I don't have the data to comment on QC control, but of course we'll see more manufacturing bug reports online with each iPhone release because each release sells more than the last. If a consistent 0.01% of iPhones have issues for every release, then more people will bitch about it online with each release.

Oh and hearing what people say in retail stores means less than nothing. I was in a Verizon store a few days ago and some jackanapes helpfully proclaimed that old iPhones didn't have enough space for the latest software update so the only thing to do was buy a new iPhone. Intelligence rarely correlates with loudness in shopping venues - just sayin'.

I think people keep buying Apple products because they're locked into the ecosystem. Let's say for the sake of argument that if you switched to WinPhone 8.1 or Android and were able to take all your apps with you, how big of a number do you think would in fact make the switch? I have a feeling it would be shockingly large.

I for one don't wax nostalgic. Yes there were some issues with previous models of iPhones and MacBooks but overall they really did "just work". Granted not 100% of the time, but most of the time.

Today though it's more like "let's hope it just works". I'm not going to make a long list of things that need fixing but my biggest gripe is iCloud. It is fundamentally broken. Files get lost, sync only works sometimes, photos is a mess in that sometimes the photo you want refuses to download. It gets to a quarter download and then stops. Not to mention I have a different number of photos on each of my devices.

The only other thing I'll mention is spontaneous rebooting or respringing and an unresponsive screen at the most inopportune times. It's extremely frustrating.

A company as rich as Apple who preaches quality and ease of use should be getting better, not worse. I give them credit for trying, I really do. Maybe, just maybe they're trying to do too much. Maybe it's time to stop giving us new features and take a year to "just make it work". Make it stable and make all the current features work as intended. That's all I ask.a

So you primarily have software complaints. I really can't disagree with that but I'd suggest that folks sensitive to buggy software stop updating obsessively every time Apple drops a new version of iOS or OS X.

Apple has to compete and I think that often means releasing software they feel is better but still far from perfect. I believe they know what they are doing and aim to satisfy s majority of users.

He could be trying to outdo TH55, or maybe he *is* TH55! One new thread per day has to be some kind of record. I wonder if he can sustain that kind of effort.

You stole my thunder! TH55 did this on another forum, though he'll claim he didn't. However, I'm a moderator there and can confirm he's the same guy.

UPDATE

To all you nay-sayers trying to act like nothing is wrong with iPhones, my 3rd iPhone 6+ just got ghost tappings/possession as well .... So was it better for me to keep my half yellow tone i6+ without ghost tappings then ? Honestly disappointed. If I go back wanting an exchange, they'll think I'm exploiting their returns system and ignore that fact that I am genuinely having a really bad customer experience with iPhones; I'm not playing around as it costs money and time to get to genius bars and doing this more than 3 times.

There have always been people who were never happy with the phones that they have purchased. I seem to remember some people changing 7-8 times or more.

I have never had to exchange an iPhone or any phone in all these years. Every phone has been perfect. I've been using cell phones since 1993.

There is a major difference between people changing phones because of anal addiction to find the perfect one, and people who are having legitimate problems with theirs. So you stating that you haven't had any issues since 1993 is quite ridiculous and out of context, just like some others here stating the same. If you never had an issue then good freaking for you, no need to boast here and rub it in our faces, who are having more than one issue repeatedly.

The Air 1 had terrible issues with this(longest ever thread on Apple community) but I haven't seen it on any of the 6 or 6+'s I've seen so far, people here will tell you it's your own fault because this place is like the tech version of Scientology, they will just scream at you until you give up and leave.

That's if they really think they can do that. I have the rights to voice my experiences and share them here whether they want to accept it or not. I am sure others might have the same experience and can find this thread and relate to it.

Just to entertain us, how about posting a video of the ghost at work.

Maybe an Exorcism will help  Seriously, I think the ghost thing is probably software issues, but you might have to bite the bullet and go in a third time if you are concerned about the yellow screen.

I'll try getting footage because I'd be skeptical if I were in your place too, but I have no reason to make it up trust me.

I really hope it's software issues, but I kind of doubt that because I tried all solutions with the genius bar and they said an exchange is the only way to go. I really don't care about yellow tint atm because the screen touch issue is a bigger problem .. I wish I didn't exchange my 2nd replacement ... Lesson learned hard.

I had mine swapped out for some yellowing at the top left. The new one seems fine.

