Hey, I feel totally the same way, but I'm a realist. Apple is a company just like any other, so they're gonna try to produce their low end machines with as few options and the least expensive standard parts that they can get away with. That means the less expensive glossy screens are probably gonna be the only choice on Apple's low end machines from now on.
The problem with this line of reasoning is that Apple's prices don't put them anywhere near "low end" as far as the computer market goes. I understand that we're paying a little more for OS X and Apple's attention to detail and their design savvy, but even Apple's so-called low-end machines carry mid- to high-range price tags compared to the rest of the PC world. My question is how much longer will Apple continue to charge those prices when they don't beat the options available to buyers of PCs.
I have bought Apple products for years and years, but if Apple cuts back the options for its buyers, they need to bring their prices down. One or the other, but it's completely unreasonable of Apple to cut options and quality and continue charging the higher prices.
