I agree with the OP. Buying an iPhone nowadays is a complete luck of the draw..which is pathetic given how much money these *******s charge for their products.

I am on my 3rd iPhone 6...first one had lines running across the screen...second one had a crunchy home button that got stuck inside the phone when pressing it, and this 3rd one finally seems to be alright...although we'll wait to see if I hear a popping sound from the screen being sloppily put on, or notice a nice bend/curve from simply putting it into a case.

OP: you're not OCD for wanting a 800 dollar device to not have yellow blobs or dead pixels all over the screen. I agree with you completely about their quality control..not from what people are saying on these message boards or hype, but from my own experiences:

1 iPhone 5 replacement...apparently I was one of the lucky ones to have a defective battery

4 iPhone 5s replacements...lines on screen, loose glass that made popping noises when pressed, and a touch ID sensor that did not work...ever...period.

2 iPhone 6 replacements as previously mentioned.

It's pathetic. Unless something magical happens, I will be getting something different next time around. Given the hardware slop and buggy beta version software being released, Apple has just about lost my business. It's not worth the hype anymore to have an iPhone. I don't have any time or patience left.

Thank you, it's good to receive something else other than those harsh negative replies I keep getting. I knew that someone else who had a similar will understand my post. But be prepared for negativity towards your post since the iPhone is perfect and can never have problems, you're the one wrong here.

Couldn't care less :)

Stop what ? Let me guess, you will be upvoted by other mindless apple users who think Apple is perfect. I won't avoid pointing out my experiences when we were promised quality and end up having bad products.

So I guess YOU should stop turning people down who aren't afraid to voice their opinions, if you had perfect phones then good for you, not everyone is fortunate to have the same experiences as you did.

You seem to have a pretty good grasp on this forum, so im not sure what you expected when you made this thread lol

If I have a new Apple product with a fault (happens frequently these days) I always return in the 14 days and never explain why - and just buy new again. This way there are no arguments and replacements with dodgy other issues.

Yeah but I'm 4 weeks into my purchase .. Anyway I got it replaced today.

UPDATE

Went to the genius bar today and was lucky enough that they saw the issue while tinkering with the phone for about 30 mins .. Replaced it with no problems, I hope this one doesn't develop any problems !

There have always been people who were never happy with the phones that they have purchased. I seem to remember some people changing 7-8 times or more.

I have never had to exchange an iPhone or any phone in all these years. Every phone has been perfect. I've been using cell phones since 1993.

No, your iPhones were completely screwed up just like ALL the others. You were just too enamored with it to notice. Unless you replaced it a minimum of 5 times you are simply settling for a substandard product that might as well be made of duct tape and card stock. Good luck living your life of delusion.

BTW, sarcasm alert. I don't get it, but love to hear the dramatic renditions of the perpetual returners. It's funny. This thing cost $700 it must be perfect, as I perceive perfection of course. I wonder how many new cars they've returned?

Wow. This is brutal! After seeing this person's post history.. it certainly paints a picture about this forum member!

You find something to complain about. There will never be a such thing as the perfect phone for you.

Or perhaps some people are just unlucky with the devices they received.

I am at the point though where I think excessive worry about device perfection is causing more worry than it is worth.

There is lot of variance with LCD and finding a good one is like playing the lottery. Most won't know what to look but side by side it's pretty obvious. For example, was watching this iOS 8.1 vs 8.1.1 comparison and you'll see two 4S' with one that's more yellow and washed out than the other.

So, either you're lucky getting one with very few defects as far as backlight bleed, uniformity issues, yellowing, bad pixels, etc. or live with it or return it and wait for Apple to switch to OLED.

No honestly, I never experienced these much issues in one phone product. This time it was a bit more excessive.

Unfortunately true, perfection is subjective, but sometimes obvious problems cannot be ignored.

I think the amount of people receiving screen defects doesn't warrant a huge change in LCD panels.

Apples QC has gotten better over the years but still has room for improvement. Manufacturing millions of iPhones there's bound to be some issues
Regardless if it is an expensive car, a home appliance a pair of slacks or a computer there's always room for improved quality control But at least Apple resolves it problems

Man Apple LCD Panel is awful
Took me three iPhone 6 Plus for one without dead/stuck pixels.
Took me two iPhone 6 both two with dust under screen.
iPad Air 2 on to my third one now all with dust and dead pixels.

The price I pay should be perfect.

Reading your post history, why are you still buying Apple products?

Anyway I agree with you. The first iPhone I owned was flawless. Had it for 4 years and I never noticed any manufacturing defects.

Definitely noticed a drastic difference in my iPhone 6. After 30 minutes of using the phone, I started to avoid pressing the home button out of fear that I might spoil it. After a few more hours of toying with it, I realized that the button was loose and squeaky. Played with my sister's iP6 and her button felt solid compared to mine. Looked it up and seems like it's a common issue.

Few days later I happened to press on the upper left hand corner of the screen and it could be depressed a little. Looked it up again, and again I found that it was a common issue.

I owned a flawless iPhone 4,iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s all perfect out the box.

received my 64gig SG plus on nov 3. Returned/ exchanged white box replacement. The genius told me all white boxes "right now" are brand new. Anyways, my phone had 2 defects being light bleed from bottom and camera issue. It was swapped no problem.

Fast forward to today, I was diddling with a black wallpaper background(Apple stock world wallpaper) I noticed even worse light bleed but is time coming from left side. This was at 50% brightness. I give a sigh and crank brightness to full to see the extent and it's bad, real bad. I wish I didn't do that. Because I then noticed a "hot pixel" which is just fancy talk for a pretty much dead pixel especially when you get it right out the box.

Here's hoping 3rd times a charm!!

Just suck it up and deal with it. You can't get away with nit picking on little stuff on a screen with HTC or Samsung . They Probably tell u where to stick it
