Either this guy is Troll or he needs to seriously consider having his eyes checked at his doctors.

He could be trying to outdo TH55, or maybe he *is* TH55! One new thread per day has to be some kind of record. I wonder if he can sustain that kind of effort.

----------

That's impressive. Been here since 2010 and I don't think I even have 65 posts let alone threads...

I've been here since 2002 and have only started four threads--one because I had a problem, two to sell things in the marketplace, and one to make fun of people who start threads like these.

I've had every iPhone since the 3G.

One 3G replaced due to chrome rim coming away from plastic.

3GS perfect.

4 perfect.

Two 4s's replaced one for some kind of speck under glass. One for defective earpiece.

One 5 replaced a few weeks before warranty expired due to a defect that developed in the camera (dust and red blob).

Two 5s's replaced. One replaced on release day in store as I opened it and noticed a nick in the chamfer. One replaced due to loose battery a few weeks before warranty expired.

6 so far so good and is perfect in every way.

What does it tell you? It tells you that Apple looks after its customers. And I will come back to the iPhone every time, because I know, that if I ever have a problem with it they will look after me with the least amount of fuss and hassle.

Try saying that for any other tech company. I had a Samsung Ativ S that was defective out of the box and it took them a month to replace it. A month of non stop hassle.

Either this guy is Troll or he needs to seriously consider having his eyes checked at his doctors. There are conditions for people that are color blind or have a bad sense of color distinction. Definitely go get your eyes checked before replacing anymore phones. Im not even trying to be a jerk..It could be serious.

He just enjoys stirring the pot!:apple:

Just reached home, compared my new phone with the iPhone 5 ... yellow screen from left to right still exists. Beautiful. There's no point going back to the genius bar because I doubt the next one is better.

My iPhone 5 or 5s screen was evenly warm (yellowish). It did go away after a few weeks. If it really bothers you I'd say go back and get a different Genius or call AppleCare on the phone. Or wait a few weeks and see if it improves. Sorry to be wishy washy. :)

Ad hominem attack. Boring.

Jesus Christ! Seriously, it isn't the sheer number, it is what they're all started about. Clearly this guy is not the target audience for the iPhone 6/6+.

Apple's QC has definitely been slipping but that's what happens when something is mass produced. Fortunately if there happens to be something wrong with any of their products they are always helpful and willing to swap things out or fix it. Not a lot of companies now a days come close to Apple in customer service/satisfaction. They really try to make the customer happy. At least that's from my experience.

I think a lot of you people are huge fans of Apple's products and refuse to see that QT has slipped! It's not just the iPhone but it goes across the entire line. It's a shame really. I expect Apple products to be near perfect come out of the box. Unfortunately that is not the case. I personally know three people who had to exchanged their Macs and iPad two or three times before getting an acceptably good device!

This should not happen when buying Apple products that for the most part should be perfect coming out of the box. It should not be a lottery. Apple's products are considered creme de la creme and products like that should be damn perfect coming out of the box.

We all know that occasionally something slips through the QT but it's happening too often. This must change for Apple to be considered as the creme de la creme company. Whether you die hard core fans want to believe it or not, some of the shine has in fact rubbed off Apple in the past couple of years and Apple needs to bring that shine back.

I think people are just waxing nostalgic when they start talking so fondly of products past. There were some real duds. And the acrylic and polycarbonate crack boxes? Give me a break. Most of the newer products are pretty good in my eyes. I can see where they may have some supply challenges due to their increased popularity but more often than not people seem to gravitate to the anomalous characteristics instead of just accepting or not accepting the build quality of most. Apple fans are a curious bunch. They fail at voting with their hard earned dollars. If someone is truly unhappy why do they keep buying products they do not like or are of unacceptable quality?

The yellowing does exist, can the OP have had 2 units be bad out of the box...absolutely! Will doing another swap guarantee the next won't have an issue...sadly no!

But this isn't just apple, all phone manufacturers have these issues these days. It's all about the luck of the draw and just hoping you get a unit that is worth the money you paid.

As for the yellowing issue, lol, that is a problem that has existed in iPhones since as long as I can remember. In my experience I've seen 3 color tones, and any 3 could be present on anyone's phones at any time

Warm Yellow
White
Cool Blue

I've experienced all 3 on God knows how many iPhones over the years and I myself will not deal with a yellow tinted phone, I'll do 10 exchanges before dealing with that. However either the White or Cool Blue is fine with me and honesty can't believe Apple, and even some Android manufacturers won't just come up with a solution that narrows the chance of getting a yellowish screen down to almost zero, because honesty in this day and age, this shouldnt be a persitant problem.

As for me...

My original White 6 128GB out of the Box had a cool blue tint
It had to be exchanged due to insane Bluetooth headaches and the new one has a pretty spot on White hue to it

My White 64GB 6 plus has a more natural white tone, even a little whiter than my current 6

But if you check the Apple stores you'll notice all their display models have the cool blue hue to it. Oh well, just the way it is.

Good Luck OP

Many of the problems with LCD screen uniformity have to do with the move towards edge lit vs backlit. I'm not talking about the iPhone in particular, but rather any LCD screen whether it be in a phone, monitor, or 90 inch television.

