I predict lots of innovating hype-talk, then a slightly thinner MBP with a slightly faster processor, a slightly better screen and a slightly improved battery life.

Is anyone even slightly excited by an OLED button strip? That's about as innovative as putting a coloured LED inside a toaster.

Maybe the innovation will be that they are going to start selling MS hardware with OSX installed?

I'll reserve judgement (not), but I can't help but wonder (here it comes), if all they're releasing is a MacBook Pro with 4 USB-Cs, no SD slot, no Mag-Safe, only slightly faster processor, slightly better screen, with this new oled bar.. why did it take so dang long? I mean, really. Not to mention this "update" seems way out of touch from what any "pro" consumer would want in a laptop.

Surface Studio made my head explode yesterday. Meanwhile, Apple's over here with a laptop and desktop product line that makes me reminisce over the last 8 years. Ouch.

This had better be extremely good.

A post-event musical guest will not wash the pain away, either. It doesn't have to be this way.

After yesterday.... it really needs to be something special.

Some of that "amazing product in the pipeline" seriously needs to get out!
Apple has hit a very rough patch in the past month. If they don't renew the whole Mac line and put out that monitor, they will have a worse slide into early 2017.

Anyone with eyes saw this coming since 2013. I suspect it will worsen for another year or two, before someone corrects the slack job Apple is doing with product refresh. Perhaps the new campus will help pull efforts together a little better.

I'm surprised at Apple. I thought rather than the conventional check back soon page they have online, they would go with a live stream before the event from the start of business hours on the 27th. at least - you know the sort of thing, filmed footage of the event site being prepared, sound tests, interviews with anticipating fans taking their last day of holidays gathering in groups outside, footage of birds perching on the roof top and then flying away again, etc; etc.

It would add so much to the anticipation for some. :p

Apple I believe has stated no new iMacs for this event (or at least its been rumored that there will not be)

you have a link, even on this site, where it says apple has stated no new iMacs? this site's round up of the event still says it's a possibility. given the peddling of rumors we're all engaged in here, i'm holding out hope we finally get to replace our old warhorse of a 2007 iMac. updated the internals twice to keep it alive, but it's about time to send our dear ol' friend to the apple store in the sky.

Nice,

I usually head into the office on Thursdays, but with the media event, I suddenly had an issue at home that required me to stay here :D

Now I can watch and not look over my back

I just tell the staff in my office that I am taking a late/long lunch at home and not to disturb me.