Nothing is perfect, especially LCD displays. Still, I think Apple could stand to bump up the examination process, but when you are pumping out millions and millions of devices in only a few month's time things happen. At least Apple has good customer service (usually.)

Mine had excessive light bleed along the bottom edge and yellowing. The Apple employee said "it looks fine to me, but we'll swap it out anyway." Meh, is what it is.

Side note: when I got home I decided to actually use my iCloud backup (I've never used one, I just set up as new) and the process was surprisingly seamless.

First iPhone 6+ was perfect, only until it started developing ghost tappings/possession and screen issues. Got it replaced recently with no hassle thanks to Apple's customer service.

However the 2nd phone had yellow tone, but not the way you think it is. If the whole screen was warm, it's okay I'll deal with it, but the yellow tone can only be noticed on the left side of the screen, and once seen you cannot unsee it. It was a nuisance because I keep concentrating on it every time I see white backgrounds. So I unfortunately had to go back to the Genius bar, but this time the experience was a bit hectic. First of all the genius bar employee did not take me seriously (laughed), had an attitude along with many other negative points anyway and another customer sitting beside me also laughed later on when I'm trying to explain how the left side is yellow and not. Controlling my temper, I avoided a heated argument because I really wanted my phone replaced. So he said he will ask the manager and wanted my phone, I said no I would like to speak to the manager directly. He went to the manager and came back claiming that my phone will be replaced, and if it worse than my current phone they won't replace it anymore. Once I got the replacement, he said that he is eager to see how it turns out, but of course I can't give him this wish and I just left without comparing phones (hoping it won't have defects).

What a bad experience honestly, hardware and customer experiences were much better before; I used to get an iPhone and KNOW that it won't have issues, albeit not as much as now. It's quite frustrating and ruins the overall Apple experience I'm used to.

I know this will get more heat and negativity because it's an Apple forum, but that won't phase me from posting my experience with Apple.

Edit :

Just reached home, compared my new phone with the iPhone 5 ... yellow screen from left to right still exists. Beautiful. There's no point going back to the genius bar because I doubt the next one is better.

Edit 2 :

Ghost tappings/possession was noticed today .. Opened a new page and some text got selected randomly and page swiped up. Wtf is this honestly.

Call me crazy, but seriously?

Hmmm. Still no video? I'm shocked.

OP ..why don't you just return the phone and buy another phone from another company since Apple's QC is in the gutter?

Your failing to produce pics/video proof combined with your extensive post history leads me to believe that you are nothing but a troll

..mods should come drop the ban hammer

Are you sure it's not a bad charger/cord? Or a 3rd party charger? Does it still do it when not plugged in?

There is always so much angst here related to devices. I think some of it is understandable because iPhones are expensive as far as mobile phones go, but technology should be fun, not painful.

This is why I've advocated that people keep their old phone around until the new one proves satisfactory, because it sucks having a device that doesn't work as one expects.

It's pretty odd that two of your devices would have this "ghost" problem. Did you restore and update to 8.1 as new? Is it possible you have some corrupt file from your back up that might be causing this?

1- I didn't say its in the gutter, pretty simple English should make sense from the first read through

2- it's not easy to record something that happens very rarely, I have a life rather than waiting to record an anomaly on the phone

3- don't really care what you think of my post history

4- just be like the other fanboys at heart, call me a troll and a liar just because I'm experiencing some bad iPhones, your holy grail.

5- if you really think I did this whole post, spent the time and effort just troll for God knows what reason you have in mind, then I feel really sorry for you for being so gullible and blind sighted that you think everything is a conspiracy against this forum. Believe whatever you want, but what I'm sharing here is genuine whether you like it or not. This goes for the other guys like you here. I'm not phased with your jokes and insults, I'll remain honest and transparent with my posts and hopefully someone might find it useful. I'm not sure what you think I gain by doing this, unless you think that virtual fame is exciting which is another whole issue you need to get checked for.

Yeah I honestly think I'm very unlucky. I tried what you suggested but with no avail. However, I started phone as new but this time downloaded each app manually rather than sync purchases. No issues for the past few hours so fingers crossed.

I would just like to know where you can get multiple 6+ replacements?? I cannot find even one within a few hundred miles, so where are you? What color and size?

apple shortage is partially caused by factories having to make replacement iphones that are in plain box delivered to aple stores.
