this stretched iphone is the ugliest design Apple has done in a long while. It's a good thing they won that lawsuit because they've obviously run out of ideas. They should've left the form factor or done the sensible thing and made it bigger proportionately.

I think they had to go to the new aspect ratio... but yes they NEED a BIGGER SCREEN. Not 4 inches. They need bigger! and by bigger they can go thinner!

Stretched Icons Revealed

might make it easier to see.

(not sure about the stocks... or the one next to it.)

I figured it out... Applying the "Bas Relief" filter (13/3/Bottom) in Photoshop to the screensaver pics at macstories.net reveals a... [spoiler alert] ... If you like surprises, you may want to stop reading--but, you can't, so here goes... It's just the Safari icon (both the icon that looks like a tree and the one that looks like Safari, they're the same). Here's the filtered pic:

I have been running the picture of the front facade through my algorithmic decoding program. After mixing the actual picture with the front cover picture of steve jobs book-wrap (of steve), and inverting the colours by an algorithm based on Steve Wozniacks birthsday I end up with this picture!

Image

Of course, it could be due to pure randomness...

And without Passbook installed?

Will the new iOS 6 will be out on Wednesday?

Would be surprised if it was as they haven't released the gold master edition yet. I think it will come out the day of iPhone shipments.

At least we know what they all are now and we can relax a little

ROFL!
You know you've pretty much lost it when you get excited over some icons!

Anyone who believes this was a conscious effort to hint at a taller iPhone and not just a design choice by whomever was tasked with designing the facade seriously needs psychiatric help.

This^

Some here also need help for many other reasons

The New iPhone will definitely be taller, but the stretched icons on that image don't hint at it. Because yeah... the icons on the New iPhone will not be stretched.

All it shows was that Apple wanting to use its bright color theme it not infrequently wheels out music events, and some bright spark with a few months in graphic desgin under thier belt goes "I know, if we streach out the iocns in photoshop they look like a rainbow!" with pats on the back all round sipping double Frappuccinos

i think the unknown icon is the bottom of the safari app icon just like there are two icon itunes one of which is the top and one of which is the bottom

What if this means that the new iPhone is just REALLY fast now. The colors usually looks like that if you drive really fast and look out the windows.

New apps or services

Could the two apps toward the middle be new apps, one possibly being that streaming music service we've been hearing rumors about?

Every conference. Every bloody one, gets its banner over analysed.

I remember a few years ago one with a guitar, people were saying hte number of dots and strings represents the software being released and new macs, iphones etc. Never happens.

Clutching at straws, as usual.

ITs just a banner, nothing significant.
