I wonder if I'm the only one who uses Word Of Where? Here's a correspondence with the makers of the software:

Me: Just wondering if World of Where will be compatible with Mac OS X 10.5.

Them: Yes it's fully compatible.

SUPER.

Here's another correspondence:

Me: Just wondering what the state of BareBones is with Leopard.

BareBones: So far as we know, our products should work normally under Leopard, but if it turns out any changes are needed, we'll make them. (We won't have the release version until late in the day on Friday either. :)

i created a basic list on guides.macrumors.com.

Thanks for that, Andy! didn't know you could create those if you're not a mod. Can I reiterate Andy's suggestion that anyone with further updates posts over there as well as in the thread? Cheers!

Some users on some other forums have reported that Inquisitor is not working in Leopard and that there may never be a leopard version because OSX 10.5 no longer supports input managers. If this is the case this is a real bummer because inquisitor is one of the greatest plug-ins for safari ever.

And then some

iWOW 2.0 plug-in for iTunes doesnt work

Octiv Logic 1.3.2 plug-in for iTunes doesnt work either and by the looks
of things they wont update it as they have pulled the plug on the project. :(

FolderShare

I am happy report that FolderShare does work on Leopard...

Unless you are using .Mac and have turned on the Preferences Sync. This will cause all of your machines to think they are the same FolderShare installation, preventing you from actually using the application (requires 2 or more machines to run).

So for FolderShare to work, you need to turn off .Mac preferences syncing. And if you do ever accidently turn it on, you need to do a couple of steps to get FolderShare working again:

  1. Turn off .Mac preferences syncing
  2. Close FolderShare application completely
  3. Delete the ~\Library\Application Support\FolderShare\ folder.
  4. Delete the ~\Library\Preferences\com.bytetaxi.foldershare.plist file.
  5. Turn FolderShare back on and register it again with FolderShare.com.
But yay for Leopard anyway! =)

I am happy to report that Stuffit 11 does work on Leopard (even though Smith Micro state on their site it's incompatibile).

All features work well-even the MagicMenu menubar feature.

Use the latest version of F4M. It does work. I'm using it.

I am using the latest version 2.1.3.10. I've tried reinstalling and adding and removing components. Once or twice it worked but most times quicktime just hangs and coverflow previews don't work.

VersionTracker Pro. Fails to connect with an auth problem, and then crashes on quit.

Well this is most likely related to something in your set up as multiple users on this thread have already confirmed it working in Leopard. See here

What about Mail.app? ;)

After I configured my E-Mail-Account (IMAP, many many E-Mails in it), it keeps crashing about 5 seconds after I start it. Already installed Thunderbird wich (thanks God!!) works fine.

I use iView Media Pro to manage my photography archives, and since they were bought by Microsoft last year I've heard it will be next to impossible that it will ever work with Leopard. Could anyone confirm this? Is there anyway to tell for sure, short of installing and testing it yourself?

I'm recent Mac convert and this will be my first OS upgrade, but it sounds like a cautious "wait and see" approach is appropriate with Mac just like it was with Windoze. I guess I won't bother waiting in line tonight ;)

Cheers,

Andrew

Crossover does not work. Ventrilo works but does not allow you do see who's in a channel, or move from channel to channel.
Interesting. Did you test with version 6.2? That's the latest release, and is supposed to work with Leopard - in fact, Leopard fixed a bug that makes Crossover run Outlook 50% faster, according to the press release on the Crossover Mac site.

Well OS 9 is not supported on Macs with FW800, considering that this leaves only a few models that met Apples requirements this should be a non-issues.

It's an issue for those of us who've been using Classic applications on PPC Macs for years now and never found a need to change because the Classic environment worked so well. I can't upgrade to Leopard until I've solved these problems. I know can do it, but it will be costly, and unwelcome.

Adobe CS2 any good?

thx :)

It works no problem

Yahoo Messenger 3.0 beta2 doesn't work.

Word 2004 works (haven't tested other Office 2004 apps)

Pretty much every program crashes (for no apparent reason)

Safari has crashed, Preview, Transmission, Picasa Uploader...

How about Sharepoints? I use it to create a smb-share of an external volume.

Sharepoints did not work for me, I don't even think the preference pane showed up ... however, the built in Sharing pane realized that I had Sharepoints folders set up and already had them in there. I simply removed Sharepoints and used the built in Share pane and all is well! Again, Sharepoints functionality is largely (fully?) now built into Leopard.

Incidentally, I used AppZapper to remove Sharepoints and VirtueDesktops (Spaces alternative) with no issue, so I know AppZapper works.

Out of curiosity, is Transmission behaving quirky for anyone else?

Unless I pause my transfers, it doesn't want to quit. It also seems to behave strangely when opening torrents (almost stalls).

Yes, I have been experiencing the same thing ... it seems to work just fine at dowloading, just won't quit ... just hangs and doesn't show up in Activity Monitor.
