Hi guys--

Yahoo Widget Engine (formerly Konfabulator) v4.0.5 does not work. I assume the authors are aware but I have not been able to confirm that they are working on a fix for this.

I thought it might be useful to compile a list of apps we know won't work on Leopard (in case there are any mission-critical apps people need that won't work) and details of when updates are due (if known). Here's the list so far:
...

Transmit prior to v0.9

...

That should be Transmission (the torrent app). Transmit is the FTP app by Panic. It's at version 3.6.1. According to this post, it works mostly fine, except for a few "surprise" issues.

That issue was discussed in earlier posts (Transmission). Yes, Transmit 3.6.1 works OK - Cyberduck is flawless and free.

FYI I was able to get Parallels working right off the bat.

(I didn't read through the whole thread but I noticed it was on the front page as not working.)

wont work:
InsomniaX
songbird (i know...its pre-alpha..)
jgrasp

also, i watched a few h.264 videos they seem a bit pixelated while xvid/divx/wmv works fine

Does anyone know if Adobe CS (1) will work on Leopard? I haven't yet the cash to lay down on CS3 (soon though). If not, I'm screwed!

got cisco vpn working, just reinstall and all good now! :)

psziel, what VPN client version do you have now? And did you upgrade your client when you upgraded to leopard or is it the same client that worked in Tiger?

Thanks.

Protools - whatever
Parallels - COME ON!

I mean who uses computing devices for anything USEFUL!!

What we should really be asking...

Does WoW run on leopard?? :p:p

Seriously.. I'm joking.. no flames please!

Does Growl work? Adium X? Handbrake? Toast 8?

These are what I need to know! I am upgrading regardless lol, but w/e

As quoted from ray sharpe from the apple discussion boards:

"Took about 40mins to do the upgrade. All my apps are working fine. CS3 and Acrobat works, Microsoft Office 2004 working. All these apps are working perfect: iBiz, Skype, Handbrake, Toast, Limewire, EyeTV, SiteSucker, Google Earth, Earth Browser, Suitcase Fusion, Parallels, ECI Client V5 (tax), Uncoverit and SnapZ pro.
CanoScan 9950F scanner working and OKI C5900 colour laser printer working as well. No worries with Wacom tablet.
Man, this is one sweet upgrade, only issue is Windowshade not working and a third party plugin for Mail called Letterbox not working."

Growl works, but some apps need to be reregistered with Growl to function again. If you do a clean install that should not be a problem.

As far as the other apps, I haven't personally tried, but I know Adium works.

I can't get Adium to work under Leopard - I try to connect to MSN with it and it just constantly tries to connect to no avail... is this happening to anyone else?

Only issue is - I can connect to MSN from sites like Meebo, so I have no idea what's going on... I also just tried Adium on my Tiger Macbook and that worked fine...

I'm running 10.5 on my Macbook Pro btw.

Anyone know of any alternatives to PithHelmet and Saft? These two don't work with Leopard.:(

[EDIT] I found this for session saving. Safari has it built-in...kinda.

I'm having trouble viewing the download queue in iGrabnews. The app seems to be very unresponsive under Leopard meaning you can't see what's happening although it does seem to be downloading, so maybe just a GUI issue.

Sounds like a server problem, I've had Adium running under Leopard on a couple of machines without any problem.
