Stop what ? Let me guess, you will be upvoted by other mindless apple users who think Apple is perfect. I won't avoid pointing out my experiences when we were promised quality and end up having bad products.

So I guess YOU should stop turning people down who aren't afraid to voice their opinions, if you had perfect phones then good for you, not everyone is fortunate to have the same experiences as you did.

No but sounds like you're obsessing.....Voice your opinion all you want but a "yellow" screen isn't a defect it's a personal dislike. Screens come in different "temperatures", deal with it.

Apple is making more iPhones than in the past. So even if QC remained exactly the same (% yield), you would physically have more defective phones. I'm not saying your experience was absolutely perfect, there's definite room for improvement (of course...).

I'm just saying that Apple is making more phones and even if QC stayed the same as before, there would still be more physical phones that are defective. If Apple made 100 phones with QC that detects 99% of defects, that's 1 defective unit. If Apple made 1000 with the same exact QC percentage... that's 10 defective units.

Don't buy an iPhone until a month or two after launch.

Not what I'd do, but I'm fully aware that the initial batches are more likely to have issues.

Nailed it. People can't seem to see the big picture; it's all about how their device has a defect and Apple doesn't test their phones and a majority of iPhones have issues, etc...

To ensure that every single iPhone is objectively flawless, we would probably be paying significantly more per phone than we do now. So few people even notice these minor imperfections that Apple figures they can sell the iPhones with a higher "defect" rate and a lower price.

And after all, if you're not happy with your device, you can exchange it until you find one that meets your needs. If that's too much hassle, there are plenty of Android phones out there.

Adding to that, you can easily just return it within 14 days for a FULL refund. No questions asked. And you can get it exchanged for free. I highly doubt AT&T would allow you to exchange an Android phone if half of the screen looked yellow. And good luck trying to contact the manufacturer from overseas (like Korea, Japan, etc.).

The OP got it exchanged a few times. He ended up with a perfect iPhone. So yes, it sucks that he needed to exchange it at all. I completely understand that. But you can't expect to get a perfect item every single time. That's just unrealistic. We're all human. We make mistakes. Even machines will throw up an error sometimes.

I stand by my statenent that people have had these problems since the original iPhone launched back in 2007, and that despite you having this happen to you recently, there are enough posts on MacRumors to prove that it's nothing new with Apple's quality.

Yep, it's just a lottery when they're producing millions of phones in China factories - nothing new. In past 4 years, I have returned some iPhones with yellow screens and some iPads with yellow, pink, and uneven screens. At some point, i might have asked myself if i am truly OCD, imagining issues, or just have truly bad luck. But my launch day 6 Plus arrived with a bright perfect screen - no complaints.:D Lag and iOS-related issues, yes. But that's due to measly 1GB RAM and glitchy iOS 8 software - an entirely different can of worms.

Not sure if you can read through a few sentences in English and understand simple context. I said the yellow tone was a blob on the left part of the screen, not the full screen. I explicitly described this.

Makes sense tbh .. At least I don't have any problems with the replacement now.

Every year since the original iPhone, we seem to get reports of multiple exchanges but that has more to do with the anal-retentiveness of the repeat exchange offenders than Apple's quality control. The only exception might be flurry of factory-damaged iPhone 5 arriving out of the box full of nicks and scrapes.

If a new iPhone cost $50 off contract, then I could possibly live with a loose button or a yellow screen. For the premium Apple charge, I expect my NEW device to be perfect in every way. So should you.

Dear OP
just ignore fan boys like the one you quoted.
I jis come here to get facts. Everything is very wishy washy with tonnes of propaganda. What I like on Android forums is majority don't cling onto a brand and defend to death non stop...I didn't expect it from any apple forums since three years ago. Too many non techy people joining up to well established sites like this....and cluttering it. It's a shame really.

Everytime I see brainwashed responses like this makes me feel that we need a XDA forum for iPhone ASAP.

I wish ... back when I had a windows phone XDA had an amazing environment. Everyone was technical and understanding : Minimum ******** and maximum comprehension and discussions. Here it's all blaming and pointing fingers at users, including memes and insults and other crap.

This. Nothing but this.

I do understand people exchanging phones for legitimate concerns. I exchanged some for poor battery performance relative to the other 6+ we have here in the house. I knew they were capable of 2-3 more hours on a charge, so I didn't want to keep them. Add to that the fact that each of them had a minor cosmetic flaw. That combo was too much for me to decide to keep them. That said, if all they had was the minor cosmetic flaws and great battery? I would've kept them because stuff like that isn't a concern to me. It's a phone. It gets used. If it's perfect the first day, after a month, it'll have a little flaw someplace. Mind you, this was 2 phones... not half a dozen. I'd have just given up by then. ;)

I've never exchanged phones unless they had defects in performance, not really. I just cannot see the point in obsessing over it.

People always compare their iPhones to luxury cars. Well, I'm pretty sure that if I bought myself a Tesla and it had a tiny scratch that required me to search hard to find it I wouldn't return it, either. Battery will only charge to 2/3 of the expected battery performance? Yeah. I'd want that fixed.

It's really that simple.