I have a 60 inch Sony television that I had to exchange for another due to bad spotlighting on the bottom just right of center. If you look at how edge lighting works, it relies on a thin sheet of plastic or glass that varies in thickness from thin near the light source to thick furthest from light source to disburse the light as evenly as possible across the surface. It gets even harder to do when the screen is lit from just one side as in the iPhone.

The thinner these devices get the harder it is to light them evenly. The best screens for uniformity are the ones that are lit from behind with an array of LEDs. Unfortunately, they are becoming far less common to find in devices.

Apple's quality slipping ? 3rd iPhone 6+ today ....

I bet I'll get slack too but my first iPhone 6 was overheating and getting screen artifice issues. When I was there, a few people were saying that QC wasn't as good this go around. Possibly due to lower forecasting, not enough production time, setbacks, etc.

They said that they think the workers were pushed into making these devices faster and forced into cutting corners.

I don't know the truth of it but hopefully the next batches are better due to slightly decreased demand?

I wouldn't say their quality is slipping but there is something going on. I'm on my second 6 with the FaceTime camera that appears to be developing an eye lid.

Pretty much Apple told me that if the camera works then to "let it go". I will be exchanging it yet again.

I've learned on here that if there is a complaint of an apple product that can be visibly seen, to get a snapshot of it and show it along with your post just to avoid the "flaming" if that matters.

But nevertheless it's your phone/experience that you have to live with day to day so whatever is best for you.

I, personally, never have a solid colored screen on my phone as there is something abstract within it to give the screen a color contrast. So even if mine had a tone, I probably wouldn't notice it unless it was exceptionally apparent.

I'm sure my 6+ has faults if I were to put a ruler to it (i'm sure there's the slightest bend somewhere) or if I were to turn off all of the lights and have a completely dark room, I'm sure there is spillage of light seeping out somewhere. I'm sure it came with the slightest nic somewhere that I still, to this day, haven't noticed yet.

We're all different and expect difference in our products that we buy. Good luck to you and your phone, I hope it works out for you.

Honestly your just looking for problems. I don't sit there and look and see if the screen is off or something. You do realize every iPhone screen can be different due to LG, Sharp and Samsung making panels.

Bang on!

I used to be anal retentive about LCD panels on everything, from phones to TV's, and it got to the point where I was doing all sorts of tests to try to see if the panel had: clouding, backlight bleeding, dead pixels, you name it. It got to the point where on my TV's I was driving around to various retailers looking for specific panel serial numbers to try to get the perfect panel.

The fact is I wasn't enjoying my big screen tv or phone even though it wasn't affecting my daily viewing experience because of LCD panel issues that 99 out of 100 people would never have known existed anyways.

Nowadays, I don't expect any LCD panel to be perfect. I look for immediately obvious stuff that I know would impact my daily viewing, otherwise I try to just enjoy my tech now.

This excuse never gets old. Every year hahah

It's not an excuse, it was a legit issue on a previous device. They were being sold so fast, the epoxy never got a chance to cure. After a few days to a week, it would be fully cured and the discoloration was gone.

Of course the other option is to get a Samdung with its' overly saturated screen.

Then again, some posters on here sound like they get a check from Sammy.

How about stop wasting your time looking for issues. I've had Gen 1, 3G, 4, 5 and now 6 Plus (and iPad 1, 2, 3 and Air). I've never had any issues. I swear some people just over-analyze everything and look for faults. It's your fault you're crazy, not Apples.

"I've never had any problems so you shouldn't either"

You're a gigantic jerk for even posting something this stupid.

I think people keep buying Apple products because they're locked into the ecosystem. Let's say for the sake of argument that if you switched to WinPhone 8.1 or Android and were able to take all your apps with you, how big of a number do you think would in fact make the switch? I have a feeling it would be shockingly large.

I for one don't wax nostalgic. Yes there were some issues with previous models of iPhones and MacBooks but overall they really did "just work". Granted not 100% of the time, but most of the time.

Today though it's more like "let's hope it just works". I'm not going to make a long list of things that need fixing but my biggest gripe is iCloud. It is fundamentally broken. Files get lost, sync only works sometimes, photos is a mess in that sometimes the photo you want refuses to download. It gets to a quarter download and then stops. Not to mention I have a different number of photos on each of my devices.

The only other thing I'll mention is spontaneous rebooting or respringing and an unresponsive screen at the most inopportune times. It's extremely frustrating.

A company as rich as Apple who preaches quality and ease of use should be getting better, not worse. I give them credit for trying, I really do. Maybe, just maybe they're trying to do too much. Maybe it's time to stop giving us new features and take a year to "just make it work". Make it stable and make all the current features work as intended. That's all I ask.a

Apple is supposed to be top of the line . I've dealt with the Genius Bar before and I had a rude guy before who didn't believe me when I told him my speaker was bad. So I made a phone call and he gave the phone back to me and said nope can't hear the problem . I then said I'll try again because I know it exists. Sure enough he says nope nothing. 2 seconds later after he said that the speaker got all crackled and loud. He then says no problem we'll replace it.

If I were you, call AppleCare and explain the problem . Tell them you've had a bad experience in the Apple Store. It's one thing if they don't see it but to laugh at you it's a complete insult.

If you get a white or blue tone phone then I'd keep it. I've always had a white one so lucky to not deal with a yellow tone iPhone.
