the 5th Gen. They've dropped, but no really enough for me to pull the trigger. DEFINITELY going to buy one though. Maybe two since they're going to be the last great mp3 player of our generation. :)

FaceTime Revolution

I can just see all the kids getting an iPod Touch this Christmas so they can sit in their bedrooms and FaceTime chat with their friends over wifi without it costing them a penny.

Even in that advert, the new Nano looks so difficult to operate, unless it's the cameraman touching the girl. There must be a better way to represent such an awkward product, without making its downfall so obvious.

I hope so. Then I wouldn't have to get the unlimited everything plan on our cellphone package.
