Wow! Wait wait wait! 7.5W on third party chargers??? iPhone 11 Pro supports 10W!!! I hope that the info is somewhat wrong, otherwise is a very lame decision!

I still can't find what is useful on this charger... do you place it on your desk and then you place an iPhone on it? Is it heavy enough to stay on the desk if you move your iPhone close to it or are the magnets stronger, so the charger will hit the back of the iPhone?

Weird product...
Best used integrated in a stand, same as AW. I'd still use a 20W wired, faster and probably still better for battery life.

I can't wait to confuse this with my watch charger while packing.

Yeah, one time on a trip I pulled out what I thought was my Apple Watch charger and it was an Oreo cookie with a string stuck to the delicious creamy center ...

Surprisingly, it still charged my phone.

I'm talking about that pad on the side, underneath the power button... shouldn't have anything to do with magnets.

That's interesting, it looks like the same material as the antenna breaks, maybe it's some kind of non-conductive/non-blocking "signal window".

I can tell you what's useful about it easily. My Belkin wireless charger (thankfully comp'd by Apple for my troubles) requires me to get the right "G-spot" to activate charging on my iPhone 11. Very frustrating. Now it just sits on my table doing nothing because I don't have the patience to deal with it. I thought it would be simple as sitting the iPhone on it and charging begins. Nope.

If my iPhone sticks to the puck when I lift it (like Clark Griswold's sappy fingers glued to the magazine in Christmas Vacation), then what's the point? How is that even "wireless?"
I came here to make or look for this exact comment. It really is no different than unplugging the cable from the port. In that sense, i still prefer 'regular' wireless chargers. I suppose a crude workaround is to put some double sided tape underneath the charger...

Anybody see the weird Apple Pencil-like pad below the power button on all 4 models? Wonder what that could be used for as they didn't even mention it in the event. Could it be another one of those "extra tech" features like they did with the AirPods Pro where they introduce new hardware features later on?

I noticed that as well ... Interesting

I just love all the negative comments. Had this MagSafe charger been put out by Microsoft or Samsung then the naysayers would be like, "Hey Good Job Microsoft" "Excellent work Samsung" "Apple take notice!!" So obvious people here are purposely being hateful simply because it's Apple. It's just another charging option. Get over yourselves.

Not sure if this question has already been answered, but can anyone confirm if the iPhone 12 is compatible with the generic wireless charging pads like the Mophie.

The Mophie Charging Pad, Belkin Boost and Native Union pads that Apple sell don‘t list the iPhone 12 as compatible. Thought this might be an oversight, but the Lightning Dock for example does say that dock is compatible.
