I'd really like to see someone's MSI Afterburner clock speed chart after playing a game for a while. My huge issue with the m370x was always that it the thermal throttling kicks in so early, and so I couldn't maintain maximum clock speed without forcing it.

Anytime! I know the 460 for me was the last bastion of mystery with this release and real-world video editing performance on this thing is going to determine whether I keep it or it goes back. I'm coming from a Late 2013 2.3ghz/16GB/750M 2GB MBP that I use heavily - my only issue right now is I can't plug a single one of the hundreds of drives here at the office in to test Premiere and FCPX. Gotta hit the Apple Store for some dongles, I guess.

Additionally, love the keyboard - generally dislike the trackpad. I guess I'm late to the game but I think the traditional click on the Late 2013 is so much faster and more tactile than the Force Touch versions that feel like they can't keep up. Do appreciate the size though. The new "Default for Display" is "looks like 1680x1050" on the 15 incher, now, too.
[doublepost=1479146713][/doublepost]Anything else? I'm off to the Apple Store to grab some dongles, but I'll be back and willing to run more tests. What are we thinking here, better or worse than expected for the 460?

Thanks so much for doing this :D
[doublepost=1479201122][/doublepost]I still don't understand the Benchmark Results... Can someone tell me if the RX460 is on par with GTX960M or GTX965M or below both of them?

Really looking forward to seeing some Bootcamp gaming FPS benchmarks. How will the 460 perform in older games like CS:GO or BF3?

i dont't think is just 25% less than 460, people are saying that is 50% less, maybe is not true ?!

People assumed that the 460 would be twice as fast as the 450. However early benchmarks show that the 460 is only 20% - 25% faster than the 450.

I'm walking out of UPS with mine too right now. Let us know what you want to see.
its getting hot with that 460? how are the speakers? someone issues that the left speaker is more louder than the right one? is that true? and the big one, when you just surf the web you can reach Apple claims 10h battery?
Thank you so much

So as far as I can tell the 450 is quite good, instead of crap and the 460 is just reasonably faster and not by like 50%. With other words: Would I go for the 450 or the 460, since I ordered them both. However, the 450 should show up this week and the 460 would appear at my door between 19-28 december..

My work consists of using Sketch (for App design (~ 40-60 artboards), Photoshop (images, up to 20MP), Indesign (A2-A4 20-page docs) and Illustrator for the usual stuff. These are my heaviest processes. Currently on my 2012 non-retina with nVidia 650m using Sketch with ~ 35 artboards feels very laggy. Which I assume my GPU is lacking. Gotta say, I don't do Video Editting (Premiere) or 3D (Cinema4D)

So which would be my best fit?

I think the 450 will do just fine. Many of us, including myself, thought that de difference between the 450 and 460 would be 2X. Now these benchmarks show us that the 460 is only 20% - 25% faster. Furthermore you can expect that the 460 will run hotter and thus louder than the 450.

I initially ordered a 450 as well and considered to change my order to the 460. But after seeing the benchmarks, I'm convinced that the 450 is the right choice for me. My MacBook will be used for web and iOS development (Xcode, Sketch, terminal, Atom, VM's, ...)

Thats interesting. I think i may just end up keeping the 450 and not going with the 460 then. I dont really game much anyways. Do you think the 450 will run more quieter and less hot than the 460?

i think the display now because its thiner it wobbles a lot more than last generation?someone can confirm this?

when have macbook displays ever wobbled? they are pretty solid. even my 2008 white macbook screen was solid.

yes the last generations didnt wobble so much, but i think now they are wobbling more, like the 12" Macbook

Yeah, it seems they have made the hinges looser to get the "perfectly weighted" hinges when you open the macbook, without having to hold the base down.

Which, frankly, says more about the quality of geekbench rather than anything else.

Why would you be happy about a flawed benchmark?
You seem pretty insistent on it being a flawed benchmark. It could be that the HD530 does beat the Iris Pro in some aspects, since after all it's 3 years newer.

If every single test except geekbench show that the 530 is slower than I'm rather inclined to doubt geekbench.

All tests that I've seen show that the 530 is faster than the Iris Pro. Could you post links of the tests that you have found?

Considering the price of the GPU upgrade, I honestly think that it's a mistake not to go for the 460, which represent a this stage one of the few significant performance boost of those 2016 MacBook Pro.

The 460 will run hotter at full load yes but should perform like the 450 for every day life. And it's a plus on the resale value.
