I bought my brand new, sealed Macbook Pro 13 from an Ebay seller in the UK. It was obviously post June 8th 2009, but the question is how do I get my copy of the OS? it only seems to be for those who bought through the official channels.

I would call 0800 845 123 (I believe that's the Swiss 1-800 Apple Store) and explain your situation. I mean you are obviously eligible for the Up-To-Date Program. They should be able to verify your eligibility with your serial #

Or just register the Macbook on the up-to-date program with the 8th june date.

I put my MacMini details in and got the up to date offer, even though my was bought in May (item is in my basket, I have not bought it yet - I'm getting the family pack as I have 3 macs to do)

I'm in the UK so went onto the Apple Store site and asked them when I will be able to pre-order.

I was told the 1st week of September.

Should have posted a screenshot - but I guess you could ask the same thing.

I also asked for pricing information but was told this isn't available yet.

It has changed to September, both on the product page and also when I check my order status.

I'm in the UK and I had to mail in the forms when I ordered for up-to-date as online wasn't working. If I check the status via up-to-date it says that they received and approved my application and I will be charged when they ship. If I log into my account on the Apple Store, there is no note of an order at all - is this correct? Should I have something in my store account? No activity on my CC yet.

I'm in the exact same position as you.

Looks like it's degraded back to September :p

Was fun while it lasted :D

Why did they change it to 28th aug though? It's a bit specific... I think there is still a chance it'll be the 28th it's just the UK store jumped the gun before their US bosses officially give them the go-ahead. I think it'll be official later today. At least that's what I'm hoping ;)

I think so, too... Apple will reveal the date today.

Apple is so secretive that even most employees don't know about some stuff. So that representative was probably told initially that it would be available to pre-order on Sept. 1. It could change.

Just had a rummage on like 20 different localisations and even the Server variation on the english stores - all are now posting September

Though i agree with the earlier statement - that August 28th is very specific - yet it is strage it migrated to other sites ... but was then withdrawn

Unless Apple didn't realise till after that people had cottened on ;)

Not only is the 28th specific, it corroborates previous information, which is odd. I assume those responsible for the UK Apple Store don't set their dates based on information they found on Macrumors. It could be a coincidence of course, but it seems unlikely.

My CC was charged on the up-to-date program yesterday, and I ordered on wednesday.

Apple UK must have accidentally posted it up, and if there is a press release later today, then all the stores may change the date. I think that it's gonna be changed, and it just went under the rug accidentally, and they thought they were supoosed to post it up last night. Clearly not :p

Maybe Up-To-Date people are gonna get it before the mainstream people... MUAHAH xD

Do you ever wonder if - Old Steve is sat there going ... Ya know what - It's been over a year since we announced this - It looks stable enough - Hell the people who want stable releases still got their nose up Tiger's *** - maybe we'll let the public have this and see what happens ... maybe i'll even release a tablet :)

Let's see - just checking ... Mac:Rumors ey? - let's see ... !!! What?! - they already know we we're gonna suprise them with early releases and new products?! - Screw them then - another Monitor update it is  they can wait until they learn to be patient

Cos i know that's what i'd do :D

Hmm ... How long for 10.6.1, I wonder. After 10.5, there's no way I'm installing a point-oh update on any of my machines again!

Cheers

Jim

Were there that many issues with 10.5.0? I got my uMB at 10.5.6 so I wouldnt know. I really dont think I'd be able to hold off SL for even 3 weeks, I just really want it! :p
