I for one am budgeting for three iPads in September. Not sure what day they will be available, but I assume near the end of the month. At the same time I expect to get an Air or a (new) rMBP depending on delivery date, cost, and performance differential. That's a lot of Apple stuff for one buyer and several friends I know are planning similar so it seems Fall 2013 will be good for Apple.

No no and no.

They're just trying to increase expectations so no matter what people will be disappointed after sept ten. And the Share price will go down.

Nice I plan to buy the golden iPhone and a new ipad mini and regular one. Nothing better than being able to get it all at once :D ....that is if the mini goes retina, if not I´ll skip it.

i'm kinda doubting, wasnt there a news where the ios 7 ipad version would ship later ?

Not news but a rumor. Based on claims that it's not even close to ready.

But honestly I've used both betas and they are about equal footing as far as I can tell. If they delay the public release of the iPad software it will be more likely to avoid sever overload issues than a problem with the software.

So far rumors on the new phones are pretty light on discussion points. Once you spend five minutes on the finger print scanner what else is there to talk about?

Why not at least do a processor bump on the iPad mini even if you can't get retina in it yet?

What about the 4S event?

They will spend much more than 5 minutes on the fingerprint reader. It's quite new technology that requires explanation as to security and implementation.

Like every other event, they'll initially discuss sales figures after first discussing their Apple Stores around the world. When they get to the phones, they'll discuss both the 5S and 5C.

And what about iOS 7? This event will be where it's truly showcased to the press and public. They'll reshow the features, talking about things like iTunes Radio, and possibly mention something new. Additionally, they are likely to introduce some new iPods. There may even be a MacBook Pro refresh and, with it, Mavericks.

They have plenty to talk about, even without the Mac stuff.

Honestly, I think it would make sense to announce the new iPads with the iPhone. The iPhone 5s rumored upgrades are very mundane for the most part, the iPhone 5c is irrelevant to anyone who currently has an iPhone 5. Announcing new iPads with the iPhone would help add some excitement. I am most excited for the iPad 5.

What happened with the iPhone and new Android phones is now starting to happen with the iPad - slowly chipping away at it's dominance.

Apple REALLY need some new iPads.

Yeah man, new Nexus 7 really really set the bar high.

I'm not sure it's a very smart move to be releasing all their products(iphone, iPad and macbook pro) within the same quarter, even if it's just before the holiday season... People like to spread their costs throughout the year. If you're well off, great, you can afford your entire apple fix in october, but for the aspirational lot, it's a better proposition to have a device released every quarter or two...

If you're an Apple fan on an upgrade year, this october is going to be very expensive...

The obvious case for launching the iPads alongside the iPhones is supply during the holiday quarter. If they are ready to ship in September rather than a late October, early November date there are greater chances of not being supply constrained heading into the holidays.

The other case for a September launch is simply how everything Apple will release this year will be organized. If it's simply iPhone and iOS 7 in September, it means the Mac Pro, Macbook Pro, iMac, Mac Mini, Mavericks, iWork, and iPads would go in October.

Or isn't. Apple does as they want. If they want to talk about both, they will.

Even perhaps the Apple TV. It is possible

The only thing in the article that is 99% sure to be BS is the implication Apple is doing anything because of Samsung. Tim Cook has shown that he agrees that chasing what the other players are or might be doing is not his style.

Yeah! He has shown that limping behind the other players does fit to his style much more.

You should try out a separate e-ink reader device in this case.
No you shouldn't. Like separate iPods, separate readers are obsolete technology. You wouldn't buy a separate digital photo frame anymore. It's over. Multi-purpose is here to stay and rule.
