At the rate Apple is going with bigger "pads", this will likely be true.Sneak peek…

Would be weird for the largest iPad to lack some of the Pro features...
For the $200 added price, the iPad Pro gets…
They’re really not that similar. It’s like saying Apple is going to phase out the iPhone 13 Pro because it’s ’so similar’ to the iPhone 13 - not really defendable at all.
- 11” display with thinner bezels
- Four speaker sound system
- Ultra Wide rear camera, LiDAR sensor and flash
- Thunderbolt connectivity
- 64GB extra base storage (and the Pro line has the ability to go up to 2TB / 16GB RAM)
- 600 nits brightness
- ProMotion 120Hz
- Front Camera with TrueDepth and FaceID
Really?What a muddy product line

I like your points. I'm probably ready to have a larger screen, and have probably said in the past I'd go for a 14" iPad...but I want it to be a Pro. If it isn't I'll probably just add a MacBook and keep my "old" M1 iPad Pro. I do wish MacBook had internal cellular though!I genuinely think Apple will drop the Pro line soon with the line up shifting to a more capable 'cheap' iPad and an iPad priced somewhere between the current Air and Pro available in multiple sizes from mini to 14". Or maybe the Air is dropped with just the 'cheap' iPad and a slightly more affordable Pro continuing.
There's just too much duplication in the line up, the 11" Air and Pro in particular.
The reality is Apple is selling less iPads while at the same time making more versions of them than ever. Some streamlining and focus is needed.
Doubtful. I'd like to see complete numbers but by what I have seen the 11" Pro outsells the 12.9" Pro considerably. One of the reasons the 12.9" is getting more features is because it is lower volume and also to try and increase sales. The 11" is selling well even without miniLED. If they added a larger pro it would be more likely the 12.9" would be the one dropped. They are slowly phasing it out by not giving it features like miniLED. It's likely that the 11" Pro is no longer in active development, or product roadmap.
I’m not sure it’s particularly confusingI’m confused because the 1st and 2nd gen ipad pro’s were closer to 14” in length, lolol, what could possibly fill the gap now?
Sophisticated leaker needs equally sophisticated methods to flush out. I feel this is appropriate.Fish out leakers in the supply chain by putting in fake orders that they don’t intend to follow through on? Sounds… complicated.
I think you are on to something. As a book, pen and paper replacement, at 14 inch ("cheap") iPad would be excellent for students and others.Fun fact: a 14.1" 4:3 display is roughly the same size as the common A4 paper size format.
Why should a student who just wants a large tablet for textbooks and taking notes splurge for a Pro iPad with LiDAR, ProMotion, mini-LED, FaceID, etc.?
Bring on the 14.1" iPad Air.
That’s a great point. For some reason I had thought the 12.9” screen was nearly identical to A4, but maybe it’s actually the total device size because I checked DisplayWars and sure enough you’re right - 14.1” screen would be almost identical to an 8.5” x 11” A4.Fun fact: a 14.1" 4:3 display is roughly the same size as the common A4 paper size format.

A device that size with a 4:3 aspect ratio would look weird. 3:2 aspect ratio is the better way to go.That’s a great point. Interesting to look at the visual representation of 12.9” vs 14.1”, too.

I most certainly wouldn’t pay $900 for a base iPad that is 14”. Maybe at $600. Because if it shares the same specs as the 10.2” iPad, then $900 might be pushing it. If it’s based on the iPad Air, it would make more sense, but that’s what the Pro is for.The best-selling iPad BY FAR is the $300 model. If Apple introduced a 14" iPad at $900, they'd sell a ton.
I’d expect that size to be too heavy for “Air” (Macbook Air notwithstanding).14.1” Air?
The “pros” are expected to buy the Studio Display for Stage Manager, so no iPad Pro 15".The iPad Air is in many ways a less-expensive iPad Pro so I could see Apple filling out both product categories a bit more.
