How is linking to another thread a good April Fool's joke? I don't get it. Seems like an April Fool's joke should make you expect something and then be disappointed or relieved, but no, this thing just takes you to a greeting. I don't feel tricked.

You sound disappointed to me, which means by your own criteria above it was a good April Fool's joke. :p :D

What were you expecting, lengthy articles and 5276 actual comments regarding Disney and Apple acquiring each other?  The Mods aren't going to go to that much trouble for a joke... ;)

Yep, the April Fools joke was getting us all to believe that there would be a major announcement for the 30th Birthday. HA! We didn't even get any April Fools announcements. Oh well. Been holding off on my iPod purchase to see if the new video iPod was coming and I had my Dad wait on his MacBook Pro purchase to see if the 17" MBP was coming.

[CHANDLER BING]Did you READ the whole page?[/CHANDLER BING] The joke was the page, not the thread you fool. Every word on the entire page was a joke. Heck, just the whole Page 3 concept was part of the joke.

I'd say they spent quite some time, and no doubt it'll show up in Google and excite a few others.

Geez.

No, no. I realize my error now. You see, I was only watching for the words NEW iPOD or NEW MACBOOKS. I saw iCenter and MAC or Mac; I didn't bother to actually read any of the other stuff. It would have been more entertaining if I did, I see now. The MAC or Mac didn't sound like an April Fool's, but an intelligence test. I didn't even scroll down to read the WMA thing. So I was just annoyed that I kept seeing that blasted thread that has nothing but happy april fool's and apple b-days and nothing about a NEW iPOD. I have no holiday spirit. Just a voracity for NEW iPOD.

Ah, I see - so we got you hook, line and sinker then. Excellent. :p ;) :D

So... Is anyone holding out hope for a MacBook on Tuesday? - Besides Me?  :(

Oh, don't worry, you're not alone... ;) I'm not waiting for one personally, but I know many people who are. And the MacBooks are definitely due, so hopefully we'll see them in the next few weeks.

Good Mourning!

Just woke up to the further rants of NO ANNOUNCEMENTS from all my Mac buddies and I feel a bit like a fool myself with all the hope for new stuff.

Steve is a sly one with his hinting of that day being huge in Apple's history which often means he has something up his sleeve. Maybe HE wanted us to give him presents and celebrate by purchasing more Appleware?

I still think Apple is going to do something this week yeah?... OR should we start calling that day APPLE FOOLS day from now on?

I am, and Apple better not raise the price from $999! (just like they did the MacMini)

I'd really like it to be cheaper. :)

well im at the store right now and there isn't even a hint at it having been their 30th birthday! I am really disapointed because i hoped to see them in the stores and maybe they just didn't get to update the web. but i guess they don't even care!

thats good "apple fools" I like that. I don't like how it makes me feel though. Heres hoping for tomorrow or Tuesday.

Well i must sell my iBook G4 to buy a MacBook, but i don't know when i should sell it!

If i sell it now i will have all my money lined up and things set in place, but i will be Mac-less for however long it takes for these MacBooks to arrive!

Or... I could hang on and wait till the MacBooks are announced and then sell... and have to endure a painful 7-day eBay auction without being able to hit "buy" on the Apple store. Then people will know about the new intel ready iBooks and perhaps become less willing to pay more for my 1.2GHz G4 iBook.

I'm despairing here, what should I do?

Thanks, Joe.

I would be VERY surprised to see the new iBook (MacBook) come in cheaper than the old one...in fact I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a price increase.

I bet they'll do something similar like they did w/ the Mac Minis. Raise the Low end model by $100 and the Highend $200

Belated happy birthday, Apple.

The past couple years together have been great -- particularly this past month, with my finger rubbing your nipple. It makes my cursor jump all over the place. And there is so much of you to see 8)

Mmm yum Apple.

I called the local apple store yesterdsay to ask if they were doing anything special for their 30th Ann...

Answer was Nope...:(

Apple could have put on a 30th anniversary Sale - with all the publicity etc - they could have had quite a few Mac switchers ( who would have not otherwise - cheaper prices etc )... but no, they chose not to take the opportunity...

It appears the only Party for the 30th Anniversary is gunna be on the TWiT Podcast which should be out in the Morning. Previous Apple Employee's will be on, and they even sent an invite to Steve Jobs.

UGH!! I read just about every thread on this topic and after all 15 pages, all I can say is....april fools, happy birthday, blah blah blah, give me the new macBOOK!!!! NOW!!!!
