Losing numbers now are we?
I wonder if they ever will. "The iPhone 25" just doesn't sound catchy.
Losing numbers now are we?
The chance that this phone has a "5" in it's name is as close to happening as the next iPad mini being called the Newton.
I feel like we won't know the name until it's revealed, but I've been saying this as well. Mini is both adorable and marketable. "Oh you got the new Mini?" sounds better than "Oh, you got the new j8y98aupuU*(Y(DYFShishfliahsfhasd8fu8DYFYSDFISDHFLSHDFIHhuidlif?"Or how bout they call it the iPhone 6s Mini.
Yeah, that never made sense.Yeah, the 5 never made any sense considering this phone is supposed to feature the newest A9 processor. "iPhone 5 + whatever" sounds like 3 years old tech...
Dropping the number and using the latest processor makes sense. I expect the refresh cycle for the SE will be longer than a single year.
On a historical note I recall when there was the Mac IIx (68030) and Mac SE (68000) they were about to introduce an SE with the 030 processor. There was talk of naming it the Mac SEx.![]()
So, TouchId obviously, but no 3D Touch?
All iPhone5 versions had Siri, so Siri Edition would not be a distinguishing nomenclature for the upcoming SE.iPhone SE = Siri Edition although I prefer plain iPhone Siri
John Gruber says that this phone was never intended to be called '5se'. This reinforces my hypothesis that Mark Gurman has good sources but that his knowledge is so-so, making him unable to ask good questions. A lot of the things he reports on are vague and if you were a bit more critical, you would ask your source to clarify.
Don't forget the IIx, IIcx and IIfx!
All rumors have pointed to no 3D touch. Personally, I only use it to multitask and as a cursor for text editing. The shortcuts are useless IMO.
