While Apple may have known some details of what MS was going to do, I don't think they really have any response, given the short time span between yesterday's event and Apple's today.
I agree, though MS was swinging for the fences with the Studio and while its not a perfect machine, the gaunlet has been thrown down and Apple needs to respond, if not today, soon.
An intersting side note, during the earnings call, one investor called put Cook and asked what was apple's strategy, and instead got an answer about what great products they have in the pipeline. So they didn't communicate any sort unified strategy as a company and again only gave obtuse answers.
I bring this up here, because we'll be seeing Apple showing off their latest products and they need to present an image that they a focused strategy and that they are continuing to innovate.
