Well that's about time. The prices on Craigslist are usually not discounted enough to warrant the risk. Will keep this in mind...especially if my phone gets destroyed or lost.
If your phone is damaged beyond repair, look at "out of warranty repair". The "repair" consists of taking your phone, getting a refurbished phone out of a box, and handing it to you. Usually costs about half the price of an identical new phone with the smallest amount of memory.

well if the iphones were selling so hot they wouldn't be offering these for sale.

Just sayin.

Just saying, but not thinking. What do you think happens when someone buys a phone and returns it within 14 days? Apple can't sell it as new, that would be illegal. So they sell it as refurbished. It's not a "sale", it's selling a phone that can't be sold as new.

These are the lease phones that are being returned when people got their iPhone 7. Same kind of phone they give you when you have a problem, even when it's still under warranty.
Refurbished phones are "as new". I seriously doubt that you can sell a phone that has been used for a year as "as new". Let's say the average iPhone works for five years. One that has been used for a year already won't work for five years, but only four years. So it's not "as new".

Hope you are training up millions of unemployed as I'm sure all the new Apple products are going to be DESIGNED AND MADE in the USA from now on. Refurbs too. What were the work and pay conditions like in China? Least Tim won't have so far to travel when he meets the coalface workers. Don't forget to install the anti-suicide nets around the tall dormitory buildings...

Last I checked I was looking at over £200 for my setup.....now double that for the office....[doublepost=1478682906][/doublepost]

Not sure what exactly it is you need. I only need a USB to USB-C type and that costs £9. With that I can work around anything I have. Importing photos and videos from my camera mostly. But yeah, I know some people have a bunch of stuff with all sorts of connector forms. I am glad Apple did not create one port for each one of them in the MackBook Pro.It would have looked like honeycomb!

Well that's great, but what they really need is a refurb section for their #1 product, Dongles.

naw their margin is big enough on those they can afford to just throw them in the trash if they break and give you a new one....like 10 times over

And your point is...? If there is a sale opportunity, Apple can and should take it, if it's profitable. Just because you bought a phone doesn't mean you're entitled to a certain resale price to sell at.
My point is people who re sell their phone probably won't be able to get as much as they used too. why would you bring up entitlement?

Quick comparison with Swappa....

Mint condition 6s 16GB (A1688) is $400-$420 and good condition is $370-$390 vs $449 + tax (if applicable) from Apple. That extra $50-$80 you're paying with Apple gets you a 1 year warranty.

Mint condition 6s Plus 16Gb (A1687) is $470 and good condition is ~ $400 vs $529 + tax (if applicable) from Apple. That extra $60-$130 you're paying with Apple gets you a 1 year warranty.

Might be worth getting 6s from Apple since it's only $50-$80 more for warranty, but not so much for 6s Plus IMO.
Not just warranty, but a new battery, flawless screen/outer shell, no concerns about 3rd-party repairs having been done, and no chance of having your phone blacklisted by carrier in the future. Altogether that's easily worth $130 to me. Also Swappa phones rarely include the USB and charger, so that's $15 right there (if you get the cheapest genuine charger you can get)

Brand new battery + warranty makes Apple's offer pretty compelling, to me anyway.

I think this is a very good move for Apple on a variety of fronts.

Having phones in stock doesn't mean that all who provided phones to Apple were unhappy with their phone.

Logical fallacies are illogical for a reason.

I was happy to see this - and I just took advantage. I'd been promising to upgrade my daughter's 4-year-old iPhone 5, but T-Mobile was slow to update their 6S/Plus stock to the new 32GB base configuration. As it turns out, though, I was able to get a 64GB refurb 6S Plus for less than the 32GB version costs.

Is refurbished worth it you guys? Funny this happened today because Im buying my iphone 6s plus tomorrow and i was going to buy a 32 GB for 686 with my employee discount after taxes, but the refubrished one 64GB is about 640 after taxes. I love to save some money but is it worth it to buy the refurb one? and save my 40 dollars, since i need to buy a 40 dollar handbag so the deal im getting is convenient.

And someone answer is it worth it? Thanks!

Apple refurbished always come in new boxes with new accessories.
The product gets completely scrubbed and the serial number is changed.
The products come with the same warranty as new and Applecare can be added.

When you go in the store with an issue, it's treated as a new product.
I have bought multiple products from the refurb store.
Never had an issue with service if I needed it.
That sounds great! So if you are gifted with a new phone, how would u realize if its new or refurb???

It's worth it to me just pulled the trigger on one for my wife

Definitely getting an iPhone 7+ before next year's 8; when Trump forces Apple to make them in the US and the prices triple.

Refurbished or not. Will still save some coin!

Joking aside, I find it interesting how everyone in these forums thinks Apple 'makes' iPhones. As if they manufacture the actual product. Quite amusing.

I buy all my Apple stuff from the refurb site whenever I can, so I think this is good.

Every time I've looked at iPhones so far, though, they only have 6S in 16GB (which shouldn't even exist) and 6S Plus in 64GB -- has anybody seen any other configurations up there?

finally only hipsters and stupid early adopters will be target of apple new products with actual prices

real consumer will regularly buy "refurbished" products with more reasonable prices from Apple junk shop

I received an iPhone 6s 16gb refurb for my daughter. It looks brand new. White box top is different and says Pre-owned but it's most likely leftover stock when Apple upgraded to 32gb on the base model.

2 methods:

1. The serial number... the Beginning letter would be the designation.
If it starts with 'M', then it's a new retail version.

2. The white exterior box will be marked 'refurbished'
[doublepost=1482120510][/doublepost]I've ordered refurbished iPods and iTouches before and they've lasted for years. Many of them are now just sitting in a drawer and need a new battery but otherwise still works.

Just bought a refurbished 64Gb Gold iPhone 6s Plus for ~$589 which is relatively good, though still darn Pricey, considering that the new 128Gb was $120 MORE which is also Utterly Ridiculous considering how much the price of a flash drive costs (relatively Inexpensive for those that do Not know)! At least it has a new case and battery with a 1 year warranty. May consider buying the AppleCare extended warranty within 60 days of purchase.
It's time to move on from the iPhone 5s as I really needed a big screen for my eyes ;)
Sad thing is that I replaced the battery this past summer for $29 and it's got a new charge to last another 2 years. At least it'll serve well as an iTouch.

Apple really knows how to scr@w the consumers and reap in the profits. Any wonder why people bash its pricing policy.

This will be the Last iPhone purchase since the 3.5mm earphone port has been removed in the iPhone 7 and may not return in future iPhone updates.

Anyone know how to copy a Nano Sim card to create a duplicate? I'm believe that there are Nano Card readers that can duplicate the card's contents onto another card. Where would someone find one? Could use that duplicate card in the older iPhone.
