Apps that WON'T work on Leopard

Might be the way you transferred the apps...

Hi Guys,

Just an observation for those who have had hassles with apps like NeoOffice & Toast 8 - when I ran their installers I had problems with both apps, but when I dragged them over from a backup they worked just fine.. No idea why, but it worked that way on both an original MBP and MB..

HELP! Does Leopard work with Photoshop 7.0??

I installed Leopard and didn't really consider all the horrible bugs that occurred! I am really regretting this! I keep getting an error when I open up Photoshop that says "An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because of a program error. Photoshop will now exit." Exit? Where is it going? Will I ever get it back? i have lost the orginal cd so am I SOL?

There have been multiple reports that Photoshop 7 is not compatible with Leopard, so re-installing isn't going to help unfortunately.

You can perhaps find CS2 or even CS for cheap, if you don't want to upgrade all the way to CS3. CS2 seems to be fine, I have not seen much info on CS but it at least opens-

Does Photoshop require an update to run on Leopard?
Not recent versions. Adobe Photoshop CS3 apparently works fine in testing (as does Photoshop CS2). We did some simple editing with Photoshop CS (8). Photoshop 7 is reported not to run in Leopard.

I just did it with a really simply PSD file, and it worked fine (just as quick as a regular image.)

I got email from Taxan....sounds like they are developing a new version for the current versions of the Locationfree Access Points...perhaps this will work on the older Sony LF-PK1...BTW, I tried to reinstall and no luck for me...here is their message:

The The TLF-MAC/E is a retail software package for Mac¢ç OS X supports Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later .
Currently, we do not have official announce for new software information, but we will release the new software version for Locationfree LF-B10/20 soon which may work on OS X ver. 10.5.
You may able to find the new software on our official website at www.igsshop.com once it is available.
 
Canon EOS software

Bit of an update with regards to Canon software.

Equipment:

Mac Mini (Intel 1.66) upgraded to Leopard
MacBook (C2D 2Ghz) Wiped and Leopard installed
Camera: Eos 5D

Mac Mini: I have the EOS software installed from Tiger. Mainly it was the software supplied on Eos Solution Disk v11.0, only difference was 2.0.2 Eos Utility.

Connected the 5D, click on Start to Download. I get a message ‘Camera is busy and cannot communicate. Clear if camera’s LCD monitor is displayed.’

So decided to wipe the software off and reinstall. Plus also decided to update apps to latest intel versions from the Canon USA website (Eos util 2.2.0/ Imagebrowse 602/ DPP 3.2.0).

Installed and still the same message. Reinstalled original apps once more. And the same error message appears. Gave up at this point and moved to the MacBook.

MacBook: Clean install of leopard. Installed Canon Apps from CD.
Camera connected
CamerawindowDSLR starts
Fan gets louder!
Eos Util installed
Does nothing.

Notes that Lightroom does see the camera and can download from it. However the Eos Utility has the ability to name the files with the camera body serial number (when downloading from the camera). Handy as I have 2 5D bodies.

Gives up and cries at this point (because I really do not want to use the C/F reader).

/Slight update. Found from the Canon USA site, if the camera is set to Print/PTP mode (or something similar anyway) instead of PC connect it does download. However if takes about 1 minute for each 12mb raw image.

Hmm, have you found the update on popcap's site? I'm hoping that they will also have updates for the other games of theirs that I purchased.
 
Has anyone else noticed that Microsoft Word gets really farked when used with Spaces? The toolbars and alignment of everything gets thrown off and doesn't go away.

I've installed it, and while it's not perfect (it doesn't hide the dock icon), it works fine otherwise as far as I can tell.
 
Light?

There may be some light at the end one of our tunnels. VLC is looking like it'll be fixed soon. (the remote issue) I'm using a "temp-fix" version, and it's running solid for me - remote "menu" button now toggles between windowed and full screen. (I didn't recall this happening in 0.8.6c)

Props to VLC for their efforts. Now just gotta hold out for an official build. VLC is about the Winamp of my Mac world. I need it.

Due to my disappointment with Leopards front row - I wish it were possible to replace it with VLC. :) Hell, does not have to be VLC, it could be anything that plays formats not supported by front row, with a large-font simplified interface.

I just can disadvice you to install menufela. i installed it yesterday and afterwards my loginscreen didn`t started anymore. In the system.log a lot of errors were shown about programms which wheren`t able to start.

Installing the macbook new with formating hdd befor where my last solution. that`s realy s....

Kodak Easyshare software doesn't work and my HP Photosmart 1115 printer does not have a driver available. This is very annoying :mad:
 
red marble games?

the game democracy by red marble games at least isn't compat with leopard and my intel processor. not sure if its any different on ppc. i contacted support with red marble and they said they were reviewing their games. however i doubt this affects anyone but me. :-/
