Right but there wouldn’t be that much of a difference in price if Apple lowered their fee in price point.
I agree YouTube are shameless, but what do you know, YouTube are a greedy company.
We could outlaw discriminatory pricing practices so that YouTube cannot sell for different prices based on how/where the consumer wants to purchase. This is already the case in Europe where retailers cannot charge different prices based on whether the customer wants to pay by cash or card.
It’s not about YouTube being shameless it’s about if you pay for it through iOS you are paying a premium because of apples 30% in app purchase charge
YouTube could chose to charge the same price on iOS as it does on its website. It chooses not to, presumably because they are being greedy.
So your logic is this YouTube value their product at let’s say 11.99 right
That’s a YouTube problem, not a me problem. All I see is YouTube trying to gouge iOS customers by charging them more for the same service. YouTube need to work out their finances so they don’t have this discriminatory pricing. At the minute it’s a bad look for YouTube.

Think about it so a company values a product at a certain price point say 10.00 every else & if they charge that on iOS in app purchase they would make about 6.00 because of inapp purchases & that’s the problem

YouTube are trying to pass the cost of shopping on iOS onto the consumer instead of swallowing it themselves. That indicates they value their profits more than they value the customer.
That’s because you’re not getting it.
That’s the cost of doing business. It’s like YouTube has to pay for internet bandwidth, staff, infrastructure, it’s a cost of doing business. YouTube have to take all the costs of doing business and come up with a price for their product based on that.
No it’s showing you how much additional they have to charge on iOS hence why Netflix no longer do it but you can subscribe to them through other platforms
Any cost they have to pay to be on iOS should be spread amongst all customers so that users are not discriminated against based on how they want to purchase the product. It gives these companies a bad name by charging different amounts for the same product.

The 12.00 should already include cost of doing business on iOS. YouTube then charging more to iOS customers is just greed because the 12.00 already includes that cost.
It’s very simple to grasp if they keep the product the same price on iOS as on the website then on iOS they a losing money on said product because they have to pay Apple 30% inapp purchase that’s the argument
So they haven’t priced their product properly then. Sounds like the price needs to go up for everyone if YouTube can’t cover their costs at the price they are selling at.
But if that’s the case & YouTube value the product at that price then on iOS they are losing money on said product because of the 30% charge
If they are losing money selling the product at 12.00 then they need to increase the price.
