iPad and ARM Mac together would make sense as they'll likely be using a similar processor. I am sure we didn't get a CPU bump earlier in the year so Apple didn't show its hand to soon on what it was capable off.

They did something similar with the iPhone X. Plus iPhone sales usually slump around this time and Apple only reports numbers by quarter (AFAIK) so as long as the pre-orders are high enough they're not really canalizing anything. Lots of unknowns, so I'm not confident, but it does not make sense to have two big events a month (or less) apart. So I think we'll see an iPhone reveal.

No, it was not similar with iPhone X.

iPhone X introduced a brand new $999 ultra premium category. Prior to 2017, iPhones were typically $649. A $999 iPhone does not Osborne a $649 iPhone.

Sure, and why wouldn't they? Those videos are produced in advance anyway - why not have multiple shorter presentations? That leaves more room for the new products. As long as they don't do it every month...

Alright Apple, please just give me a real iPad Pro upgrade. A14X or A15X 10-core CPU, Mini-LED, 8GB RAM... and I'm in. 😉😂
The 2018 Pro is still as fast as the 2020 Pro and most PCs and other laptops or tablets, (it was already years ahead of its time and still is)... so it is hard to imagine another processor to replace the A12X, how much better can the A14X make an iPad Pro?

Even tech/processors from 3-4 years ago are still is ahead of competitors now. 🤔✌️

Strange times when the new iPad and Watch are announced before the iPhone 12, but didn't I read something this morning that production on the 12 is just ramping up now? Way behind this year, as we are all knew would happen. Apple seems to be focusing on what they have ready to go, or closer to ready to go.

As I said earlier, the AW/iPad are the two products my interest in has been on the wane, especially with my new work from home 4 out of 5 days/week schedule. The watch has less use for me, and the iPad I use mostly at night now.

Might upgrade the watch closer to the holidays so I can gift my S4 to my son's girlfriend to replace her aging S2, but nothing I am running out to get on day 1. An air that's a watered-down IPP 11" has no interest to me. Much prefer an iPad with a home button and headphone jack, for my use case. My Air 3 with an A12 is a great device for that purpose.

How will they give us new watches without a new iOS, and how will they give us a new iOS without showing it off on the new phones? Should be interesting!
I expect iOS14 is imminent for existing phones and will include any features required for the new Apple Watch

Just because the iPhones are delayed doesn’t mean they won’t be announced. They can announce them and then not release them for a year if they wanted.

Thankfully, that would never happen in the real world because competent people who have studied finance help run Apple.

TIME FLIES

Apple Watch ‘Time’
iPad Air ‘Flies’ through the Air

play on words past ten years of iPad has flown by... TIME FLIES...

I 100% think this is going to be an iPad focused event, with a separate event for the iPhone in October... The blue colour just represents the sky (air).

I know it is the 40th anniversary of the Apple III. So we get a new retro Apple III this year :)

You’re mixing up today’s Apple with a company that has a soul, like Steve Jobs’s Apple or Nintendo or Disney.

Today’s Apple has no identity. It’s like EA. Don’t have any good ideas for a new iPhone? Whatever - just slap some random crap in it, change the name, and ship it every year. Whatever it takes to get the idiots to buy it again and keep profits growing.

You burn the franchise eventually and have to stop for a few years until you “reboot” it. Unlike EA, I don’t think Apple has other franchises though. There’s the iPhone, and nothing else in Apple’s portfolio comes close to its size.

Remember Apple’s three legged stool analogy from forever ago? I think it was the Mac, the iPhone, and the Apple TV? Yeah - Apple’s just a one pole balancing act now. It’s absolutely insane that Apple is the world’s most valuable company when they’re in such a vulnerable position.

I know it’s a long shot, but I’d love for Apple to announce some type of fitness band in addition to the new watch. I want the fitness features of the Apple Watch, but I really do enjoy my regular watches.

No interest in September release now! I will wait patiently for October for an iPhone 12 5.4” Pro model in midnight blue!

Apple this morning announced an event that's set to be held on September 15, and since Apple holds an iPhone-focused event every fall one might assume that the upcoming event will see the unveiling of the iPhone 12 lineup, but Bloomberg's Mark Gurman suggests that's not the case.

According to Gurman, Apple will not announce the iPhone until October, which means the September event could instead feature new iPads and Apple Watch models. BuzzFeed's John Paczkowski has confirmed in a tweet that says "Don't hold your breath for the new iPhone."

A September event that does not include the new iPhone models would be unusual, but this year's iPhone lineup is delayed, as Apple confirmed in July. Apple is expecting the iPhone 12 models to launch a couple of weeks later than normal, with the devices set to debut in October rather than September.

The iPhone 12 launch is also expected to be staggered with the more affordable models coming out ahead of the Pro models, and that further delay could be another reason why Apple might want to hold an iPhone announcement until October.

Apple is working on the Apple Watch Series 6, which is expected to feature blood oxygen monitoring as a major new addition. There have also been multiple rumors of a 10.8 to 11-inch iPad model with an edge-to-edge display and Touch ID either built into the Power button or the display, and that device is expected to be an iPad Air.

If there's no iPhone, we could also see other rumored products like the first Arm-based Mac (which is rumored to be a 13-inch MacBook Pro), over-ear "AirPods Studio" headphones, AirTags, and a smaller HomePod, all of which have been rumored for a fall launch.

The September 15 event could also see the release of iOS 14, watchOS 7, tvOS 7, and macOS Big Sur, which have been in beta testing since June.

Since they’d hinted AR on the event logo and a blue color (new iPhone color), I bet they’ll announce the iPhones in this event (that have AR LiDar) with shipping being next month. (Most probably in my opinion)

Hah! I just placed the order for 12.9" IPP last night.

My patience is now starting to wane on me, I sooo want to order like right now, but my gut is telling me not too until next weeks event, I really think this will be a 10 year iPad event, with the Apple Watch thrown in for good measure.

I have it on very good authority that a new 12.9 inch iPad Pro will be announced. How do I know, my new one just arrived today and I always get a new one moments before they announce.

Even I had got my MacBook Pro 15'' last year and within 2-3 days new 16'' MBP was announced. This time I am holding back for iPad Pro from the last month based on all the leaks 😂
