interested in the MagSafe duo, I find it odd that there's no mention of it at all on Apple's website.. Curious to see what the price is going to be.
If my iPhone sticks to the puck when I lift it (like Chevy Chase's sappy fingers glued to the magazine in Christmas Vacation), then what's the point? How is that even "wireless?"
The sizes are completely different. Pack your glasses last and you shouldn't confuse them.I can't wait to confuse this with my watch charger while packing.
Anybody see the weird Apple Pencil-like pad below the power button on all 4 models? Wonder what that could be used for as they didn't even mention it in the event. Could it be another one of those "extra tech" features like they did with the AirPods Pro where they introduce new hardware features later on?
Get the new dual charger once it is released. Also I think the Qi charging is only on the phone end. The MagSafe charger is proprietary. So phone will work on Qi charger, but the MagSafe won't charge a Qi compatible device.I just bought a new pair of Airpod Pros. Is this MagSafe charger "backwards-compatible" with Qi? Or will I need two separate wireless charging stations for the Airpods and new iPhone

MagSafe cant be dropped onto like a wireless charger so its pointless it should have a desk base

I hope so, otherwise it’s a £40 cable not a charger.Does it come with a charging brick or is that separate?
Nope, check the other side. Sim tray is on volume side, the new pad is on the power button side. The sim tray that's been on every iPhone?
I'm talking about that pad on the side, underneath the power button... shouldn't have anything to do with magnets.I think it is for proper alignment of the phone with the pad. The magnets should snap the phone into place and only do so in one orientation.
I’m pretty sure 3rd party MagSafe will be allowed. They showed a Belkin prototype on one slide.
I wonder if this can also charge Qi equipped phones as well
Not present on iPhone 12 ProI'm talking about that pad on the side, underneath the power button... shouldn't have anything to do with magnets.

What do you mean? I'm envisioning these similar to the AW chargers where they just stick onto the back.
I'm also curious how strong the magnets are, would be great to see them strong enough to stick onto a car wireless charger.
