The apple/macosx page seems to be down as well.

Updating!

Still working for me... (on the US site) :(

Australian store hasn't been updated yet, still says September.

I ordered directly from the up-to-date page. After you enter your serial, it takes you to the Apple store. I entered my CC and the receipt shows the ships by August 28th.:)

Now... What about the regular upgrade...

Maybe this Aug. 28th is an incentive for recent mac buyers... the rest of us will have to wait till september...

Not at all...

(Insert random iphone rant...) "see att this is how you do it... tell your customers 'coming in september' and deliver BY september..."

lol sorry just still miffed...

cool ;) Although i have ordered a copy via the up-to-date program and my estimated shipping date still says September...

My CC has been charged as well (I'm from Sweden), but the order status pages still says estimated shipping in September.

My original product was also replaced with a new one. Interesting stuff!

My CC was charged last night,

I just intalled the gold master. The open gl takes a big hit but puts my mac 2.4 at the same (geek bench) as a 2.8. Still, the OpenGL is not ready. My computervis also listed as one that is 100% comaptible 64.

Just wanted some to know. Should be easy to fix?

Can you tell if your CC has been charged via the order page? For example, my order page says "Not Yet Shipped" (duh) but does that status come before or after CC is charged, or does CC charging not even show up on that status bar?

the OpenGL is not ready.

Isn't it OpenCL??? I think I will reserve my education of problems of what is ready and what isn't to those who know what a particular technology is NAMED!!!

OpenCL is "a new technology that unleashes the power of graphics processors to accelerate application performance." according to Apple.com.

OpenGL is different and has been part of the OS for a long time. OpenGL is like DirectX and is used to help display 3D graphics. In other words, OpenGL is needed for things like games.

Has apple mail improved in Snow Leopard?

Have they made any improvements to apple mail?

I saw it on my status page for my CC (at my bank). My order page at Apple says the same thing - "Not Yet Shipped". I don't think that you'll ever see if they've charged your CC on the Apple status page.

That's kind of correct, OpenGL is the open standard equivalent to Microsoft's proprietary Direct3D. DirectX is the whole package including sound, input (mouse/kb/joystick/gamepad) management and so on.

That's the main reason for DirectX growing so strong, since the developer gets the whole package it becomes more easy and faster to develop. It also makes it possible to quickly port things from/to Windows to/from the Xbox.

What's needed is a really good open standard cross-platform API for developing games. OpenGL is only a part of something like that. When someone puts a lot of money and effort into something like that we'll maybe begin to see some changes in the Mac and Linux gaming departments. Not only the icky Wine stuff.

A lot of people already have it.

Um no. A lot of people illegally downloaded a torrent of a file said to be the Gold Master but never confirmed to be, and others have the developers seeds. Nobody has a boxed official copy of Snow Leopard.
