I'm prolly gonna be up until 3am EST, because that's midnight in CA, and I'm just gonna keep refreshing apple.com hoping for a sale.

That's exactly what I'm doing. All jokes aside, I would think that if they were really gonna do the "let's make them think were not gonna release anything by staying completely silent" and then changing the website at midnite, then they would do that on Pacific Coast time since they're based in California.

Well, another 2 hours and 38 minutes to go...

ok apple, you got us!

So I guess this was their bestest April Day fools ever....

Apple has gone through today with little fan fair and pretending they don't have any new gear to announce. And THAT is their April fools joke. The goods will be unvailed any day I expect... I hope....

ONE MORE THING... daylight savings time adjustment TONITE!!!

For those of us who are still holding out hope that Apple will do something at midnight Pacific Coast Time [PST] in about 2 1/2 hours, we must also remember ONE MORE THING...

TONIGHT is the night that we have to adjust for DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME, effectively making 12am, 1am instead [Spring = forward 1 hour, Fall = back 1 hour].

Now that throws a wrench in the conspiracy system, don't it?

Could Apple possibly do something at 11pm, which most people wouldn't expect because they'll probably check back at 12am PST, and later say that they were REALLY April Fooling us by counting the daylight savings time adjustment a little early, meaning 11pm is actually 12pm?

DAMN YOU APPLE!!! ... and HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!! :D

Adjusting for DST occurs at 2am in whatever time zone your in.

So, effectively, if your holding out for a midnight PST announcement you have to wait just as long even if there wasn't DST.

Which is 2 hours.

I don't know of any other computer company [Apple] that has created so sharp a division between its fans and critics.

Now "WOW!!!" us Apple in celebration of you're 30th... I'm dying here.

Yeah, I know.

That's why I said "... later say that they [Apple] were REALLY April Fooling us by counting the daylight savings time adjustment a little early...".

I know that we don't adjust at midnight, rather at 2am as you have stated, but I just didn't want to confuse the issue any further.

I'm not concerned with any time zone other than the one that Apple bases it's event and/or announcement times on when they're in their home state of California.

Is There A Difference Between Celebrating Apple and the Macintosh?

One thought occurred to me the other day as I was reading about the Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh that retailed for $7500--perhaps Apple would only come out with a "celebratory" product in conjunction with the product's original date of introduction as was the case with the TAM. Maybe the company's anniversary doesn't coordinate with any potential "special edition" or particular promotion...

I personally don't believe so, I think Apple could do just about anything and take advantage of the timing and gain some free publicity.

happy b-day apple

p.s., dells brake, who gives about hardware specs. my mac mini is faster than a $5,000 Vaio tower

kiss my mac loving, oh never mind

p.s.s. i actually respect bill gates for his charity work, but thats off topic

happy 30th again. i am fatithful to ma, even if we dont get new stuff

p.s.s.s steve jabs, you are my hero

p.s.s.s.s ill shut up now

Something that I was just thinking about:

Even if Apple wanted to release products later (either to play a joke, or stick with weekdays), they still should have placed something on their website celebrating their 30th Anniversary, no matter what else they had planned.

What are we going to see on the Apple page tomorrow? "We're celebrating a day late! April Fools!" -- Ya, that look real professional.

It also doesn't make much sense to post your 30h anniversary a day late.

They still could have played a perfectly good joke by celebrating today and releasing products later. In fact, it would have been even trickier if they placed a birthday cake on their home page but didn't release anything; then we would really['i] think they weren't going to release something.

I'm starting to loose hope. :(

Well...we still have 55 more minutes...

Ugh, this daylight savings time thing confuses me so much! It's 3:00 AM here on the east coast... so I thought it was midnight over on the west coast. I'm going to bed... be back tomorrow!

Well, so much for the "April fools! We're gonna update the main page at 11pm to throw everyone off who's gonna come back and check at 12am because they forgot about the daylight savings time adjustment and this is how we're gonna celebrate our 30th anniversary" theory.

50 minutes to go until 12am PST, and I lose all hope :( ... until Monday at least. :D

You know you can't do it. You have to stay awake for another 50 minutes or else you're gonna miss out on all the new stuff that Apple will release at midnight.

;)

There's a special event report on the Japanese Apple site
(not joking, really)

DAMNIT!

Why don't those Japanese people just speak English already?!!!

;) :D

I had Google translate Apple's Japanese main page, and I saw the Special Event section that you're talking about. It looks like it's just somekind of College Night thing though.

Oh, I see. You April fooled me. Touche.

I'm thinking that this may be an Apple/Intel joint April fool's joke, and that besides the Intel MacBooks, vPod, iMovie Video Store [iMVS], and the MacPod/MacPad/Mac Mobile [cliboard sized ultra thin & lightweight pda/tablet hybrid], that Intel may also announce that they are again 6 months ahead of schedule on producing their entire 64-bit processor line-up [mobile-Merom, desktop-Conroe, server-Woodcrest] and that we'll consequently see new Mac Pros [PowerPC PowerMac replacements] and MacServes [PowerPc Xserve replacement].

The cherry on top will, of course, be the Mac Mobile phone/iPhone.

I am editing this post at 11:56pm PST, so there are only 4 minutes left until you all see that I am right. ;)
