I love mine, even happier once I got my free bumper but I never had any dropped calls before that, just had the bars drop. I can use it heavily and still have it last a day which I wasn't able to do with other smartphones I've had. It's my first iPhone as I've always been put off with it lacking something I considered essential, but even coming from a Palm Pre I haven't missed the "true" multi-tasking like I thought I might, and the Apps that have been updated specifically for iPhone 4 are fantastic.

Very happy with mine... have the proximity issue everyone else seems to have, but hey whatever :) It's a great phone and I still believe it's the best device out there!!!

Stock iPhone 4 = Pretty cool, I'm fun of it

Jailbroken iPhone 4 = Overexceeded every one of my wildest fantasies. :D:D, I'm pretty much addicted to it

Mine works as well as I had hoped, which is much better than I had feared. The worst thing I can say about it is that the vibrate motor could be stronger. I've never been impressed with any iPhone in that regard, so I don't consider it a loss.

For what I do with it, I can't really say I see a tremendous performance difference between the 4 and my 3GS. But it sure is nicer to look at.

I like mine well enough, but the proximity problem and dropped calls do get irritating.

I have to say that I am really happy with my iPhone 4- more pleased than I expected to be. I had a 3g and there is just no comparison between the two phones.
I've also been fortunate in that I haven't had any of the issues which seem to have plagued people. I must be in a fairly strong signal area because I've not had the dropped calls issue/death grip issue. No proximity sensor issues either.
The phone part works just fine, thank you very much, and the noticeable speed improvements plus the easy to see screen have been awesome.
Apps I would never have even considered on my 3 g now run fabulously. So I'm happy.

Mine's been better than I expected.

Coming from a Blackberry, this OS is orgasmic. App integration and app quality is miles ahead of BB.

I don't think I could ever use a "normal" screen again. Being able to read full size webpages unzoomed is amazing.

Haven't risked jailbreaking yet - I'm a bit scared. Does the startup screen change? Can I still update?

Startup screen does not change. You can update, but if you do it before there is a new jailbreak for that version, you will lose your jailbreak. Most jailbroken users just wait until the new version is jailbroken and then they update.

I wasn't going to upgrade from my 3G, thinking that it wouldn't be much different ... until my 3G died on me ...

I was so wrong ... the iphone4 has totally exceeded my expectations: it's lighting fast, awesome display and very very nice camera. I still can't get over how fast it is! Yes, the inadequacies of AT&T is still a huge disappointment but the phone itself is awesome!

So yes, the iphone4 was everything I thought it to be and more!

Can those of you with the proximity sensor issue describe it? I have had two iphone 4's (the first one got replaced due to a scratch on the camera lens), and neither one have any problem. Could it be some of the phones are just defective?

edit:
Jailbreaking is the BEST thing you can do to your phone. Between Bitesms, My3g, MyWi, etc. my phone is literally perfect for me.

By the way, Iphone Netflix app just came out! Woohoo!

I am much happier with the iPhone than I thought that I would be.

I switched from a T-Mobile Blackberry 9700, and haven't missed anything about the Blackberry. I have had some small coverage and dropped call issues, but I believe that the bumper will for the most part fix those issues once it arrives. If I hold my phone from the top, I get 4 bars around home, if I hold it from the bottom, I get 1-2 bars.

Releasing a phone with these issues is a huge oversight, in my opinion, but if the bumper works like I expect it will, then I will be completely happy with the phone.

I'm definitely as happy as i thought I would be, if not moreso. And the experience just keeps getting better, Netflix for example is great!

I'm actually happier than I expected. The camera is awesome, the speed compared to the 1st gen iPhone is insane, and I've had no dropped calls in the first 6 weeks of use, though I'm not a heavy phone user (it's worn a bumper since day one as well). In fact, the overall signal is better than what I got with the original iPhone. My only issue is the Bluetooth headset problem, and I figure that will eventually be fixed.

Obviously it hasn't worked out that way for everyone, which is a bummer.

^^^ This. JB'ing took a pretty good product and VASTLY improved it. I don't know how I managed without SBSettings, and Categories makes the experience on both the iPhone and iPad so much better!

Honestly, the best phone I've owned to date. So much more that I can do with it and with the release of Hulu and Netflix, my commute to work is no longer me having to fiddle my thumbs.

I'm coming from a Blackberry and while I understand that it's supposed to be a workhorse, I've been able to do more things with it as a work phone than with my old BB.

i'd say yes. this is my first iPhone and i'm a new AT&T customer as well (coming from Verizon). i do get more dropped calls though, and in my area, the AT&T network isn't as encompassing as Verizon. so not overly impressed with AT&T.
but i love the iPhone 4 and the pros definitely outweigh the cons.

Thanks everyone for the replies! I have been running around and finally able to address some issues..

I do love the iphone, dont get me wrong, it would make a fantastic ipod touch..

I just think that for reliability and consistency, blackberry has that in spades..

Since switching I have not had ONE dropped or fuzzy call and everything works seamlessly...

As for missing the apps, thats why I have my iPad (which does what it is supposed to do very well!)..

So again thanks for all the replies, for those who love it congrats, just wanted to see if anyone had the same issues as me..
